This summer has been exciting, challenging, inspiring and humbling. Exciting because there have been many camps, Holiday Bible Clubs and 5-Day Clubs ® reaching many precious children. Challenging because in the middle of sometimes difficult situations and circumstances, God challenged us to pray specifically and watch His hand at work. We have been inspired to pray harder and work harder as we witnessed the power of God and the power of prayer throughout the summer! We were humbled as we continually realised that we could do nothing in our own strength. Training It has been a privilege for us this summer to be involved in training others at both the Summer Outreach Training Course in Kilkeel and the CMLC at Kilchzimmer. Many of the young people who attended the Summer Outreach Training Course took what they learnt and used it in various ministries this summer at camps and 5-Day Clubs. More children were reached because they were trained to share the gospel. Teaching at the CMLC in Kilchzimmer was a real privilege for us as we were teaching people who feel called by God to serve Him in reaching children with the good news of the gospel. Equipping The Multi-media team are continually devising new and interesting material to assist you as you seek to teach boys and girls about the Lord Jesus, the most recent of which include halloween and Christmas tracts, a CD of children’s songs with backing tracks and a Christmas pack for use in Christmas clubs. To avail of these please contact your local CEF worker or the CEF shop in Belfast. “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” Mark 16:15 cont’d on back page autumn newsletter 2012.indd 1 28/08/2012 16:45

Can you believe that those long summer days that stretched out before us at the end of June, full of plans

for wonderful opportunities in outreach, have quickly come to an end? The workers and volunteers can all say that it is an almighty God we serve. We praise Him for His faithfulness displayed in all summer ministries. We thank YOU all for your prayerful support as you partner with us in the work.

During July we were blessed to have good helpers. Two boys from the North, who had helped last year, returned with another helper! One girl who is only 16 completed the training week in Rossnowlagh and is truly gifted to work with children. We have been so encouraged by her willingness to help. One new area in Moyross gave us some reason for concern. The fi rst day, after gathering the children, a group of teenage boys arrived and disrupted the club, so for the safety of the children we had to stop the club. Praise God we were able to go back every day. David kept a watchful eye while we enjoyed teaching the children. God is faithful. We feel it was a real testimony to the parents that we were willing to continue. Please pray for those who listened intently to God’s Word. Thank you for your prayers.

Thank you so much for praying for our Wexford camp in the new Faith Mission camp centre in Durrow. We praise God for a real sense of His presence in every aspect of the camp. It was wonderful to see children who had never been to camp before and don’t come from Christian homes, taking part in discussion and sharing how they have trusted the Lord through Good News Club®. Cory from a troubled background blossomed during the week, and at the end of camp received a Bible and made a fresh commitment to read it when he is at home. Praise the Lord for answering prayer and blessing us with a very special week.

God has worked in a mighty way in the salvation of many children.  Over 24 children were counselled for salvation and other children were counselled for encouragement about their Christian walk. Some children came with tears of repentance to put their hope in the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for praying for the children as they were taught God’s Word. God used His powerful Word in their young lives.  Some of the clubs were tough as the spiritual battle took place in their young lives, praise God the Lord Jesus has already won the battle over sin and death and satan. Children now have their names written in the book of life through the ministry of the Run the Race Holiday Bible Clubs.  Thank God for all who prepared this material for His Glory.

Praise God for a wonderful CYIA™ week in North West Ulster. It was a week with many challenges. With each challenge the young people persevered and we had some amazing prayer times

together. In one particular area there were no children for the fi rst two days. I suggested that the team went to another area. There were no kids there either and after

going to two more areas they decided that they should go back to the fi rst area. Unknown to us (but not to our Heavenly Father) a Christian

lady was waiting there to offer her garden for the club. So kids came and for three days heard the gospel message. On the last

day one of the team asked the children to tell someone if they had trusted in Christ. One little boy said he had, and proceeded to

retell the story of Philip and the Ethiopian. He told, how when he got home the previous night, he had read his Bible for

two hours and asked Jesus to take away his sin. What a joy for the team!!! When I got home that night I watched the

Olympic opening ceremony and it just dawned on me that it was nothing compared to the party in heaven!!!

The teaching this year at junior camp was from the Life of Ruth. The major part of the teaching was “How the Lord has a plan for your life” which dovetailed perfectly with the application through the missionary challenge to the young

Christian. It’s thrilling to hear from a Christian child, aged 10, that he thinks that the Lord has a plan of future service in store for him; one day he might be your

Pastor. Another exceptional example of God’s plans unfolding at camp was through a young lad, who booked into camp the day before it was due to begin, and he trusted Christ as his Saviour on Tuesday. He was able to testify on Friday evening how he could see that it was God’s plan for him to be at camp where his

life was changed. God’s plans for all these young people are still unfolding.

We had a 5-Day Club in Model Farm in Downpatrick, one of the toughest housing estates in the area.  The last attempt to go in there several years ago had to be abandoned due to the level of violence

against the team. This year we asked our committee to pray specifi cally for the club. Each day 15 children attended and we had no problems whatsoever!

Also, at one of our clubs the team managed to lock the car keys in the boot of the car, meaning that all their materials for the Club were locked inside. The children were waiting for the club, but the team could do

nothing but pray - then after a few minutes an Electricity Board van pulled up, and the driver was able to put a length of wire through a partially open window and open the car! God answers prayer in all kinds of

circumstances!

Two teenage girls told me that their favourite part of camp was ‘Quiet Time’.  They have recently become Christians

and have a real desire to learn from God’s Word.  Praise God for answering prayer during camp and for 4 children, whom we know

of, who trusted in the Lord Jesus as their Saviour.

SupportingOur CEF family of workers always needs your support. We ask you to continually pray for the children, for our workers, and for those from Ireland called to go to reach children in other parts of the world. Please also pray for the fi nancial needs of the mission. We humbly rely on God to meet our needs. Pray that God will raise up more fi nancial supporters, enabling more workers to be trained and sent to the fi eld to reach the children. So much has happened this summer! Thank and praise God with us for many children who have been reached with the Gospel, many of them had never heard before!

Philip Annett(National Director)

Congratulations to Matthew Berry & Therese and Andrew

Adamson & Rebecca on their recent weddings. Our prayer

is that God would bless them as they set out on their lives

together.

We are pleased to welcome into the CEF family three new

candidates. Matt & Adele Corke have already completed

a Bible College Course and the CMLC at Kilchzimmer.

Their training will mostly be in the South of Ireland. Helen

McCune is currently completing the CMLC and hopes in the

long term to develop a ministry and resources for special

needs children. Please pray for these new candidates in

the early days of their training.

Fiona Harrington (Cork) has come to the end of her

candidacy and indicated that she would not be coming

into CEF full-time. She appreciated her time with CEF and

learnt a lot. Please continue to pray for her as she seeks

the Lord’s will for the next step in her life.

We extend our sincere sympathies to Angie McKee on the

recent homecall of her father. Please continue to remember

Angie, her brother and the family circle in these days.

Congratulations to Stephen & Tanya Hamilton on the birth

of Caleb on 20 July. We wish them every blessing as they

seek to bring this little one up for the Lord.

Carol Cromie’s husband, David, had surgery for total knee

replacement at the beginning of August. They would value

your prayers for a complete and speedy recovery.
