Barraba Central School Term 1 – Week 4 21 February 2013 Principal’s Report In last week’s newsletter we trialled a different format. Feedback from that format has been mixed therefore for the duration of Term 1 our weekly newsletter will remain on the A4 size sheet. Additional comment and feedback are always welcome. At our last P&C meeting the cost of school fees were discussed. The K-6 voluntary general school fee is $25 for one student or $50 a family with fees directly supporting your child’s education. In Years 7-12 a general fee of $50 is charged. The fees for all electives are $50 per year with the exception of Year 11/12 Industrial Technology being $100. Please note all elective fees must be paid in full before projects are taken home. These changes will take effect from Term 2. Remember elective fees can be paid off at $1-$2 a week. If you are experiencing difficulties with these fees, please contact me at the school. All enquiries will be kept strictly confidential. We continue to introduce our classes to the wider community. This week we would like to introduce Year 8 and their Year Advisor Mr Ed Princic. Are you listening to the kids read each night? Remember the importance of reading every day to and

with your child and discussing the books you are reading. It is a wonderful commitment by you to help

develop their reading skills and to help us to provide them with skills for the future. Reading is one of

the most important skills a child will learn at school.
