Barcelona Photographer’s mission is to provide the best and most complete offer of professional services for both corporate and private clients from all over the world, combining flexibility with both aesthetic and communication requirements.

Barcelona Photographer is directed by the German photographer and art director Katherin Wermke since 2005, co-ordinating a multicultural group of photographers who master various languages. Katherin is founder of the photo studio Distritovisual (www.distritovisual.com).

Advertising PhotographyThe actual overabundance of commercial messages constitutes a challenge for creative directors worldwide. Increasingly it is more difficult to capture the attention of the consumer. Using various photographic techniques, different modes of illumination and post-production digital retouching, we create high-impact visual images for publicity campaigns, for product catalogues, packaging, company presentations and web pages guaranteed to hook the most discerning consumer.

Fashion & People We undertake both fashion and editorial campaigns. The production side of our fashion photography is perfectly complemented by the exceptional work of our internationally experienced team of make-up artists and stylists. Since 2007 we have shot both the catwalk and backstage for the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York.We undertake personalised photographic shoots both for models and professionals from other disciplines who require high quality documentation in order to promote their work, personality and objectives.

Corporate PhotographyPhotography or video are the ideal vehicle for registering the work, values and collective history of the members of a company. A new headquarters, a new addition to the professional team, a press conference, executive meetings or working breakfasts have all been recorded by our cameras at our clients request. With these objectives in mind, we have created team building activities tailored for each group. The Photographic Gymkhana is just an example of our team building activities. Urban Photo ShootingA fresh and original idea created following the specific interests of our clients. We propose a 4 hour photographic session in our studio and in exterior settings in and around Barcelona, with the assistance of a make-up artist and stylist in order to achieve the desired result. If you require a unique record of a business trip or honeymoon in Barcelona, we will design a specific photography session for you. Together we can create an unforgettable memory.

PhotographicBarcelona DayDiscover Barcelona through the eyes of a professional photographer. The elegance and originality of the Passeig de Gràcia with its Modernist architecture, the liveliness of the Rambles, the magic of the old buildings of the Raval or the unforgettable alleys of the Gothic Quarter all provide the perfect backdrop to practice photographic technique with Katherin Wermke, the director of Barcelona Photographer and her multilingual team of photographers.The duration of the personalised tours is 3 to 4 hours, and participants may bring along a partner without extra charge.We organise trips to Montserrat, where the monastery of the same name is situated on the mountain’s peak. We also organise trips to Sitges, a picturesque Mediterranean village replete with whitewashed lanes leading to the sea.

Barcelona NightOur nocturnal tours of the city offer numerous opportunities to learn, practice and experience nocturnal photography. Our specially designed routes will take you to different places of interest. From the magic fountain situated by the Plaza España, the buildings and squares in the heart of the city, to the Rambles and the Old Port, each of these famous landmarks offers the opportunity to practice different techniques and to discover the tricks of the professionals.

Barcelona ArchitecturalDiscover and photograph the architectural gems and rough diamonds of the city on one of our architectural itineraries. Shaun Pilgrem has lived and worked in Barcelona as a registered architect and guide for the Catalan Architect’s Institute since 1991, and will share during 3 hours his knowledge and experiences of specific parts of the city, itself internationally renowned for both it’s Modernist and Modern architecture. This itinerary is ideal for those visitors eager to discover the history and culture of Barcelona from an architectural perspective. We also offer personalised guided weekend itineraries throughout Catalunya.

At Barcelona Photographer we believe that well thought out ideas give an added value to photography. We believe that creativity together with technical knowledge can transform photography into unique support for communication. With this in mind, we offer personalized teaching for both amateurs and professionals.

Barcelona Photo WeekendIntensive weekend courses directed both at amateur photographers who wish to learn more about photographic techniques, as well as more experienced photographers who wish to deepen their knowledge of studio work and other photographic techniques. Some of the themes embraced by these seminars include: architectural photography, travel photography, social reportage, lighting and studio photography, nocturnal photography and Photoshop. The seminar will explore both classical photography and more avant-garde and artistic originality. The course includes a photographic tour of Barcelona by day and by night, a studio shoot with a professional model and is directed at groups of 6-8 people.

Lighting for Portrait & FashionIntensive theoretical and practical weekend courses concentrating on portrait and beauty photography both inside and outside the studio. Directed at photographers who wish to introduce themselves to the ambit of portrait and beauty photography with models, the objective of the seminar is focused on the understanding of different lighting techniques. We will teach you how to obtain the desired attitude from the model in front of the camera, or how to compile a professional portrait and fashion portfolio, amongst other themes. Directed at groups of 6 people.

Photographic Coaching®

Throughout our professional careers, we have discovered that at certain times, many photographers feel the need to reflect on their careers with a fellow professional. For this reason, we have developed this special service, directed at both the amateurs and professionals who require the objective vision and expertise of another professional. Following a methodology agreed a priori with Katherin Wermke, director of Barcelona Photographer, the objectives outlined by the photographer will be pursued in a personalised session, including a portfolio review. The themes used in order to attain these objectives are encompassed in studio illumination for portrait and beauty, advertising and architectural photography.
