FEBRUARY 2011 - CONTINUED ENTHUSIASM!The newcomers that arrived in January are still with us and training with great enthusiasm, which is excellent to see. We had a couple of grading successes too.

February 2011:

We introduced some more difficult physical training during

February, not just more intensive but more difficult movements

too - everyone is coping well.

We’ve been getting a handful of juniors ready for a competition

on March 19th and some others for a grading on March 20th

and we’re encouraging twice a week training and actively

looking for newcomers on Monday nights.

I want to encourage you more to do some regular exercise and

practice outside of the class(es) you attend - talk to me if there

are things you need help with.

I want to see some FULL SPLITS SOON!

Grading Results From February...

We had a grading planned in February

with 4 students ready. Sunday 6th Feb saw

great performances all round impressing Mr

Dennis. Grading passes on this day to:

• Andy Palacpac to 8th Kup

• James Duff (+) to 9th Kup

• Krish Anand to 9th Kup

A special mention to James Duff who

was awarded a Plus Pass, this is a rarely

awarded ‘above average’ pass. James can

now grade in minimum time to 8th Kup.

Jimmy Mason, ill for the grading day,

graded a few weeks later. Jimmy had

nowhere to hide & Mr Dennis only had

Jimmy to examine. Another great

performance:

• JImmy Mason passed to 9th Kup

Mark Boydell Blackbelt AcademiesMr Boydell, 4th Degree, is a good friend

of mine. We trained TaeKwon-Do through the

old ’90’s in Montrose, Scotland, our

instructor was Mr McNairn, 6th Degree. Mr

Boydell, and his wife Mrs Ngaire Boydell, 2nd

Degree, are full time professional instructors

and run several successful TaeKwon-Do

schools.

My wife & I were very happy to be invited

to attend his annual awards night on

February 18th. It’s a real honor to be asked

and we gladly packed our bags and jetted

up to Aberdeen. I also had great pleasure in

being asked to present awards to many of Mr Boydells’ students.

I extend thanks to Mark and Ngaire Boydell for inviting us & showing us

great hospitality & ensuring we had no need for cabs or hire cars.

TaeKwon-Do has been a great way for me to make lasting friendships,
