The crowded movement in the background suggests the setting is a fair/festival, which is in keeping with the music theme. The rock genre is effectively conveyed through the bold, black clothing e band members are wearing, the colour black has strong relations to the rock genre and darkness. The female band member however is wearing a white shirt, which contrasts effectively to the black; this makes clear that she is the lead singer. BeyoncéThis image is of the world famous, mainstream pop artist Beyoncé, who is an extremely recognisable artist. A very minimal look has been created through the black and white effect the image has been given. This simplicity is also highlighted by the clear lack of make up Beyoncé is wearing, which makes the image more striking. Also because this is a close up image, it appears she is wearing no clothes, which may be trying to appeal to a male audience, as it is quite a provocative image. Also, direct mode of address is being used which is effective as it engages the reader.

One DirectionThis is an image of the mainstream boy band One Direction. The image was taken for use on the bands album artwork. The mise en scene of the image presents them as a fun and exciting band, due to the proxemics, as some are climbing on top of the phone box. The facial expressions are all happy and it is clear they are having fun, this fits with the pop genre. The style that has been created in the picture is overly British, due to the costumes of the band (waistcoats and bow ties) and the use of the red telephone box. The image appeals to a younger age range through the exciting, playful mise en scene.
