was established in 1998 as a joint venture of Poland’s largest pro-ducers of greases, Petrochemia Płock, Rafineria Trzebinia, Rafin-eria Czechowice, and Rafineria Jedlicze. INNOVATION AND EXPERIENCE

ORLEN OIL has production facilities in Płock, Trzebinia and Jed-licze. Each of the plants specialises in production of differentmaterials or components, which are then used in successivestages of production to deliver finished products.

Production Plant in Płock is responsible for the production of base oil – the main ingredient used in the production of lubri-cating oils.The quality of the greases results in large measure from the technical properties of the base oils used in their manufacture. ORLEN OIL monitors every phase of the production process, and by using our own basic raw materials for the production of oils, we are able to maximise the competitiveness of the company’s products in the demanding European common market.

Whether used in cars, machines or in the bottle on shop shelves, engine oils and special-purpose oils seem to be rather an ordi-nary thing. In truth, their manufacture requires advanced tech-nological processes, cutting-edge equipment and top-quality components – all of which are available at our Trzebinia Plant, where, among others products, our state-of-the-art PLATINUM brand oil is produced. With a fully computer-controlled quality system and a world-class modern production line, the oils pro-duced in Trzebinia guarantee the highest standards of quality.

The production plant in Jedlicze specialises mainly in the pro-duction of transmission, hydraulic and machinery oils, as well as automotive and industrial greases. A broad range of special-purpose products for various industries are also produced there. Top-quality production is ensured by the plant’s modern pro-duction line and experienced staff.

POWERFUL AND EFFICIENT DISTRIBUTION

For a company who is already the leading producer of greases, one of the main objectives is to establish strong and reliable dis-tribution system, designed to ensure maximum availability of the products they offer for customers.

To pursue this strategy, a three-channel distribution model has been implemented by ORLEN:

The Regional Distribution Centre network extends throughout Poland. These Regional Distribution Centres play an important role in the execution of ORLEN OIL’s commercial policy. They work with Supported Wholesalers, industrial plants, transport facilities, repair facilities, filling stations, and automotive shops, co-ordinating local promotional and sales activities.

Particular emphasis is laid on co-operation with automotive service and garages all over Poland. We work to offer service facilities and garages the opportunity to participate in compre-hensive technical and marketing support programmes for the sales of ORLEN OIL’s products.

The distribution network operates with the contribution of Sup-ported Wholesalers in the local markets.

INTERNATIONAL SALES

ORLEN OIL is rapidly expanding its sales of base oils and ready-to-use greases in European markets. A particularly large increase in sales figures is being observed in the industrial greases sector.

The most fundamental and best-established internationalmarkets for ORLEN OIL are the other EU countries: the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Austria, Germany, and Holland, as well as non-EU European countries: Croatia, Belarus, Ukraine, Serbia and Montenegro.

In order to support the international sales, we conduct market-ing as well as logistics support, and technical consultancy serv-ices. In the years to come, the company plans to expand its presence in the rapidly growing Eastern European markets.


RESEARCH

The introduction of new technologies, both in the automotive and industrial sectors, compels lubricant suppliers to develop new products while meeting the highest of quality require-ments.

In the automotive sector, in order to continue to comply with the changing laws regulating emissions of pollutants from vehi-cle exhaust systems into the environment, new technologies are being introduced every year.In 2006, with the introduction of the Euro 4 environmental standard , ACEA and API, the institutions responsible for certify-ing oil products, adjusted their requirements accordingly.ACEA introduced new categories of motor oils for petrol and diesel engines with catalytic converters and filtering devices, meeting the requirements of Euro 4. The subsequent Euro 5 standard has been in effect since 2009.API introduced the SM, a new top-quality class for motor oils. Following the new classification of ACEA and API, the leading car manufacturers are implementing their new specifications. Inthe industrial sector the demand continues to rise for synthetic and biodegradable oils and greases with approvals from the lead-ing machinery manufacturers (Flender, Siemens, ZF, MAN, MB).This applies principally to such sectors as power, transport, mill-ing and mining industry.

In accordance with its strategic plan, ORLEN OIL is committed to ongoing consultations with the world’s leading additive pro-ducers, concerning new technologies in motor oils to meet the requirements of the new ACEA European specification, and with major car manufacturers in Europe such as Daimler AG, MAN, Volkswagen, Renault.

The collaboration with worldwide additive suppliers also covers the basic studies and application tests as well as research into new technologies for industrial oils and greases. While develop-ing new product technologies, ORLEN OIL is also working with leading national scientific institutions, such as the Oil and Gas Institute in Krakow and the Institute for Fuels and Renewable Energy in Warsaw.

The research and development activities are focused mainly on meeting the needs of customers, equipment manufacturers, and the market as a whole while satisfying legal requirements.

API SL/CF – motor oil specifications according to the American quality classification established by the API (American Petroleum Institute).

SL/CF – multipurpose oils that can be used both with petrol (S – Service) and diesel engines (C – Commercial).

Letter “L” – in “SL” — denotes the quality class used for petrol engines. The quality class increases with the suc-cessive letters of the alphabet: SA, SB, SC, SD, SE, SF, SG, SH, SJ, SL, SM.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:Greasen EP -23 is a complex lithium grease with the content of molybdenum disulfide (3%), resistant to moisture, steam and light acids, bases and vibra-tion, high pressures and shock loads.

APPLICATIONS:GREASEN EP-23 is dedicated to lubricate heavy loaded friction centres oper-ating in temperatures between –30°C and +140°C. It is recommended to be applied everywhere, where frequent direction changes or simultaneous low speed and high loads occur, e.g. constant velocity universal joints.

APPLICATIONS:Vehicle plastic grease GREASEN 1S is mainly used to lubricate shifter sleeve of the drive shaft every 30000 km, as directed by the user’s manual of the vehicle. It s also used to lubricate joints of the main drive shaft and other elements, as directed by the user’s manual of the vehicle.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:Calcium grease with the consistency class of 1. Its base is mineral oil with viscosity of 36-60 mm2/s at 50°C.

APPLICATIONS:GREASEN STP is dedicated exclusively for periodical lubrication of vehicle chassis, pins, articulations, and guides in the temperature range of -20°C and +60°C. With its soft consistency, the grease allows easy use of lubrication de-vices such as pneumatic grease guns. It is highly resistant to cold water. Not suitable for lubrication of roller bearings and water pumps.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:GREASEN GRAFIT is a mineral oil based calcium grease with viscosity of ca. 11mm2/s at 1000C containing minimum 10% of natural graphite.

APPLICATIONS:GREASEN GRAFIT is dedicated to lubricate: automotive suspension springs, open toothed gears, worm gears, threads of screws exposed to corrosive agents, chains and other heavily loaded friction centres operating in temper-atures between -200C and +600C. It may be applied as an assembly grease. It is highly resistant to cold water. It cannot be used to lubricate any vehicle elements except for suspension springs. Not suitable for anti-friction bear-ings and other precision mechanisms.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:The plastic grease is produced through densification of highly refined min-eral oil with lithium soap of 12 hydroxystearate acid. LITEN ŁT-4P greases are enriched with anti-oxidation and anti-corrosive additives as well as addi-tives improving lubricating properties. They are high quality multipurpose greases.

APPLICATIONS:LITEN ŁT-4P grease is produced in 1, 2 and 3 consistency classes. It is used for lubricating of covered rolling bearings operating in temperatures between - 30°C and + 150°C in conditions requiring the following properties: resistance to oxidation, corrosion protection, resistance to water and mechanical stabil-ity. LITEN ŁT-4P may also be used to lubricate sliding bearings.
