ROALD DAHL Roald Dahl was

born in Llandaff, Wales on September 13th 1916. His parents were Norwegian. His father Harald and his elder sister died when he was just three.

ABOUT HIS MOTHER His Mother was left to take care of 2

stepchildren and 4 of her own. Roald was her only son. Roald based the character of his grandmother in his book THE WITCHES as a tribute to his mother.

WAR AND ADVENTURE At 18 rather than going to a university he

joined the public schools exploring societies' expedition to newfoundland.He was 23 when war broke out and he joined the Royal force in naiobi.Dahl’s adventures in war are listed in his book going solo.

ROALD DAHL BEGINS TO WRITE

In 1960 ,Roald and his family settled in Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire, England at gipsy house. It was here in a small hut at the bottom of the garden he began to write . He actually wrote for his small children.

ROALD DAHL’ DEATH In 1990 Roald was diagnosed with a rare

blood disorder,Myloe-Displastic-Aneamia.

Roald died on November 23rd 1990 at the age of 74.He was working on The Vicar of NIBBLESWICKE,My Year and The Roald Dahl Cookbook.

EOIN COLFER Eoin(pronounced

Owen)Colfer born 14th may is an Irish writer. He was born in Wexford,Ireland in 1965, where he and his fourbrothers were brought up by his father (an elementary school teacher, historian and artist of note) and mother (a drama teacher).

EOIN’S PASSION FOR WRITING He first developed an interest in writing

in primary (elementary) school withgripping Viking stories inspired by history that he was learning in school at the time. He has lived and worked all over the world including Saudi Arabia.

HIS ACHIEVEMENTS He received his degree from Dublin

University and began teaching primary school in Wexford. After the publication of the Artemis Fowl novels, Eoin retired from teaching and now writes full time.

HIS LIFE To date the majority of his works have

reached the New York Times Bestseller list at least once. Colfer currently resides in Wexford, Ireland with his wife, Jackie, and two children, Séan and Finn.

RICK RIORDAN "Rick" Riordan, Jr. (born June 5,

1964) is an American author . Riordan was raised in San Antonio, Texas. In middle school, Bernard Evslin's ,The Greek Gods introduced him to Greek mythology, and Tolkien's The Fellowship of the Ring "opened up the world of fantasy" for him.

Jackson & the Olympians series. Percy Jackson and the Olympians series features a twelve-year-old who discovers he is the modern-day son of the ancient Greek god, Poseidon.

RABINDRANATH TAGORE Rabindranath Tagore 7 May 1861 – 7

August 1941), was a Bengali polymath who reshaped his region's literature and music. Author of Gitanjali and its "profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful verse", he became the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913.

POETRY AT AN EARLY AGE Tagore wrote poetry as an eight-

year-old. He graduated to his first short stories and dramas—and the aegis of his birth name—by 1877.

1564 – 23 April 1616) was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist.
