President’s Report

Hello BAARS Members and Supporters,

In February (2/28), we’re pleased to announce that we will be featuring Dr. Kerry

Kriger who will be speaking on Frog and Amphibian Conservation. Dr. Kriger runs

www.savethefrogs.com, which is the first (and only) public charity dedicated to

amphibian conservation. The chytrid fungus and habitat destruction are two major

factors that are decimating the populations of frogs worldwide. All funds raised at

this meeting will be donated to www.savethefrogs.com.

Please, come to this very special General Meeting and support Save The Frogs!

Sincerely,

Scott Alexander, BAARS President, 2014

Treasurer’s Reportby Scott Petersen

This report covers the month of January 2014. A draft budget for the 2014 fiscal year was presented at the January

board meeting. Based upon board review and feedback, it will be updated and represented at the February board

meeting for approval.

January started 2014 with a positive cash flow for the month. Our total income for January was $232.70 with expenses at

$110.98. Not surprisingly, our biggest monthly expense was our general meeting room rent (78%). The next significant

expense was the hardcopy monthly newsletter printing and postage (16%).

Income for the month came from three primary sources: memberships (64%), cash donations as a result of member sold

merchandise (18%), and the raffle that Rhonda organized and ran at the January general meeting (17%).

For the month of January 2014, we had the following allocated funds:

● Salamander Fund: $213

● Tax/Legal Fund: $755

● Petty Cash: $40

As of the end of January 2014, our checking account contained $3298.62.
