TRANSCRIPT
The Task In this WebQuest, you will be comparing the fictional accounts presented by Tina McElroy Ansa in the novel BABY OF THE FAMILY to historical sources to be found on the Internet. You will work as a team of researchers. Each one of you will summarize the story from the point of view of one character (Jonah McPherson or Nellie McPherson, Father O’Donnell, Nurse Bloom, Rachel ). Individually, you will evaluate the story and decide if you think it is an accurate and thorough representation of the historical events as they relate to Macon-Bibb County, Georgia. Each of you will summarize your findings in the form of a typical day for your character, then you will meet as a group and compare your findings to find similarities in parallel situations in the present . You will then show and tell the rest of the class what you have found using a Venn diagram or poem.
