Tanah Lot temple is located on a rock just oshore. It is saidto be the work o revered 15th century Hindu priest Nirarthaand orms an important element o Balinese spiritualism andmythology. Hence this is a must-see attraction or frst-timervisitors to Bali. As or Mike and Catherine, although theirprevious visit was in 2004, this site is defnitely worth anothervisit.

Here there is a old olk tale about the temple being cursed. Itwas about a princess who was abandoned by her prince and

out o distraught, cast a curse that any unmarried couples whovisited the temple would break up within months ater theydepart. Well, we believed that He who in us is greater that hewho is in this world.

    KINTAMANI HOTSPRINGS

The region o Kintamani is surrounded by the

spectacular caldera o Mt Batur. Upon arriving nearthe peak we wasted no time but to continue withthe descend to one o the hot springs which was thehighlight o the day.

Although costing RP$150,000 per pax, the viewsurrounding the pool is all worth the money. Our2hours o immersing in the mineral laced pool camewith a price though, i.e. sunburn.

Today Mt Batur is still an active volcano and has seensigns o eruption every ew years. But with advanced

seismic monitoring technology, tourists are assured o asae and worry-ree visit.

    ULUWATU

Uluwatu Templeis very much touted as the most beautiul temple inBali. Majestically perched on the hillside acing the Indian ocean, theview here is absolutely awesome. It is best to be visited during sunset.

The glowing rays bouncing o the side o the cli is heavenly or everyphotographers; serious or amateur.

The power o the wind can be elt by simply observing the continuousseries o waves pounding against the rocky shoreline. In thephotograph above, waves rising up to 2meters in height can be seenrushing onto shore with the great power o destruction.

Not orgetting the presence o monkeys. There is a signboard erectedat the entrance to warn visitors against these mischievous monkeys

which may steal loose belonging rom tourists.

Still Jenny ell victim to them when her spectacles were snatchedrom her ace. As a daredevil monkey jumped at her and rano with its loot, the rest o the pack moved in to pull awaysandals rom our eet and also mobile phones rom our hands.

This happened so quickly and it seemed like a well planned andcoordinated attack. Thankully we did not lose more items to them.

However as the saying goes, Old ones dont go, new ones dontcome. Jenny will be happy to shop or a new pair.

Ater the sun gradually vvvvvvvv into the horizon, the crowd alsostarted to dissipate. We realized the monkeys are got bolder as thearea got darker so we hurried ourselves back to our vehicle saelyand a good dinner was our next stop.
