What to Expect in Math Using the CCSS, we will
now be going further in depth with each topic.
Study your multiplication facts!
Students will complete notes for class each night for homework.
Study guides will be given to assist each major test.
What to Expect in ELA, Science, & Social Studies
Mrs. Thompson will be teaching ELA. Mr. Quarles will be teaching Social Studies & Science.
You will have nightly homework. Please refer to the agenda every day and help your student develop the habit of checking their work nightly (even the work that they may have completed at school!)

Field Trips This year we are very excited to offer your child a
once in a lifetime opportunity. We will be taking a two night field trip in March to Earthshine! Earthshine is an outdoor education center located in the beautiful mountains of Lake Toxaway, North Carolina. This is an AMAZING experience that we are so excited to provide your child! At Earthshine your child will experience history come to life!
The Earthshine Field trip will be March 14-16th, 2016. The cost for this 3 day, 2 night field trip is $175. This price includes transportation, food, lodging, and all Earthshine activities.

School Notes for 2015-16
SLED Checks: New/expired checks will now cost $25. This is required to chaperone a field trip.
School Registration will be completed online this year.

Snack Information
• Please send a healthy non-sticky snack with your child each day, and one that does not require any utensils or has any dipping side with it (no caramel, ranch, etc… these can be saved for lunch).
• Students are encouraged to bring non-metal water bottles. Please only put water in them (due to ants)!
• Water=H20… not flavored water, Propel, etc.
Final Thoughts
Read and practice multiplication facts each night with your child!
