We think of this as:

• Assessing new network & systems

• Designing new network & systems

• Deploying network & systems

• Migrating from old to new state

• Supporting network & systems

• Optimising network & systems

These are the Service Phases which help us understand in more detail what kind of Services we deliver to our Customer

Solution: Tool that creates and applies the Configuration to the MX based on current M320 port information

Results: $1.5 Million savings with Migrations scheduled to be fully completed later this year

US Restaurant ChainChallenge: 3,000+ Device Refresh

Solution: Web-based one touch Dashboard with template integration into customer’s system for initial configuration

Results: $2+ Million sale with final testing underway. System to be used for all future initial configurations.

Major Financial InstitutionChallenge: Automated Data Center Turn-up

Solution: Fully integrated system for the Turn-Up, Testing and Validation of New Data Centers

Results: System fully tested and implemented, 1st site completed in October.

• The Network Vendor is consolidating all Internal R&D, Services, Support infrastructure into 3 Large Scale DCs. They had tried to scale their own DC solution, but failed, and selected Juniper DC solution for Performance and Scale.

Challenge

Solution

Results

• Very short Sales and Requirements Capture cycle

• Drove Need for DC, OSS & Automation Assessment

• Junos Space NMS for DC Management

• OSS Systems Integration – still to be decided

• Automation – DC Turnup, provisioning and service abstraction to be automated to make existing IT stack easier to manage at scale within 2015

• Ongoing Project

• Successful start

Another Large Network Vendor selected Juniper

DC solutions (after 18 months of trying to get its own DC to

scale)

• Small Pan-European SP rolled out a new IP/MPLS Network, and needed an NMS for Operations, and to then later, enable Bandwidth on Demand for its customers.

Challenge

Solution

Results

• Juniper PS ran a 2 Day PoC in Q4 2011. Vendor selection March 2012.

• Juniper Partner ran Network Design and Deployment Project

• Juniper PS undertook Junos Space NMS FFP Phase 1 project to enable Operations to go live quickly

• Juniper PS lead a 5 Day SDK Training Workshop to enable the SP to build their own Applications

• Juniper PS provided direct, onsite technical support to SP Developers to enable them to build the BoD App

• Juniper PS undertook updated Phase 2 NMS, OSS SI Design, Deployment and Training

• SP Operations had an Operational NMS within a month of signing the contract

• SP Developers learnt how to build their own Application, giving them ownership and control

• Updated Phase also included managed deployment of the SP Application, and OSS Systems Integration

100G Network + NMS and

deliver BoD to its customers

• Small SP using CLI to provision and manage L2VPNs• Slow, Costly, Error-Prone (due to Staff reductions, training etc).• SP had great (small) IT developers who wanted APIs

Challenge

Solution

Results

• Juniper PS delivered a 5 Day block of T&M consultancy

• Juniper PS walked the developers through the lab setup, trained them on the Junos Space REST APIs, enough to get them going.

• SP developers used REST APIs down through Junos Space and Exec-RPC REST API straight through to devices when needed.

• SP reduced costs, and automated provisioning by IT, without having to use CLI (which developers don’t always understand).

UK SP wanted their IT

developers to provision/mana

ge L2VPNs quickly

• Large T1 SP had built in large amounts of complexity, network service designs• Overnight MX Upgrades, Junos and Network Services was taking too much preparation, checking time• SP had to roll out new network designs and service based on target node version, and was delayed

Challenge

Solution

Results

• Juniper Services built a Python framework to automate the Pre-Migration checks, to automate some of the network upgrade tasks, and then automation of the post-migration checks.

• Network Upgrade rate is 3x faster, and less risky/error-prone

• Network Upgrade framework is now being applied at other SPs by Juniper PS

SP was upgrading

Junos version on MX Edge nodes, but

needed it to be faster to achieve

Business Goals
