INTRODUCTION

Automatic Bearing Simulator is simulation software dedicated to bearing calculation

ABC has been developed by extrusion experts for automatic bearing calculation:

Based on 2D drawing

ABC has been designed to be integrated into die design process

It enables designer to define bearing but also to optimize them and die shape

ABC has been designed to be integrated into die correction process

It enables die corrector to control bearing on existing die and to define modifications to apply

BENEFITS

Based on 2D drawing, ABC can be integrated into initial die design phase. Die corrector can also control bearing length using the 2D drawing sent by die maker.

Completely automatized, ABC can be used by correction shop and die designer

Several calculation modes enable to perform bearing calculation for standard or complex dies design.

Based on 2D simulation (and simplified 3D simulation for complex dies) with optimized algorithms result is obtained in few minutes.

Bearing curves can be integrated into 3D CAD model for CAM (specific development for your CAM software on demand).

Coupled with 3DSimulator, bearings can be calculated for complex die shape

FULL DIE ANALYTIC CALCULATION

This calculation mode is used for full profile with standard design and feeder.

It can also be used to teach to new die corrector or designer, bearing length rules considering profile difference thicknesses

user just need to

1. Select dxf file including the profile shape

2. Choose if he wants to consider the reduction of pressure on the external diameter of billet (to use for large profile) and/or feeder effect.

3. Select analytical mode

4. Start the bearing calculation and analyze the results

PORTHOLE ANALYTIC CALCULATION

This calculation mode is used for standard porthole design.

User just need to

1. Select dxf file including the profile shape and feeding holes.

2. Choose if he want to consider the reduction of pressure on the external diameter of billet (to use for large profile),

FULL DIE COMPUTED CALCULATION

This calculation mode is used for full dies with pocket (sink-in) or/and special feeder (specific shape).

User just need to:

Select dxf file including the profile, pocket and feeder shape.

Create simplified 3D model and mesh (automatic)

Prepare data (field map)

Start the bearing calculation and analyze the results

PORTHOLE DIE COMPUTED CALCULATION

This calculation mode is used for Portholes with pocket (sink-in).

User just need to:

Select dxf file of die design (including profile, pocket and feeding holes, welding chamber).

Create simplified 3D model and Field (made easily in 2 steps, in background)

Start the calculation and analyze the results

COMPUTED CALCULATION ON REAL 3D MODEL (COMPLEX CASE)

This mode is coupled with 3D Simulator

For complex die, a 3D flow simulation based on real die shape is realized with 3DS (based on 3D die model)

User exports to ABC data necessary to calculate bearing in real extrusion conditions.
