BOARD REPORT
The Board met in August and reviewed the monthly financials, deed restriction violations and delinquent accounts. Quotes for the erosion at the Plaza Bella Way were reviewed along with quotes for repainting the pool fence and the Board decided to wait until the fall for both projects. The Board will be reviewing a policy for home based businesses to be adopted in the future along with new pool rules. The drainage area at the Plaza Bella Way entrance has been cleared to improve safety when leaving the subdivision and that project was paid for by the BV MUD. At least two Red Oak Trees along Dies Ranch Road will need to be removed and several irrigation repairs have been completed.
Monthly Board meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month and a notice will be posted on the Bella Vista website with the location at least 3 days before the meeting. If you would like to receive an email of the meeting notice, please register on the Bella Vista website under “email bulletins.”
Sincerely, Bella Vista HOA Board of Directors s

SAFETY ReminderDid you know that burglars will always check to see if the front
door is unlocked before entering a home?An unlocked front door has been reported as one of the most
common mistakes made by homeowners. Statistically most people leave their homes through the garage these days and don’t even walk past the front door; or we presume it is locked and forget to actually check and ensure it is locked. Additionally, in our rush to get on the road, we often fail to arm the security system which is another major mistake made by many homeowners.
Please check the front door and set your home security system when leaving!

Plant in the fall when the temperature is cooler and rainfall is more plentiful. Choose shrubs and groundcovers instead of turf for hard-to-water areas such as steep slopes and isolated strips.

Bella VistaTennis Tips
By USPTA/PTR Master Professional Fernando Velasco Owner, Manager and Director of Tennis Grey Rock Tennis Club, Austin, TX
Starting with this issue, I will be giving tips on the fundamentals of the game of tennis. We will begin with the forehand groundstroke:
• Step 1: Early Anticipation: The upper body turns with the right wrist slightly cocked back and level with the shoulder. Notice the eyes focused toward the incoming ball and the balance of the left hand in front of the body. The left foot started to move forward and it is pointing to the point of contact.
• Step 2: Point of contact: Once the racquet starts accelerating, the right wrist is still slightly cocked back, but will have a small snap when making contact with the ball. Optimum point of contact is in front of the opposite foot. Notice that the eyes are still focused on the tennis ball
• Step 3: Follow Through: Once the ball has made contact with racket, the arm needs to follow through for a long period of time to allow maximum compaction of the ball and help from the strings and the frame. Notice that the body has slightly turned watching where the ball is landing. The knee has flexed some to allow more flexibility and power for the ball.
• Step 4: If the racket has great momentum, let it continue coming through the body and finish it around the neck. This will allow for a more powerful impact and depth on the ball. The smile on her face shows that she hit a great shot!!
Look for next Issue: The Backhand Groundstroke
