What is the purpose of Baptism? Why do we do it?Is it necessary?

Why do we get baptized? Who can get baptized? Jesus did it & commanded it.

Jesus did it as an act of obedience for us to follow. Matt 3:13-15

It marked Jesus’ relationship w/God & start of ministry.

Mark 1:9-11, Luke 3:21-22, John 1:31-34 The apostles taught & required it. Acts 2:38, 8:12, 22:16 Only those who believe should be baptized. Acts 8:36-38

Is baptism necessary to go to heaven? Luke 23:43, Eph 2:8-10, Rom 10:9-10, 13
