Service Learning When you address a community/global
need through the authentic curriculum of the classroom
BA EMPTY BOWLS Hunger was our issue, and Ms. Jennifer
Deal wanted to recreate the Empty Bowls project here in Broken Arrow to raise awareness about hunger and to put on a fundraiser to help fight it here in BA.
My job---organize fundraiser and also help facilitate other class projects/assignments to support the notion of eradicating hunger

learning project in some way
$3100 raised for these great organizations: Broken Arrow Neighbors and BA Food for Kids
Next year, our goal is $5000 and at least10 teachers participating with service learning projects in their classrooms
