Second we should understand the ground reality we are faced with (i.e. Fragmentation)
There are more than 2 Dozen Proposed IoT Device Protocols
A Dozen consortiums and Standards bodies.
Every Firm is positioning its existing products incrementally as an IoT offering
There are atleast a 100 devices each for everything you can imagine… some say this way we will end up wearing 30+ devices per person
There are 100’s of firms promising to help you Click Your Way Through a US$19 Trillion IoT Adoption in a Few Days’ ;-)
And lastly there are Snake Oil Salesmen. Hopefully nobody thinks we are one of them.

We at Automatski are thinking about Systems!!!
We Built a Platform with the intention of delivering 50+ Smart IoT Solutions in mind… e.g. Smart Homes, Smart Cars, Smart Energy, Smart Healthcare, Smart Cities etc.
We didn’t piggy back and tie us up and lock us in with any Clouds or other Tools or Infrastructure to scale and architect our platform
We designed Automatski using First Principles from the Ground Up!

We call this a PolyGlot Architecture. There are no Lock Out’s
Automatski can run on any hardware virtual or physical or any cloud, on premise or hybrid.
It can be white branded with any acquirer’s suite of products and offerings, immaterial of what they are
If you think the BigData or the Mobile/Tablet Industry is Fragmented… then trust us you have no idea…
Fragmentation in the IoT industry will be beyond your wildest imagination… (It already is)
PHILOSOPHY
We started with a Philosophy that if we figure out the data and execution aspects of an IoT system we figure out the IoT system, or any system for that matter.
Hence we started by creating Streamer our Low Latency and IoT scale throughput data hub. (Solving Data Pipeline needs)
And ChatterBox the execution hub counterpart to it. (Solving Execution Pipeline needs)
And we then created a uReactive Architecture to host micro kernels e.g. Rules, Workflows, CEP, CPU, GPU, PubSub, Service Broker.
In effect creating all the necessary components to create a comprehensive IoT Platform capable of delivering a Plethora of Real World IoT Solutions…

STREAMER & CHATTERBOX
Streamer is an IoT Scale low latency high throughput Data Hub, that can address the
data pipeline needs of any IoT Solution.
It can source data from any system or platform or even low profile devices and pipe them to any destination, 100+ data science and big data platforms, cloud services and even proprietary Telecom or Healthcare backend systems.
ChatterBox Is the low latency high throughput Execution Hub counterpart to Streamer
and can take care of execution pipeline needs of any IoT Solution.
It can even execute instructions as compact as 50-100 bytes coming from low profile devices and execute them on e.g. Telecom, Healthcare, Social Media Platforms, Cloud Service backends etc.
ΜREACTIVE INFRASTRUCTURE
But to build Real World IoT solutions we would need more than Chatterbox and Streamer, we would need a Reactive Architecture that’s scalable, fault tolerant, reliable etc.
That can run µKernels (Micro Kernels)
So we built just that and built custom business logic CPU micro kernels, GPU HPC micro kernels, rule engine, workflow, CEP microkernels, and are now working on a mem store (Memory based storage) and block store (Disk based storage) that can run on the µReactive infrastructure.
We also created a distributed and scalable Pub Sub system that can route messages between 100+ million publishers and subscribers in just low double digit GBs of RAM and off the shelf servers.
And then we created a Service Broker to broker, offer discovery of IoT services.
AUTO HUB & AUTO SENSE
And then we created our own Automatski Device Hub that can work with the popular protocols like Z-Wave, Zigbee, WeMo, Bluetooth, uPnP, UDP etc. etc. and integrate with any Consumer or Industrial Sensor on the market.
And finally started work on our own range of Sub Rupees 500/- sensors called AutoSense.
AND THEN!!!
The world changed by the time we did our second release…
And we needed to integrate with the Best of Breed IoT components and technologies out there.

Now look at the Top 3 Cloud Platforms – Aren’t they inherently complex? But they are simple because they have little or no accidental complexity. So do we!

Data Science is more than Pie Charts!
Platforms are more than about a Visual UI, how about Global Integration and Operations?
Lets ask them to implement the shortest path algorithm, or detect when an engine is going to fail, or do a 3D MRI predictive analysis or do statistical hypothesis testing on a dataset
BUT ITS ALL ON THE CLOUD
Yes! But with a limited closed proprietary functionality set.

What kind of Lean (In terms of RAM, CPU, BANDWIDTH, STORAGE) systems do we need?
Maybe the IETF is right… aren’t they? That we need completely new architectures and platforms for such scale and purpose!
