10:00AM to 7:00PM, and Sunday, March 3, from 9:00AM to 2:00PM.
(Please note corrected dates.) Rent one table for $20 or two or more

starting next weekend. We also need bakers to donate homemade
goodies to the ever-popular bake sale.
Donate items to the parish tables ~ Don’t want to
rent a table of your own? Here is your chance to get
rid of your treasured items that are too good to toss.
Leave them in the Rest-A-While bench, clearly
marked for rummage, or bring them to the parish
office during business hours by the end of February.
Please help spread the word about the rummage sale—post a
flyer at work or in a business you frequent, talk about the event on
your social media sites, and invite family, friends, co-workers, and
neighbors.

In today’s readings, both Isaiah and Peter hear the call of God and feel themselves unworthy. But, reassured by the Lord, both answer and
follow. Do I hear the Lord asking, “Whom shall I send?” Am I prepared to answer,
“Here I am. Send me!”?

Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sleeping Bag Ministry to meet The Sleeping Bag Ministry will meet on Saturdays,
February 23 and March 16, from 9:00 to 11:00AM in
the cafeteria. This is an ecumenical endeavor, not
only tri-parish. Come make a new friend and help the
homeless in the process. No sewing experience is
necessary.
Tri-parish Read: I Want to See See the insert in next weekend’s bulletin regarding our NMCP Lenten
effort. Join us as our three parish communities read I Want to See by
Fr. Roc O’Connor, SJ. This book will lead us through a reflection on
how we can find joy, hope, and peace in ourselves and in the world
as we open ourselves to Christ on the Path to Life. More information
and a small group registration form will be included on the flyer.
Mardi Gras Casino Night 2019 Saint Catherine is “letting the good times roll” before the start of Lent
with their 8th Mardi Gras Casino Night on Saturday, March 2, in their

Donate desserts to fish fry A popular part of our fish fry is the delicious array of
desserts. Please consider donating a homemade or
store-bought dessert for us to sell. Items can be
dropped off in the parish office on fish fry Friday
during the day or in the kitchen right up until the fish
fry start time. Thanks!
Live the Liturgy Have you ever felt a compelling urge to respond to a situation and then found yourself questioning whether you should do so? Fear often takes hold of us, and we find ourselves making excuses for why it is better to just mind our own business. There is a voice within each of us that is saying, “Follow me.” What does this prompting mean? The purpose of discipleship is not to secure our own station in life and enhance our comfort zone. Discipleship is about taking risks and venturing forth into the unknown, tending to the needs of others and being prophetic voices of change. We will not drink deeply of life until we listen to the voice of God within. When God asks, “Whom shall I send?”, will you reply, “Here I am! Send me!”?

Join us at St. Bernadette Parish, 8200 W. Denver Ave., Milwaukee, as we spend three Sunday afternoons during Lent viewing a movie through the lens of faith, followed by discussion and prayer. All movies will begin at 1:00PM, and post-viewing discussion and prayer will be finished by 4:00PM. Please note the two sets of ratings – one from the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) that is the standard for movie theaters, and one from CNS (Catholic News Service, an affiliated branch of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops). CNS ratings are as follows: A-I: general patronage; A-II: adults and adolescents; A-III: adults; L: limited audience – this classification is applied to movies that are too strong for an A-III but not sufficiently wayward to receive an O (morally offensive). Films that receive an “O” rating from CNS will not be considered for viewing at Faith and Film sessions. March 10: Gattaca (1997 – MPAA rating PG-13; CNS rating A-III) In “the not-too-distant” future, where genetic engineering of humans is common and DNA plays the primary role in determining social class, Vincent (Ethan Hawke) is conceived and born without the aid of this technology. Vincent faces extreme genetic discrimination and prejudice, and the only way he can achieve his life-long dream of becoming an astronaut is to break the law and impersonate a “valid,” a person with appropriate genetic advantage. Themes and focus: How do we value life in today’s world? How do we face our own biases and prejudices against others?
March 24: Coco (2017 – MPAA rating PG; CNS rating A-II) Aspiring musician Miguel, confronted with his family’s ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer. Themes and focus: Family, love, and mercy. Please note: This is a special FAMILY Faith and Film offering. While adults will enjoy this film very much, they are welcome to bring children ages 8 and up to view this film, and there will be special reflection worksheets for children available. Please feel free to bring your children and grandchildren along to this one! March 31: Won’t You Be My Neighbor? (2018 – MPAA rating PG-13; CNS rating A-III) Charmingly soft-spoken and yet powerfully incisive expressing his profound ideals, Fred Rogers was a unique presence on television for generations. His landmark series, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, was a show that could gently delve into important subjects no other children’s show would have dared. In doing so, Rogers experienced a career where his sweet-tempered idealism charmed and influenced the world whether it be scores of children on TV or recalcitrant authorities in government. However, that beloved personality also hid Rogers’ deep self-doubts about himself and occasional misjudgments even as he proved a rock of understanding in times of tragedy for a world that did not always comprehend a man of such noble character. Themes and focus: How can one person make a difference in the world?
Movies will be shown in the cafeteria. For more information, contact Valerie Adamski at 414-358-4600, ext. 148, or [email protected]. Admission is FREE. Feel free to bring snacks for yourself or snacks to share. Refreshments will be provided as well.
