Barbies access to different classes, ages, and genders,

→Class: All consumers were able to purchase the Barbie doll if they could afford the doll; the first doll was sold for 3 ponds.

→Age: Barbie dolls are made for every age for that they are a fashion doll but the consumers of an age from 5-10 buy them

more than anything.

→Gender: Males did not have easy access to the doll for that they were a female fashion doll and you would be considered an

outcast for having a "girlie" doll. Females have easy access to the Barbie doll for that they are female as like the doll and girls are

more valuable to the fashion industry.

Stereotypes

Too many people in our Society Barbie reinforce an unhealthy gender role. In Barbie world the ideal women is focused on

fashion and appearance. In 1992 the first 'Teen Talk Barbie' came out which said "Math is tough". Barbie saying this phrase to young girls is conveying a negative concept, that boys are better at math and science than girls. Barbie didn't originate such concepts, but

through her focus on appearance and an unhealthy physique, she reinforces negative stereotypes about girls and women.

Barbie has also contributed to the positive aspects of our society, even though a lot of people argue for the negative side others can

also argue for the positives. Barbie has shown a lot of positive academics, simple positive feminine ideas, and some

multiculturalism.

The role of official and unofficial censorship of Barbie & Barbie related to power and authority

There is no official censorship on Barbie but there is a lot of

unofficial censorship such as parents and/or guardians not letting

their daughters play with Barbie dolls.

The control of Barbie comes done to the parents and guardians thoughts and perceptions on

Barbie. The children do not have any control over the choice to get

Barbie when they are younger, their parents or guardians do. The guardians have the power to say

'no' to their children about Barbie and they have to authority to take

it out of their lives.

Way in which Barbie may have

contributed to social change

A way in which Barbie has contributed to social changeis by her, herself. She is described as the beauty. Theword "beauty" contains a meaning that is complex yetsimple. It is an outward appearance, a feeling, and afact of social change. A woman who desires to bebeautiful is trapped in the meaning of what it actuallymeans. Barbie has shown the world that she hascontributed to society by her beauty and even thoughnot always in a positive way she shows beauty inmulticulturalism , academic achievements, ethnicityand our own perceptions of ourselves.

Continuity and change in relation to Barbie

•The continuity and change throughout Barbie goes with what is popular in today’s society, such as the hairstyles, clothing and job status.

•When Barbie was first released she was an elegant young lady, for example she wore long gowns and had her hair pinned back as her everyday clothes

and for her swimwear she wore a full piece suit with a swimming cap.

•This Barbie was an exact model of what the young ladies were in that time and society.

•Now she wears what young ladies wear nowadays, for example short dresses with high heels and a brand handbag.

* Barbie’s hair is also with a fringe and comes with all different hairstyles.

* Barbie’s swimwear nowadays is a bikini which only covers her private parts..

Continuity and change in relation to barbie

Barbies jobs has also evolved over the years, Mattel had considered women’s right as the time went on.

Throughout the years she has had various careers that were in education, medicine, the military, Politics, public services, science

and engineering, transportation and many more.

When she was first released she had many feminine based jobs, such as hairdresser, fashion model, cheer leader, ballerina and elementary

teacher.

Nowadays Barbie has been released as high achievers, and equal job rights as men such as a Peditritian, Vet, Nurse, Dentist, President of

America, Police officer, astronaut and many more.

The continuity and change of Barbie relies on our society and culture at the time, Barbie evolves as we evolve.

The implications of globalisation for Barbie

Globalisation can be defined as the increasing economic and financial integration of economies around the world. The implications that globalization has upon Barbie is the world now spread of all her

merchandise.

Barbie is being globalised to make changes that are taking place to remove national boundaries from the financing, production, sale and

distribution of goods and services to make Barbie accessible to all consumers. Barbie isn’t yet all the way around our world because of the financial services and her national boundaries, such as she is too much

money and her racial status.

The globalisation of Barbie will be a slow and long process, but this will implicate the company for that they are seen as 'unequal' for not

distributing their goods all over.

Technology so far has had a huge impact on Barbie, she hasevolved to Movies, Television shows, she can talk, she cansing, and she even has her own sound effects to hertransportation and other accessories.

There has been many new evolved Barbie’s, compared to theold elegant plain, original Barbie fashion doll.

Mattel uses the technology to their advantage, makingbetter television ads so children can learn about theirproducts, making and producing movies so they can rely apositive image of Barbie helping her friends.

All the technology that Mattel has interacted into Barbie hashad a huge impact on sales, consumers, financing, andproduction of the Barbie merchandise.
