THE Pied Piper Children’s & Babywear,Laurieton, has been established for over 27years and has been servicing its customersover that time with quality school uniforms forlocal schools.

Proprietor Helen Lewis, pictured, offersprofessional help on fitting uniforms as shebelieves it is important for her customers to besatisfied. The quality uniforms

Helen stocks take the wear and tear ofevery day use - this is a necessity as studentsshould get at least two years’ wear out oftheir uniforms.

In the long term, uniforms are moreeconomical for school than casual clothing. The Pied Piper stocks the complete uniform forSt Joseph’s Primary School, including their newsport polo, and Laurieton Public School. Navyshorts for boys and girls for Kendall Public

School are also available. Cotton Red Robinsocks in white, grey, black and navy arestocked.

Quality brands include Midford, Stubbiesand Scags for durable school wear.

My advice to customers is, “Don’t leave itto the last couple of days to purchaseuniforms.”

With the move to larger, brighter premises inBold Street, The Pied Piper offers more spaceand comfort for everyone to shop.

During the school holidays The Pied Piperhas received numerous wonderfulcompliments about the displays and largevariety of brands and quality clothing theystock.

For your convenience lay-bys are offered, along with Eftpos and credit card facilities.

The StEPS program is an initiative of NewSouth Wales Health and offers all four-year-oldchildren free vision screening before they startschool.

Children rarely complain of eye problems, children may not realise they can’t see well.

Children’s eyes may look OK andparents/carers might think that their child cansee well but some children might still have avision problem.

The only way to tell if a child has a visionproblem is to have the child’s vision testedone eye at a time.

Centrelink have made mandatory the four-year-old Vision screen with StEPS or anOptometrist and the “Healthy Kids Check”(HKC), for the payment of Family Tax BenefitA. For those children starting school in 2014who may have missed StEPS at their Preschoolor childcare centre or who did not attend aPreschool it is recommended to attend ascreening in January, Port MacquarieCommunity Health Centre - Tuesday 21January. For an appointment, contact WendyMutton, StEPS Coordinator, on 6656 7061.
