Thursday 28 November 8pmFemale GothicRebecca VaughanIn the unquiet, stygian darkness between life and death, a lone, haunted woman tells chilling tales of the macabre and terrifying, illuminating the curious frailties of human nature...

The Victorian fascination with tales of mystery and the supernatural created an enduring legacy of Gothic fiction; but it is often the male writers that we remember. Many thrilling and eerie stories from the great female writers of that era have gathered dust and been forgotten. Until now.

This dark celebration of female gothic is adapted and performed by Rebecca Vaughan (Austen’s Women, I, Elizabeth, The Diaries of Adam and Eve).

Sunday 15 December 2.30 & 7pmNativity in CreakebottomSlingshot Theatre

Somewhere in deepest Suffolk lies the flat and technologically dated village of Creakebottom, home to Gus Blathermouth and the All-Male Amateur Dramatics Society of Creakebottom, aka the AMADSC!

£10.00 | £8.00 family of 4 £30

Let your imagination run wild this Christmas, as Cirencester College BTEC Performing Arts students present Seussical the Musical. Join The Cat in the Hat as he takes you on a journey into the fantastical, bombastical and songtastical world of Dr Seuss.

Horton the Elephant discovers a small world floating by on a speck of dust, containing Whos, including Jojo - a Who with too many “thinks”. Between them they must find a way to save Who from a world of naysayers and dangers.

But Horton faces a double challenge, he’s been left alone to guard an egg, abandoned by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.

A new Theatre Festival brings theatrical big-hitters from “that London” to Creakebottom’s bumpy hills, handing the AMADSC an unprecedented platform for their undiscovered genius and a stage for the birth of their new brainchild: ‘The Birth of Jesus’.

Alone, and caught between a dust speck and guarding the egg, he faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and ends up on trial, but little does he know the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him.

This thrilling Christmas production will bring to life some of the best loved characters from the world of Dr Seuss, and promises to be a toe tapping, finger snapping fun day out for audiences of all ages!

This amateur production is presented by arrangement with:
