Urban Transformation Vehicle

Los Angeles is a huge city congested with too many people and cars. Also, suburban towns have developed to avoid the highly congested downtown area, yet people still prefer to drive or carpool to get to downtown instead of using public transportation. Because of this, many people waste their time on the road because of heavy traffic, long commuting distances, and no parking spots.

Problem Statement

Los Angeles has.. - Highly congested streets - Low public transportation system usage - Limited amount of parking spaces

Future Scenario

In 2050 Los Angeles, accessing some congested areas such as Hollywood & Downtown will cost expensive tax unless there are more than three people. The city of Los Angeles established laws and improved infrastructure to ban private vehicles to increase the usage of smaller mobility devices like Segways & bikes. The city instead built giant parking spaces outside downtown so people could use their bikes and mass transit. It has become common for people to have smaller bikes that fit into their cars. The bike lanes network allows people to arrive at their destinations more efficiently than ever before.

Solution Statement

The city suggests people use smaller vehicles such as bikes downtown. Bike lanes are expanding as well, and some people are carrying bikes inside of their cars. This concept vehicle allows you to store a small bike inside of your car which saves time and space. - Parking in lower density areas - Using smaller monocycle on local streets

It was widely publicized in 1962 by the French engineer Pierre Bezier, who used them to design automobile bodies at Renault. It is a parametric curve frequently used in computer graphics and related fields these days. Later it has developed as an art concept. For example, straight lines corresponding to different positions at slightly different angles to give the appearance of a curve.

Aesthetic Message in Design

Choose an historical art movement and represent its design elements, philosophy, and atmosphere in a car’s interior design. This project was driven entirely by aesthetics.

Similar to High Renaissance’s aesthetic features, the abstract form captures the harmony of straight and natural curves. It creates high contrast and enhances the subject. The oval represents the main character, possibly human, that is a recurring theme in Renaissance paintings.

Portable Assisted Mobility Device

Personal mobility will change in the future, especially within the urbanized world. These changes are most likely to occur due to expected increases of urban density that will cause stresses on mega cities as they expand. This will create tremendous pressures in the form of pollution, energy consumption, congestion, and traffic safety. These mega cities will be so dense that the place for the traditional car will rapidly decline. Plans for the future must address the development of new mobility options. Thus, in response to these predictions of increased urban density, this project proposes the new urban mobility device for the future.

The target group is the commuting population in Tokyo. It has lots of foreign citizen population, because a high percentage of the active workers in Tokyo live on provinces near the central city. According to the research, there are about 2 million of the people who work in Tokyo are coming from the surrounding prefectures.
