An avalanche is a series of a snow surge that usually occurs in mountainsides and slopes covered in snow. Avalanches are one of the most dangerous disasters in a snowy mountain. Avalanches occur when a place has too much snow, and the top snow flow down to a flatter surface. Avalanches can also occur when a skier was maneuvering too much and the snow that was taken out from the trail fell down the mountain, or when an earthquake shook the mountain, forcing the snow to fall down. Many people are killed in avalanches, one if them is the group of hikers in 1996, when an avalanche triggered, that killed eight people, and fifteen in the season.
