§ File/Email Restores – Easily restore files or emails

from the BDR appliance by calling our NOC. We will work with you to restore the data to the location of your choice.

one call to our NOC and the BDR appliance is reconfigured to emulate your lost server. You’ll be up and running in no time!

§ Server Restoration – When your new server arrives,

simply call our NOC and your original server’s image is pushed onto it. No lengthy server rebuilding – you’ll be up and running the same day!

§ Disaster Recovery – Your server image is stored at

How it works

Configuration The BDR appliance is configured to backup multiple server platforms and their volumes or logical drives. In addition, the data backup can be scheduled to run during selected times and days of the week. Base Images The base image is the first backup that occurs on the server which is a complete image of the volumes intended for backup. The base image serves as a starting point for all incremental backups. Incremental Backups The Incremental Backups are the changes on the hard drive since the last backup. We monitor the collapsing of daily, weekly, and monthly incremental backups as well as the offsite transfer of daily incremental collapsed images. Incremental Methodology Incremental Methodology performs a backup of all changes since the last backup. Only one full backup or base image is required to run this technology. This greatly reduces the time it takes to perform backups as each Incremental only captures the block level changes since the last backup. Synthetic Incrementals (SI) Synthetic Incrementals (SI) are the result of collapsing multiple Incremental snapshots into a single file or Incremental. The Daily SIs are created at the end of the day leaving you with a single recovery point for that day.

Retention RetroFit’s BDR appliance is capable of maintaining up to 30 days of restore points on the local device. The offsite data is maintained in the form of the last known good backup and is available for Disaster Recovery Virtualization RetroFit’s BDR appliance is capable of virtualizing failed servers while keeping the exact system state previous to the failure. Once virtualized, the server will resume the same backup schedule previous to the failure. Bare Metal Restore When it comes time to restore the Virtualized Server back to physical hardware, RetroFit’s Bare Metal Restore process allows restorations to dissimilar hardware. Monthly Reporting RetroFit’s total Backup Disaster Recovery includes automated Monthly Reports on the status of all backups. Monitoring and Management RetroFit’s total Backup Disaster Recovery (BDR) solution is monitored and managed by our NOC team on a 24x7 basis. If an issue occurs during any backup or with the hardware, RetroFit is immediately notified and will take corrective action.
