With the resurgence of mid-century modern, to urban

design trends, mixing modern materials is more

popular than ever in the architectural world. And the

benefits are clear. When you pair the clean lines of

concrete and glass with warm wood tones, the result

is a home or living space that feels cutting edge and

After applying traditional wood to several modern

home projects in the Orlando area, the architects at

Corbelo became frustrated. Within a year, homeowners

were complaining of fading, bending, splintering and

endless maintenance. Sanding and re-staining was a

short-term fix. What they really needed was a better

solution.

With minimal modifications to create a clean

tongue-and-groove look, Corbelo’s build crew found

application fast and easy – much like regular siding.

For one home in particular, the challenge was to spec

the right color to match the wood garage door and

real wood soffit already on the home. AZEK delivered
