all microorganisms. After EPT treatment, the water will enter ballast tank. During a long time

voyage, the microorganisms and bacteria may grow again in ballast tank by contamination, so

BSKYTM BWMS treat again when discharging in the destination port to meet the requirements for

PSC inspection.

By using the EPT(Enhanced Physical Treatment) technology which adopts the best combination of

Hydrocyclone, US prefilter and UV, the ballast water management system can reduce the power

consumption and increase disinfection performance.

➲ Optimized Hydrocyclone Filtration Technology from BSKY™ BWMS

• Sediments, Foreign articles and microorganisms can be removed by Effect of Hydrocyclone and Gravity

Separation without significantly big Pressure drop. Unlikely with legacy Hydrocyclone technology, BSKY’s

Hydrocyclone has been optimized to fit dedicatedly on BWMS through design facts of down-graded

capacity, angle of Cone body and Air core.

• The model of Hydrocyclone(CY08/CY10/CY12) that designed by BSKY can make normal performance when

inlet pressure of Hydrocyclone is greater than 1.2Bar. As Pressure drop of Hydrocyclone shall be less than

0.6Bar, Possibility to increase Total Head of Ballast Pump and applying Booster pump shall be low.

Dr. Oh who has extensive development experience of marine equipment & academic research and his team

developed BWMS since 2007 with a dedicated efforts. Technically, the EPT(Enhanced Physical Treatment)

technology could comply with IMO & USCG performance requirement and shall be most suitable for marine

environment. Furthermore, a joint venture between Korea and China could fulfill shipowner’s needs with

competitive price.

➲ There will be no sediments(sands) that occupy the spare of your ballast tanks

• According to the experimental data in the coast of Liuheng island of Zhousan in China, The turbidity level of

sea water was 36~1,200NTU. By using Hydrocyclone filtration technology, the transmittance rate can reach

90% through removal of the sediments (sands and microorganisms) together from ballast water.
