Invitation to Annual General Meeting Bahrain Investment Professionals Society

The board has the pleasure to invite you to attend the AGM to be held at its head office in Diplomatic Area (Gulf Business Center, Al Salam Tower, 11th Floor, Building 722, Road 1708, Block 317, Diplomatic Area) as per the following schedule:

First Meeting: Date: Tuesday 07 July 2015 Time: 9:00 PM Quorum: Majority. In the event that the quorum is not achieved then the meeting will be postponed to the Second Meeting.

Second Meeting: Date: Wednesday 15 July 2015 Time: 9:00 PM Quorum: One third of the members. If the quorum is not obtained, the meeting shall be postponed to another meeting to be held after a minimum of one hour, and shall be considered valid if 10% of the Members are present.

Agenda: 1. Approve the Agenda2. Discussion and approval of the Annual

Audited Financial Statements of the society3. Reappointment of the auditors4. Presentation of financial plan for the coming

year5. Election of a new board

Our speakers with their geographic expertise across China, India and the Global Markets, were able to attract not only members from CFA Society Bahrain but also the neighbouring region of Saudi Arabia.

Subject: AGM 2015 – Candidate Biographies

1. Ali J. Al‐Moulani, CFA, FRM, CMA Ali is an active member of the economic and finance community in Bahrain and the GCC region. He is member of CFA Society Bahrain since 2009 and a Board Member since 2011. He served as the Society’s Treasury during the period of 2011--‐2014 and has been recently appointed as the Vice--‐President. Al--‐Moulani is also a Board Member of the Bahrain Economic Society and a member of the Gulf Economic Association.

Professionally, Ali is a Senior Manager at NBB and responsible for the Foreign Exchange and Money Market activities of the Bank. He joined NBB in 2005 and assumed various positions within the Treasury and International Banking Group. In addition to being a CFA charterholder, Ali holds the Financial Risk Manager and the Certified Management Accountant certifications.

Al‐Moulani holds an MSc in Development Economics with Distinction from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, and BA (Hons) in Economics for Business from the University of Westminster, UK. In 2013, Ali attended a leadership development program at Darden Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Virginia, USA. Currently, Al‐Moulani is an Executive Doctorate Researcher at the Centre for Economic Performance and Policy, University of Cranfield, UK and is researching the nature of the relationship between banking sector depth and long-term economic growth in the GCC States.

2. Anand Subramaniam, CFA Anand Subramaniam is the Chief Financial Officer at Bahrain National Holdings BSC with 22 years of experience in investments and finance. Anand started his career as a sell side analyst in India covering IT, Hotels, Cement and Aluminum before moving on to fund management. He has extensive experience in the region having worked for the past 15 years in banks and investment companies in Oman and Bahrain.

Anand Subramaniam also holds the CAIA charter and completed his MBA from Sardar Patel Univ., India.

He was involved in CFA Bahrain initiative with EDB for suggesting practical steps that can be taken to improve Bahrain’s investment attractiveness. He believes that the CFA Society, Bahrain can continue to play a key role in raising awareness and professional standards and increase its relevance to members and wider Bahraini society. Anand is a member of the outgoing board of CFA and is the Treasurer since being elected in June 2014.

3. Nada Jamsheer Nada Jamsheer, CFA, a manager at ALUBAF Arab International Bank, is responsible for the bank’s investment portfolios comprised of regional & global equity and fixed income securities. Prior to joining ALUBAF Bank in 2013, Nada was a principal at Tadhamon Capital in the treasury and investments


department managing the company’s fixed income portfolios. Nada has more than 8 years of working experience in capital markets across the region and was awarded her CFA charter in 2010. Nada earned her Bachelors of Commerce degree majoring in Economics from Concordia University, Canada in 2006

4. Mahmoud Nawar, CFA Mahmoud has been an active member since 2009 and currently is the President of CFA Society Bahrain.

He is currently employed by GIB Capital (investment banking arm of Gulf International Bank) as a Vice President, Debt Capital Markets since November 2011. His experience spans 13 years. Prior to GIB he worked for Arab Banking Corporation (now Bank ABC) based in Bahrain as an Assistant Vice President in the Office of Strategy Management (OSM) and Corporate Finance team. Mahmoud joined ABC in October 2007 from Standard Chartered Bank, Dubai where he was a member of the advisory and acquisition finance team covering the ME region. Prior to this he worked at Barclays Bank Egypt and Arab African International Bank where he was a member of the Corporate and Structured Credit team and Corporate team, respectively.

Mahmoud has been a CFA Charterholder since 2006, and a graduate of the American University in Cairo, from where he obtained his BA in finance and later his MBA in international business and marketing.

5. Muizz Alaradi, CFA Muizz has been a CFA charterholder since 2012. He has 7 years of experience in the banking industry and is currently a Corporate Banking Relationship Manager at BBK. Prior to joining BBK, Muizz worked as part of the Corporate Banking & Financial Institutions team at the Arab Banking Corporation (ABC), covering Oman and Bahrain. He is also a member of the Global Shapers Community (an initiative of the World Economic Forum) and an active member of the Manama Hub.

Alongside the CFA charter, Muizz holds an Honors B.Sc, Economics, Quantitative Methods from the University of Toronto, Canada.

6. Sanjeev Bhalla, CFA Sanjeev Bhalla is an Investment Professional with proven ability to manage equity, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity, mutual funds, real estate, options and various structured investment products. He has developed various workable investment strategies with proven results and led a team of analysts and portfolio managers.

He has over 19 years of experience in Investments, Fund Management, Project Appraisal, Structuring Investment Portfolio, Trading in Stocks, Corporate Finance activities. He currently works at Bank of Bahrain & Kuwait (BBK), Bahrain as Head of Portfolio Management and Advisory. Prior to joining BBK, he managed investments at Galfar Investments in Muscat, Axis Bank and RRFC in India.

He is a CFA Charterholder and an MBA with specialisation in FINANCE and SYSTEMS from Birla Institute of Technology, India.
