Baobab oil ( Adansonia digitata)

The gained oil is very skin- fr iendly, and conducive to elast icity . Due to a highconcentrat ion of tocopherols, baobab oil exhibits rem arkable stability . The oilcontains 30 % saturated fat ty acids and 70 % unsaturated fat ty acids. The saturatedfat ty acids are mainly palm it ic acid and stear ic acid and the unsaturated fat ty acidsare mainly oleic and linoleic acid. In addit ion t he oil contains phytosterols like ß-sitosterol and cyclopropene fat ty acids.

Tradit ional usage

So it is used as cosm et ic and in Afr ican m edicine e. g. as a remedy for burns. Baobab

oil is very softening and soothing. I ts applicat ion is recomm ended for pregnant

wom en to increase elast icity of their skin. I t is effect ive for the care of dry or cur ly

hair .

GMO, Ionising Radiation, Nanomaterial and Animal testing

In accordance with regulations (EC) No. 2007/834 genetic manipulations and genetic mani-pulated plants, raw materials and additives are not used for the production of baobab oil.

In accordance with regulations (EC) No. 2007/834 the product was not exposed to ionising radiation.

In accordance with the definition of the European Commission (IP/11/1202 18/10/2011) and regulation (EC) No. 2011/1169 the baobab oil does not contain nanomaterial. Nanomaterials are not added or used for the production.

In accordance with the EU legislation and in special with the regulation 1223/2009

animal testings do not take place with baobab oil.
