The towns of Jerez, El Puerto de Santa Maria and Sanlucar de Barrameda form the Sherry Triangle - an undiscovered gem brimming with wonderful bodegas, tapas bars, excellent restaurants and a fascinating history.

Boasting unparalleled quality of seafood, charcuterie and wine, you would expect hoards of tourists to visit the region, yet it still remains largely untouched. Spend your days horse-riding in the Andalusian countryside before venturing into the heart of the Sherry Triangle for sherry tasting, mouth-watering lunches and evenings of flamenco.

We promise you, now is the time to visit.

Bacchus design and lead tailor-made tours taking you on an experiential journey of a destination, combining exercise with discovering a place through its local food, wine and people. Their specialist knowledge of the Sherry Triangle through local contacts will give you the chance to unearth the hidden gems; the sherry bodegas, gastronomy and wonderful characters that make the region so special.

THE SHERRY TRIANGLE • ANDALUSIA

In the heart of rich Andalusian countryside, situated 10 kilometres outside Jerez de la Frontera, lies Alcantara Ecuestre. It is a beautiful farm dedicated entirely to horses and equestrian pursuits, run by the charming Alfonso Lopez de Carrizosa and his lovely wife Rocio de la Calle Duran. With beautiful, rustic accommodation available for small groups, it is a fantastic outdoor retreat for horse lovers.

Alfonso has spent his entire life riding and has transformed Alcantara into a place to share and enjoy his passion. His 28 horses, predominantly Spanish-bred, are trained personally by him and his friendly team and can accommodate any level of horse rider - whether going for a hack or learning the ‘Spanish Walk’!

The Lopez Carrizosa family is not just known for its equestrian activities. It is one of the oldest families in Jerez having ousted the Moors from Andalusia during the Crusades in the 12th Century. Alfonso´s father is the current Earl of Peraleja, and with Alfonso you can ride through one of the most emblematic estates in the area, where the famous Carthusian horse was bred.
