ProgrammeThe Municipality, in addition to therehabilitation of the Villas financed by URBAN

II, has already started some interventions, inaccomplishment with the Town-planning, such

as the road connecting the highway to the

coast-line, parkings, some residences and anursery school. This change needs a project of

connection to the existing through therealisation of houses of experimental-

accomodation type and pedestrian paths inthe park of Monaco deep valley, the repair ofMonaco buildings for cultural activities, a plate

of services in the area of access to the newsystem starting from a multilevel parking.

Issuesfunctional : Starting from the repair of Monaco houses, evidence of the ruralculture who founded the town, and in expectation of the new function ofaccessibility to the site, it's defined the necessity to realise a touristic-accomodation facilities for the town.

social : Inside the study area, it's present a residential complex illegallyoccupied and at very high level of social decay, with the addition of the totallack of common spaces and services to residences.

perceptual :The site presents a particular importance of landscape andenvironment tied to the rural mesh of the old countryside of Bagheria, on a

territory needing a connection among the heterogeneous elements through therehabilitation of the environmental and natural quality.
