What is Internet Computing?Information Technology (IT) is the component of a technology involving the
development, maintenance, and use of computer systems, software, and networks for the processing and distribution of data.
One specific area of IT that has seen a tremendous growth is Internet Computing
Specifically Internet Computing provides new experiences of new technologies and processes in the context of contemporary internet/web applications.
IT professionals strive to solve business/enterprise problems using these computing resources.

Overview of BIT(IC) @OUM The course is concerned with the design and build software systems to
solve real web-based problems.
The skills required of an internet technology specialist include database, web development, system development, human computer interaction, e-commerce, game design, java programming and interpersonal communication skills, team skills and management.
This degree has been designed to meet this need, and will produce graduates who can master the elements of information technology and have the skills that are needed to serve the society and the nation; to work effectively at planning, implementation, configuration and maintenance of their organisation’s computing infrastructure; and to produce computing graduates who have high quality of knowledge on design and development of web solutions.

BITIC will be offered for the first time in JAN 2015. More than 200 part time tutors involved in conducting
the program and dedicated 12 internal lecturers in overseeing the program.

Entry RequirementsEntry Requirements
Normal EntryPassed SPM/SPMV/MCE or equivalent with credit in Mathematics and passed STPM/HSC or equivalent with at least 2 principals (CGPA 2.00); OR
Passed A-Level with at least 2 relevant subjects and passed O-Level or equivalent with credit in Mathematics; OR
Passed a recognized Matriculation / Foundation in relevant field with minimum CGPA 2.0; OR
Passed a recognized Diploma or equivalent in Computer Science / Information Systems / Information Technology / Software Engineering with minimum CGPA 2.5 (CGPA below 2.5 but above 2.0 may be accepted subject to rigorous internal review process); OR
Passed a recognized Diploma with CGPA 2.5 and credit in Mathematics in SPM; OR
Other qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government.
Flexible EntryBe at least 21 years old on 1st of January (application year); AND
Passed at least PMR or equivalent; AND
Possess prior learning experience and / or knowledge relevant to the programme applied; AND
Passed Flexible Entry Assessment.
