JOB SEARCHING IS

TIME-CONSUMING

The day just doesn’t seem long enough to get everything done

RSS can give you back some of that time

Page 5: Automating the Job Search (Version 1.1)

WHAT IS RSS? Really Simple Syndication

A type of web feed used to publish / distribute frequently updated content

Designed to notify users when a website or blog updates with fresh content

Page 6: Automating the Job Search (Version 1.1)

WHAT IS RSS? Monitored through an

RSS aggregator, like Google Reader.

When sites update content, the RSS reader is notified.

When you login to your reader, feeds show up like e-mail in your inbox.

BENEFITS OF RSS

Centralize content consumption in one place

Scroll through content (i.e., “feeds”) from multiple sites without visiting each one

Categorize content into folders / subfolders

Once configured, users are able to read and consume more in a shorter period of time

RSS + You = Win!
