Another case of eviction under dis-tressing circumstances Is that of VictorCohen and his wife and two young chil-dren, at 104 Forsyth street. Cohen Isa poor cobbler und had lived with hisfamily In the basement of the housefor three yeats and a half.

Business grew poor, and Cohen wasunable to pay his rent. Agent MorrisLevy, who represents Sarah Uuvls, thelandlady of the house, hung out a "Tolet" card at Cohen's door and rentedthe rooms to another person, with theunderstanding that Cohen would moveon Feb. 1.

Hut Cohen did not move, and on Feb.2 Levy got a dispossession notice fromJustice Iioeseh, who gave Cohen Avedays to get out. One of Cohen's chil-dren, a vear and seven months' old, be-came vety 111, and he could not moveout of the rooms on Monday last, Feb.G. The next dav Marshal Hlrschtleldevicted him, although Dr. Shenkmansaid It would be dangerous to take thochild out of doors.
