Communication Between Scanner and Laptop
The communication is a one-way transfer of the decal number from
the scanner to the laptop. If intercepted, only the number visible
on the decal will be seen. The laptop contains the carrier
information.

Cost of Scanners
California purchased 5 scanners, charging bases, cables to connect the base to the
laptop, extra batteries and a 3 year extended warranty for all 5 scanners. The total cost
was about $5,800.
