Professional/Personal Background (1 or 2 concise paragraphs)Jeff Flake was born in Snowflake, Arizona in 1962. Flake served a Mormon mission in southern Africa and then graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in international relations. After his B.A. he received his M.A. from BYU in political science. While at BYU Jeff met his wife Cheryl.
In 1987 he began work for a public affairs firm in D.C. and later moved to Namibia working as executive director or a Foundation for Democracy. In 1992 him and his family moved back to Arizona and became executive director of the Goldwater Institute. Currently Jeff is serving in his 6th term of congress and lives in Mesa with his wife and their five children.
District InformationDistrict 6 of Arizona includes parts of Mesa and Chandler and all of Gilbert, Queen Creek, and Apache Junction. The total population is 931,574. This district has a high Mormon population as well as a large
