THE CONVENTIONThe Convention on the Rights of People with

Disabilities is an international treaty, but the main responsibility for its implementation lies with national governments.

Implementation of human rights is essentially a domestic issue.

The CRPD reflects this principle by giving guidelines to States Parties on domestic implementation.
