حدثنا محمد بن يحيى العطار قال حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار قال اخبرنا احمد بن محمد عن حدثنا أبو القاسم قال) 1(ابن ابى عمير عن حماد بن عثمان عن عمرو بن االشعث قال سمعت ابا عبد اهللا عليه السالم يقول اترون الموصى منا

. وسلم رجل فرجل حتى ينتهى إلى صاحبهيوصى إلى من يريد ال واهللا ولكنه عهد من رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله1 – It has been narrated to us by Abu Al-Qasim, from Muhammad Bin Yahya Al-Ataar, from Muhammad Bin Al-Hassan Al-Saffar, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from hamaad Bin Usman, from Amro Bin Al-Sha’ab who said: ‘I heard Abu Abdullahasws say: ‘Do you think that the oneasws from among usasws who has to make a will, can bequest it (Imamate) to anyone who heasws so wants to? No, by Allahazwj, but it is a pledge from the Messenger of Allahsaww, a manasws after a manasws, until it ends up with its Masterasws’.

حدثنا احمد بن محمد عن عبد اهللا بن محمد عن عبد اهللا الحجال عن داود بن يزيد عمن ذآره عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه ) 2(السالم قال اترون االمر الينا ان نضعه فيمن شئنا آال واهللا انه عهد من رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله إلى على بن ابى

. هى إلى صاحب هذا االمرطالب عليه السالم رجل فرجل إلى ان ينت2 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Abdullah Bin Muhammad, from Abdullah Al-Hajaal, from Dawood Bin Yazeed, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws having said: ‘Do you think that the Matter (Imamate), is up to usasws, that weasws make it to bear, on anyone that weasws so desire? No, by Allahazwj, it is a pledge from the Messenger of Allahsaww to Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws, a manasws after a manasws, ending up to the Masterasws of this Matter’.

حسين بن سعيد عن عمرو بن عثمان عن حسان عن سدير عن احدهما قال سمعته يقول حدثنا احمد بن محمد عن ال) 3(اترون الوصية انما هو شئ يوصى به الرجل إلى من شاء ثم قال انما هو عهد من رسول اهللا رجل فرجل حتى انتهى إلى

. نفسه3 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al-Husayn Bin Saeed, from Amro Bin Usman, from Hasaam, from Sudeyr, who said: ‘I heard himasws say: ‘Do you think that the bequest (Imamate) is a thing that it can be bequeathed by the manasws to the oneasws heasws so desires to?’ Then heasws said: ‘But rather, it is a pledge from the Messenger of Allahsaww, a manasws after a manasws, until it ends up to measws’, meaning himselfasws’.

حدثنا احمد بن محمد عن الحسين بن سعيد عن عمرو بن ابان قال ذآر أبو عبد اهللا عليه السالم االوصياء وذآرت ) 4( . اسماعيل وقال ال واهللا يا ابا محمد ما ذاك الينا ما هو اال إلى اهللا ينزل واحدا بعد واحد

4 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al-Husayn Bin Saeed, from Amro Bin Abaan who said: ‘I mentioned to Abu Abdullahasws, the successorsasws, and I mentioned Ismail, and heasws said: ‘O Abu Muhammad, that is not up to usasws. It (Imamate) is not, but up to Allahazwj, Heazwj Sends down oneasws after another oneasws’.

حدثنا محمد بن الحسين عن على بن ابى اسباط عن عبد اهللا بن بكير عن عمرو بن اشعث قال سمعت ابا عبد اهللا ) 5(عليه السالم يقول اترون هذا االمر الينا نضعه حيث شئنا آال واهللا انه عهد من رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه واله رجل رجل

‘I heard Abu Abdullahasws say: ‘Do you think that this Matter (Imamate) is up to usasws that weasws make it to bear, on anyone that weasws so desire? No, by Allahazwj, it is a pledge from the Messenger of Allahsaww, a manasws after a manasws, until it ends up to its Masterasws’.

حدثنا ايوب بن نوح عن صفوان بن يحيى عن عبد اهللا بن بكير عن عمرو عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه السالم قال آنا عنده ) 6(نحو من عشرين انسانا فقال لعلكم ترون ان هذا االمر إلى رجل منا نضعه آيف نشاء آال واهللا انه عهد من رسول اهللا

. إلى صاحبهصلى اهللا عليه وآله يسمى رجل فرجل حتى انتهى6 – It has been narrated to us by Ayub Bin Nuh, from Safwaan Bin Yahya, from Abdullah Bin Baker, from Amro, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said, ‘There were, in hisasws presence, something like twenty people. Heasws said: ‘Do you all think that this Matter (Imamate) is up to to a manasws from usasws, weasws make it to bear howsoever weasws desire to?’ By Allahazwj, it is a pledge from the Messenger of Allahsaww, a manasws after a manasws is called, until it ends up to its Masterasws’.

حمد بن محمد عن ابن ابى عمير عن بكير وجميل عن عمرو بن االشعث قال سمعت ابا عبد اهللا عليه السالم حدثنا ا) 7(ان الوصي منا يوصى إلى من يريد ال واهللا ولكنه عهد من رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله رجل فرجل حتى ينتهى االمر

. إلى صاحبه7 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Abu Umer, from Baker and Jameel, from Amro Bin Al-Ash’as who said: ‘I heard Abu Abdullahasws say that: ‘(Do you think) the successorasws from usasws bequests it (Imamate) to the oneasws heasws wants to? No, by Allahazwj, but it is a pledge from the Messenger of Allahsaww, a manasws after a manasws, until the matter ends up to its Masterasws’.

حدثنا ابراهيم بن هاشم عن يحيى بن ابى عمران عن على بن ابى حمزة عن ابى بصير عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه السالم ) 8(قال اترون الوصية انما يوصى بها الرجل منا إلى من شاء انما هو عهد من رسول اهللا إلى رجل فرجل حتى انتهى إلى

. نفسه8 – It has been narrated to us by Ibrahim Bin hashim, from Yahya Bin Abu Umran, from Ali Bin Abu Hamza, from Abu Baseer, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws having said: ‘Do you think that the bequest (Imamate), a manasws from usasws bequeaths it to anyone heasws so desires to? But rather, it is a pledge from the Messenger of Allahsaww to a manasws, after a manasws, until it ended up with measws’, meaning himselfasws’.

حدثنا عباد بن سليمان عن سعد بن سعد عن صفوان بن يحيى قال سألته عن االمام إذا اوصى الذى يكون من بعده ) 9(شيئا فيفوض إليه يجعله حيث شاء أو آيف هو قال انما يقضى بامر اهللا فقلت له انه حكى عن جدك انه قال اترون هذا

. سول اهللا رجل فرجل مسمى قال الذى قلت له هو هذااالمر نجعله حيث نشاء ال واهللا ما هو اال عهد من ر9 – It has been narrated to us by Abaad Bin Suleyman, from Sa’d Bin Sa’d, from Safwaan Bin Safwaan Bin Yahya who said: ‘I asked himasws about the Imamasws, if heasws bequeaths (chooses a successor) the oneasws to be after himasws, whether it is a thing delegated to himasws to make it to wherever heasws so desires to, or how is it?’ Heasws said: ‘But it is a Decision by the Command of Allahazwj’. I said to himasws, ‘It has been related from yourasws grandfatherasws whoasws said: ‘Do you think that this Command (Imamate), weasws make to go to whosoever weasws desire? No, by Allahazwj, it is not but it is an oath from the Messenger of Allahsaww, a named manasws to a named manasws’. Heasws said: ‘That which heasws said, it is as such’.

حدثنا احمد بن الحسن بن على بن فضال عن ابيه عن عبد اهللا بن بكير عن عمرو بن االشعث بمثل ماحكوا ) 10( . اصحابه

10 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Al-Hassan Bin Ali Bin Fazaal, from his father, from Abdullah Bin Bakeyr, from Amro Bin Al-Ash’as, similar to what has been recounted by his companions’.

حدثنا احمد بن محمد عن على بن الحكم عن ابيه عن ابن ابى حمزة عن ابى بصير عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه السالم ) 11( . البي الحسن موسى عقال سئلته وطلبت وقضيت إليه ان يجعل هذا االمر إلى اسماعيل فابى اهللا اال ان يجعله

11 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Al-Hakam, from his father, from Ibn Abu Hamza, from Abu Baseer, who said: Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘Iasws was asked to request Allahazwj that Heazwj may Make this Command (Imamate) to Ismail but Allahazwj Refused and Heazwj Made it go to Abu Al-Hassan Musaasws’.

حدثنا الحسين بن محمد عن معلى بن محمد عن على بن محمد عن بكر بن صالح الرازي عن محمد بن سليمان ) 12(لسالم قال ان االمامة عهد من اهللا عزوجل المصرى عن عثمان بن اسلم عن معاوية بن عمار عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه ا

. عمن يكون من بعده يزويهامعهود لرجل مسمى ليس لالمام ان12 – It has been narrated to us by Al-Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Moala Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Muhammad, from Bakr Bin Saleh Al-Razy, from Muhammad Bin Suleyman Al-Misry, from Usman Bin Aslam, from Muawiya Bin Amaar, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said that: ‘The Imamate, is a pledge from Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic, Pledged to a manasws called to it. It is not up to the Imamasws that heasws should conceal it from the oneasws whoasws is to be after himasws’.

حدثنا الحسن بن محمد عن على المعلى بن محمد عن احمد بن محمد بن عبد اهللا عن احمد بن الحسين عن على بن ) 13(عبد اهللا بن مروان االنباري قال آنت حاضرا عنه مضى ابى جعفر بن ابى الحسن عليه السالم فجاء أبو الحسن فوضع له

من ابى جعفر التفت أبو الحسن إلى ابى محمد فقال يا بنى احدث آرسى فجلس عليه وابو محمد قائم في ناحية فلما فرغ . اهللا شكرا فقد احدث فيك امرا

13 – It has been narrated to us by Al-Hassan Bin Muhammad, from Ali Al-Moala Bin Muhammad, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Abdullah, from Ahmad Bin Al-Husayn, from Ali Bin Abdullah Bin Marwaan Al-Anbary who said: ‘I was present there when Abu Ja’far (9th Imamasws) Bin Abu Al-Hassanasws (8th Imamasws) was about to pass away. Abu Al-Hassanasws (10th Imamasws) came. I placed a chair for himasws. Heasws sat down on it, and Abu Muhammadasws (11th Imamasws) was standing nearby. When heasws (10th Imamasws) had finished from the burial of Abu Ja’farasws (9th Imamasws) Abu Al-Hassanasws (10th Imamasws) turned towards Abu Muhammadasws (11th Imamasws) and heasws said: ‘O myasws sonasws, Be thankful to Allahazwj, for Heazwj has Caused the Command to be in youasws’.

حدثنا الحسين بن محمد عن المعلى بن محمد عن الحسن بن على الوشا عن عمرو بن ابان عن ابى بصير قال آنت ) 14(يا ابا محمد ما ذاك الينا وما هو اال إلى اهللا عند ابى عبد اهللا عليه السالم فذآروا االوصياء وذآر اسماعيل فقال ال واهللا

. عزوجل ينزل واحدا بعد واحد14 – It has been narrated to us by Al-Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Al-Moala Bin Muhammad, from Al-Hassan Bin Ali Al-Washaa, from Amro Bin Aban, from Abu Baseer who said: ‘I was in the presence of Abu Abdullahasws, when there was a mention of the successorsasws and Ismail was mentioned, heasws said: ‘No, by Allahazwj, O Abu Muhammad, that is not up to usasws, and it (Imamate) is not, but up to Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic. Heazwj Sends down oneasws after another oneasws’.

بن محمد عن صفوان بن يحيى عن عبد اهللا بن مسكان عن حجر عن حمران عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه حدثنا السندي) 1(

. السالم قال يقول ما مات عالم حتى يعلمه اهللا إلى من يوصى1 – It has been narrated to us by Al-Sanady Bin Muhammad, from Safwaan Bin Yahya, from Abdullah Bin Muskaan, from Hujr, from Hamraan, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws having said: ‘A knowledgeable onesws does not pass away until Allahazwj Makes himasws to know the oneasws heasws should bequeath it (Imamate) to’.

عمرو بن ابان عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه السالم قال حدثنا احمد بن محمد عن الحسين بن سعيد عن فضالة بن ايوب عن ) 2( . ما مات منا عالم حتى يعلمه اهللا إلى من يوصى

2 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al-Husayn Bin Saeed, from Fazaalat Bin Ayub, from Amro Bin Abaan, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘A knowledgeable oneasws from among usasws does not pass away until Allahazwj Makes himasws to know the oneasws heasws should bequeath it (Imamate) to’.

حدثنا محمد بن عبد الجبار عن ابى عبد اهللا البرقى عن فضالة بن ايوب عن عمرو بن ابان عن سليمان بن خالد عن ) 3( . عبد اهللا عليه السالم قال ما مات منا عالم حتى يعلمه اهللا إلى من يوصىابى

3 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar, from Abu Abdullah Al-Barqy, from Fazaalat Bin Ayub, from Amro Bin Abaan, from Suleyman Bin Khalid, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws having said: ‘A knowledgeable oneasws from among usasws does not pass away until Allahazwj Makes himasws to know the oneasws heasws should bequeath it (Imamate) to’.

عبد اهللا عليه حدثنا محمد بن الحسين عن الحسن بن على بن منصور عن آلثوم عن عبد الرحمن الخزاز عن ابى) 4(السالم قال آان السماعيل بن ابراهيم ابن صغير يحبه وآان هوى اسماعيل فيه فابى اهللا ذلك فقال يا اسماعيل هو فالن فلما قضى اهللا الموت على اسماعيل وجاء وصيه فقال يا بنى إذا حضر الموت فافعل آما فعلت فمن اجل ذلك ليس يموت

. صىامام اال اخبره اهللا إلى من يو4 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Al-Husayn, from Al-Hassan Bin Ali Bin Mansour, from Kalsoom, from Abdul Rahmaan Al-Khazaaz, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘Ismail Bin Ibrahimas had a young son whom was beloved to himas, and Ismailas was inclined regarding him (for successorship). 1 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Al-Husayn, from Ja’far Bin Basheer and Al-Hassan Bin Ali bin Fazaal, from Masny Al-Hanaat, from Al-Hassan Al-SayqAl-who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘The manasws from usasws does not pass away until heasws recognises hisasws heir’.

3 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Al-Husayn, from Al-Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Al-A’ala, from Abdullah Bin Abu Ya’four, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘The Imamasws does not pass away until heasws comes to know the oneasws whoasws is to be (an Imamasws) after himasws’.

حدثنا يعقوب بن يزيد عن حماد بن عيسى عن حريز عن زراة عن ابى جعفر عليه السالم في قول اهللا تبارك وتعالى ) 1(

. ان اهللا يأمرآم ان تؤدوا االمانات إلى اهلها قال االمام إلى االمام ليس له ان يزويها1 – It has been narrated to us by Yaqoub Bin Yazeed, from Hamaad Bin Isa, from Hareyz, from Zarara, who said: ‘Abu Ja’far, regarding the Statement of Allahazwj “[4:58] Surely, Allah commands you to make over trusts to their owners”, said: ‘The Imamasws to the Imamasws, it is not for himasws to conceal it’.

2 – It has been narrated to us by Al-Abbas Bin Ma’rouf, from Hamaad Bin Isa, from Rab’ie, from Al-Fazeyl, who said: ‘Abu Ja’farasws regarding the Statement of Allahazwj the High “[4:58] Surely Allah commands you to make over trusts to their owners”, said; ‘The Imamasws to the Imamasws, it is not for himasws to conceal it from himasws’.

Heasws said: ‘This (Verse) has Come down regarding usasws, and Allahazwj is the Helper’.

4 – It has been narrated to us by Yaqoub Bin Yazeed, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Umar Bin Azina, from Bureyd Bin Muawiya, who said: ‘Abu Ja’farasws regarding the Statement of Allahazwj the High “[4:58] Surely, Allah commands you to make over trusts to their owners, and that when you judge between people you judge with justice; surely, Allah admonishes you with what is excellent”. Heasws said: ‘It means usasws, meaning that the first of usasws should entrust to the Imamasws whoasws is to be after himasws, the Book, and the weapons, and if heasws judges between the people that judgement should be with justice. That judgement with justice has appeared in that, which is in your hands (possession)’.

Heasws said: ‘Allahazwj has Ordered the first Imamasws that heasws should hand over to the next Imamasws after himasws, everything that is in hisasws possession’.

حدثنا محمد بن عبد الحميد عن منصور بن يونس عن ابى بصير قال سمعت ابا عبد اهللا عليه السالم يقول ان اهللا ) 7( . يأمرآم ان تؤدوا االمانات إلى اهلها قال هو واهللا اداء االمانة إلى االمام والوصية

7 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Abdul Hameed, from Mansour Bin Yunus, from Abu Baseer who said: ‘I heard Abu Abdullahasws say: “[4:58] Surely Allah commands you to make over trusts to their owners”. Heasws said: ‘By Allahazwj, It is the handover of the Trusts to the Imamasws and the Bequest (Imamate)’.

دثنا على بن اسماعيل عن محمد بن عمرو عن يحيى بن مالك عن رجل من اصحابنا قال سألته عن قول اهللا ح) 8(عزوجل ان اهللا يأمرآم ان تؤدوا االمانات إلى اهلها قال االمام يؤدى إلى االمام قال ثم قال يا يحيى انه واهللا ليس منه انما

. هو امر من اهللا8 – It has been narrated to us by Ali Bin Ismail, from Muhammad Bin Amro, from Yahya Bin Maalik, from a man from our companions who said: ‘I asked himasws about the Statement of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic “[4:58] Surely, Allah commands you to make over trusts to their owners”. Heasws said: ‘The Imamasws handing over to the Imamasws’. Then heasws said: ‘O Yahya, by Allahazwj, it is not from themasws, but rather it is the Order from Allahazwj’.

حدثنا على بن اسماعيل عن ابى عبد اهللا البرقى عن على بن داود بن مخلد البصري عن مالك الجهنى قال قال أبو ) 9(جعفر عليه السالم ان اهللا يأمرآم ان تؤدوا االمانات إلى اهلها وإذا حكمتم بين الناس ان تحكموا بالعدل فيمن نزلت قلت

. الناس اعقل فيمن نزلتيقولون في الناس قال افكل الناس يحكم بين9 – It has been narrated to us by Ali Bin Ismail, from Abu Abdullah Al-Barqy, from Ali Bin Dawood Bin Makhlad Al-Basry, from Maalik Al-Jahny who said: ‘Abu Ja’farasws said: “[4:58] Surely Allah commands you to make over trusts to their owners, and that when you judge between people you judge with justice”, for whomasws did it Descend?’ I said, ‘They are saying that it is regarding the people’. Heasws said: ‘Is it all the people who judge between the people or a few about whom that it has Descended?’

12 – It has been narrated to us by Yaqoub Bin Yazeed, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Ibrahim Bin abdul Hameed, from Musa Al-Numeiry, from A’ala Bin Syaabah, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws regarding the Statement of Allahazwj the High “[17:9] Surely this Quran guides to the most upright”. Heasws said: ‘It Guides to the Imamsasws’.

CHAPTER 5 – THE TIME WHEN THE SUCCEEDING IMAMasws RECOGNISES WHAT IS IN THE POSSESSION OF THE PRECEDING IMAMasws

وا سمعنا ابا حدثنا محمد بن الحسين عن على بن اسباط عن الحكم بن مسكين عن عبيد بن زرارة وجماعة معه قال) 1(

. عبد اهللا عليه السالم يقول يعرف االمام الذى بعده علم من آان قبله في آخر دقيقة تبقى من روحه1 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Al-Husayn, from Ali Bin Asbaat, from Al-hakam Bin Miskeen, from Ubeyd Bin Zarara, and there was a group with him, who said: ‘We heard Abu Abdullahasws say: ‘The succeeding Imamasws recognises the knowledge from the oneasws that was before himasws, in the last minute that remains from hisasws soul’.

الحكم بن مسكين عن بعض اصحابه قال قلت حدثنا احمد بن محمد عن الحسين بن سعيد عن على بن اسباط عن) 2( . البي عبد اهللا عليه السالم متى يعرف االخر ما عند االول قال في آخر دقيقة تبقى من روحه

2 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al-Husayn Bin Saeed, from Ali Bin Asbaat, from Al-Hakam Bin Miskeen, from one of his companions who said: ‘I said to Abu Abdullahasws, ‘When does the succeeding Imamasws recognise what was with the preceding oneasws?’ Heasws said: ‘In the last minute remaining from hisasws soul’.

اصحابه عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه السالم قال قلت االمام متى يعرف حدثنا يعقوب بن يزيد عن على بن اسباط عن بعض ) 3( . امامته وينتهى االمر إليه قال في آخر دقيقة من حيوة االول

3 – It has been narrated to us by Yaqoub Bin Yazeed, from Ali Bin Asbaat, from one of his companions, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘I said, ‘When does the Imamasws recognise the Imamate and that the matter has ended up with himasws?’ Heasws said: ‘In the last minute from the life of the preceding Imamasws’.

. مستصعب ال يؤمن به اال عبد امتحن اهللا قلبه لأليمان1 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Al-Husayn, from Safwaan Bin Yahya, from Zareeh Al-Mahaarby and Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al-Barqy, from Safwaan, from Zareeh who said: ‘I heard Abu Abdullahasws say that: ‘Myasws fatherasws was a good father, may Allahazwj Have mercy on himasws. Heasws used to say: ‘If only Iasws could find three people, Iasws would have given them the knowledge, provided they had been deserving of that. Iasws would narrate to them with what they would have had no need to look into regarding the Permissible and the Prohibited and what will be happening until the Day of Judgement . Ourasws Hadeeth are difficult and become more difficult, none will believe in these except for the servant whose heart has been Tested for faith by Allahazwj’.

2 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Ismail, from Ali Bin Al-No’man, from Anbasat Bin Musa’ab, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘Had Iasws not feared your ending up with the others (enemies) just as others have ended up with them, Iasws would have given you a Book, you would not need anyone up to the standing of Al-Qaimasws’.

Heasws was saying: ‘Had Iasws found three people, Iasws would have given them the knowledge, provided they were deserving of that, Iasws would narrated to them with that after they would have had no need, after measws, regarding the Permissible and the Prohibited, and what will be happening up to the Day of Judgement ’.

4 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Sinan, from Maraazim and Musa Bin Bakr who said: ‘I heard Abu Abdullahasws say that: ‘Weasws have with usasws the Permissible and the Prohibited, what weasws can conceal it, but you cannot. The one whom we inform about it become needless’.

.السالم ما اجد من احدثه ولو انى احدث رجال منكم بالحديث فما يخرج من المدينة حتى اوتى بعينيه فاقول لم اقله5 – It has been narrated to us by Ibrahim Bin Hashim, from Muhammad bin Abu Umeyr, from Jameel bin Saleh, from Mansour bin Hazim who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘Iasws cannot find anyone (among you) to whom Iasws can narrate a (Hadith) to. And if Iasws were to narrate a Hadeeth to a man from among you all, he will not exit from Al-Medina but he will be brought with exactly it (same Hadith). Upon being asked about it (by ourasws enemies) Iasws will have to distance (myselfasws) from him (to observe Taqqaya on behalf of my Shias so their lives are spared)’.

محمد بن يحيى عن ابى بصير قال قال أبو عبد اهللا عليه السالم يا حدثنا يعقوب بن يزيد عن محمد بن ابى عمير عن) 1( . ابا محمد آلما نجرى في الطاعة واالمر مجرى واحد وبعضنا اعلم من بعض

1 – It has been narrated to us by Yaqoub Bin Yazeed, from Muhammad Bin Abu Umeyyr, from Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Abu Baseer who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘O Abu Muhammad, with regards to the obedience, and the Command, all of usasws flow with the same flow, and oneasws of usasws knows from anotherasws’.

2 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al-Husayn Bin Saeed, from Al-Nazar Bin Suweyd, from Yahya Al-Halby, from Ayub Bin Al-Hurr, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said, ‘We (only) say that which the Imamsasws, oneasws of themasws knows from the otherasws?’ Heasws said: ‘Yes, and theirasws knowledge of the Permissible and the Prohibited, and the explanation of the Quran is one (the same)’.

حدثنا احمد بن موسى عن الحسن بن موسى الخشاب عن على بن حسان بن عبد الرحمن بن آثير عن ابى عبد اهللا ) 1(

شئ قال الذين آمنوا النبي عليه السالم قال الذيى آمنوا واتبعتهم ذريتهم بايمان الحقنا بهم ذرياتهم وما التناهم من عملهم منوامير المؤمنين والذرية واالئمة االوصياء الحقنا بهم ولم تنقص ذريتهم من الجهة التى جاء بها محمد صلى اهللا عليه وآله

. في على وحجتهم واحدة وطاعتهم واحدة1 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Musa, from Al-Hassan Bin Musa Al-Khashaab, from Ali Bin Hasaan Bin Abdul Rahmaan Bin Kaseer, who said: Abu Abdullahasws having said: “[52:21] And (as for) those who believe and their offspring follow them in faith, We will unite with them their offspring and We will not diminish to them aught of their work”. Heasws said: ‘And (as for) those who believe – this is the Prophetsaww and Amir-ul-Momineenasws, and their offspring and the Imamsasws, the successorsasws We will unite and nothing will be deficient from the offspring anything from the authority which Muhammadsaww came with regarding Aliasws, and theirasws Proofs are one, and theirasws obedience is one (the same)’.

حدثنا على بن اسماعيل عن صفوان بن يحيى عن ابن مسكان عن الحرث النضرى عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه السالم قال ) 2(ى اهللا عليه وآله ونحن في االمر والنهى والحالل والحرام نجرى مجرى واحد فاما رسول اهللا سمعته يقول رسول اهللا صل

. صلى اهللا عليه وآله وعلى فلهما فضلهما2 – It has been narrated to us by Ali Bin Ismail, from Safwaan Bin Yahya, from Ibn Muskaan, from Al-Hars Al-Nazary, who said: ‘I heard Abu Abdullahasws say: ‘The Messenger of Allahsaww, and usasws, with regards to the Command, and the Forbidding, and the Permissible, and the Prohibition, weasws flow with one flow (the same). As for the Messenger of Allahsaww, and Aliasws, for both of themasws are more preferences’.

حدثنا عبد اهللا بن جعفر عن محمد بن عيسى عن داود النميري عن على بن جعفر عن ابى الحسن عليه السالم قال ) 3( .نحن في العلم والشجاعة سواء وفى العطايا على قدر ما نؤمر

3 – It has been narrated to us by Abdullah Bin Ja’far, from Muhammad Bin Isa, from Dawood Al-Numeyri, from Ali Bin Ja’far, who said: ‘Abu Al-Hassanasws having said: ‘Weasws are equal in the knowledge and the courage, and in the Grants (Gifts) weasws act in accordance to what weasws have been Commanded to’.

CHAPTER 9 – REGARDING THE IMAMSasws, THEYasws RECOGNISE WHEN THEYasws WILL BE PASSING AWAY, AND THAT IS BEFORE THE DEATH COMES TO THEM sws

عليه السالم قال دخل امير حدثنا احمد بن الحسن بن على بن فضال عن على بن اسباط يرفعه إلى امير المؤمنين) 1(

المؤمنين الحمام فسمع صوت الحسن عليه السالم والحسين عليه السالم قد عال فقال لهما مالكما فداآما ابى وامى فقاال . اتبعك هذا الفاجر فظننا انه يريد ان يضرك قال دعاه واهللا ما اطلق اال له

1 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Al-Hassan Bin Ali Bin Fazaal, from Ali Bin Asbaat with an unbroken chain going up to Amir-ul-Momineenasws, said: ‘Amir-ul-Momineenasws entered the bathroom. Heasws heard the voices of Al-Hassanasws and Al-Husaynasws, which were raised. Heasws said to both of themasws: ‘May myasws fatheras, and myasws motheras be sacrificed for youasws, what is the matter with youasws both?’ Theyasws said: ‘This evil doer followed youasws. Weasws think that he wants to harm youasws’. Heasws said: ‘Supplicate to Himazwj, by Allahazwj, there is no Call except to Himazwj’.

حدثنا محمد بن عبد الجبار عن محمد بن اسماعيل عن على بن النعمان عن عمر بن مسلم صاحب الهروي عن ) 2(سدير قال سمعت ابا عبد اهللا عليه السالم يقول ان ابى مرض مرضا شديدا حتى خفنا عليه فبكا بعض اهله عند راسه

ست بميت من وجعى هذا انه اتانى اثنان فاخبراني انى لست بميت من وجعى هذا قال فبراء ومكث ما شاء فنظر فقال لى لاهللا ان يمكث فبينا هو صحيح ليس به بأس قال يا بنى ان الذى اتيانى من وجعى ذلك اتيانى فاخبراني انى ميت يوم

. آذاوآذا قال فمات في ذلك اليوم2 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar, from Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Ali Bin Al-No’man, from Umar Bin Muslim, the companion of Al-Harwiya, from Sudeyr who said: ‘I heard Abu Abdullahasws say that: ‘Myasws fatherasws was severely ill, to the extent that weasws feared for himasws. Some of hisasws family members wailed near hisasws bedside’. Heasws looked at measws. Heasws said to measws: ‘Iasws will not be passing away from the pain of this. Two (Prophet Mohammedsaww and Aliasws ibn Abu Talibasws) came to measws. They informed measws that Iasws will not be passing away from this pain’. Heasws became free from it, and stayed. It was Allahazwj’s Desire that heasws should stay. Whatever that heasws had said, was true. Heasws was all right and there was no distress from it. Heasws said: ‘O myasws sonasws, The ones who came to measws during myasws pain, came to measws and informed measws that Iasws will be passing away on such and such a day’. Heasws passed away in that particular day’.

وحدثنا احمد بن محمد عن ابراهيم بن ابى محمود عن بعض اصحابنا قال قلت للرضا عليه السالم االمام يعلم إذا ) 3(مات قال نعم يعلم بالتعليم حتى يتقدم في االمر قلت علم أبو الحسن بالرطب والريحان المسمومين الذين بعث إليه يحيى بن

. اه لينفذ فيه الحكمخالد قال نعم قلت فاآله وهو يعلم قال انس3 – And It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibrahim Bin Abu Mahmoud, from one of our companions who said: ‘I said to Al-Rezaasws, ‘The Imamasws knows when heasws is going to pass away?’ Heasws said: ‘Yes, heasws knows with the information, to the extent that heasws proceeds in the matter’. I said, ‘Abu Al-Hassan Al-Rezaasws was aware of the poison in the dates and the basil which were sent to himasws from Yahya Bin Khalid?’ Heasws said: ‘Yes’. I said, ‘Heasws ate it, and heasws was aware of it?’ Heasws said: ‘Heasws was made to ignore it (that it contains poison) so that the Judgement could be implemented’.

حدثنا عبد اهللا بن محمد عن على بن مهزيار عن ابى مسافر قال قال لى أبو جعفر عليه السالم في العشية التى اعتل ) 4(فيها من ليلتها العلة التى توفى فيها يا عبد اهللا ما ارسل اهللا نبيا من انبيائه إلى احد حتى يأخذ عليه ثلثة اشياء قلت واى شئ

حدنا بالعبودية والوحدانية وان اهللا يقدم ما يشاء ونحن قوم أو نحن معشر إذا لم يرض اهللا الهو يا سيدى قال االقرار باهللا . الدنيا نقلنا إليه

4 – It has been narrated to us by Abdullah Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Mahziyar, from Abu Musaafir, who said: ‘Abu Ja’farasws said to me in the evening in which heasws became ill with the illness in which heasws passed away: ‘O Abdullah, Allahazwj did not Send a Prophetsaww from Hisazwj Prophetsas to anyone until Heazwj Took three things from himas’. I said, ‘And what things were they, O my Chiefasws’. Heasws said: ‘The acceptance of Allahazwj of Hisazwj worship, and the Oneness, and that Allahazwj Proceeds with whatsoever Heazwj Desires to, and weasws are a people, or weasws are a group, if Allahazwj is not Pleased with the world for (their treatment to) one of usasws, Heazwj Transfers usasws to Himselfazwj’.

حدثنا ايوب بن نوح عن صفوان بن يحيى عن مروان بن اسماعيل عن حمزة بن حمران عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه ) 5(ا الحديث وال السالم قال ذآرنا خروج الحسين وتخلف ابن الحنفية عنه قال قال أبو عبد اهللا يا حمزة انى سأحدثك في هذ

تسئل عنه بعد مجلسنا هذا ان الحسين لما فصل متوجها دعا بقرطاس وآتب بسم اهللا الرحمن الرحيم من الحسين بن على . إلى بنى هاشم اما بعد فانه من الحق بى منكم استشهد معى ومن تخلف لم يبلغ الفتح والسالم

5 – It has been narrated to us by Ayub Bin Nuh, from Safwaan Bin Yahya, from Marwaan Bin Ismail, from Hamza Bin Hamraan, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said, ‘We mentioned the coming out of Al-Husaynasws, and Ibn Hanafiyya stayed behind from it. Heasws said: ‘O Hamza, Iasws will narrate to you regarding this a Hadeeth, and do not ask about it after this session of ours. When Al-Husaynasws decided to go ahead, heasws requested for a paper, and wrote: ‘In the Name of Allahazwj, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful. This is from Al-Husaynasws Bin Aliasws to the Clan of Hashim. He is on the truth, the one from you who will be martyred with measws, and the one who is left behind, the victory will not reach to him. With greetings’.

اهللا عليه السالم انه قال حدثنا احمد عن الحسن بن على الوشا عن احمد بن عايذ قال حدثنا أبو سلمة عن ابى عبد ) 6(آنت عند ابى في اليوم الذى قبض فيه ابى محمد بن على فأوصاني باشياء في غسله وفى آفنه وفى دخوله قبره قال قلت يا ابتاه واهللا ما رايت منذ اشتكيت احسن هيئة منك اليوم وما رايت عليك اثر الموت قال يا بنى اما سمعت على بن

. دانى من وراء الجدران يا محمد تعال عجلالحسين عليه السالم نا6 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad, from Al-Hassan Bin Ali Al-Washa, from Ahmad Bin Ayaz, from Abu Salmat, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws having said: ‘Iasws was with myasws father on the day that heasws passed away, my fatherasws Muhammad Bin Aliasws. Heasws advised measws about several matters regarding the washing of hisasws body, and hisasws shrouding, and placing himasws is hisasws grave’. Iasws said: ‘Iasws have never seen youasws in better health, since youasws complained about yourasws illness, than today, and Iasws do not see in youasws the effects of death’. Heasws said: ‘Have youasws not heard Aliasws Bin Al-Husaynasws calling to measws from behind the wall: ‘O Muhammadasws, come quickly!?’

حدثنا ابراهيم بن هاشم عن الحسن بن على بن عقبه قال حدثنى جدى عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه السالم انى اتى ابا جعفر ) 7(بليلة قبض وهو يناجى فاومأ إليه بيده ان تأخر فتأخر حتى فرغ من المناجات ثم اتاه فقال يا بنى ان هذه الليلة التى اقبض

ل اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله قال وحدثني ان اباه على بن الحسين اتاه بشراب في الليلة فيها وهى الليلة التى قبض فيها رسو . التى قبض فيها وقال اشرب هذا فقال يا بنى ان هذه الليلة التى وعدت ان اقبض فيها فقبض فيها

‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘Iasws came to Abu Ja’farasws on the night in which heasws passed away, and heasws whispering. Heasws gestured with hisasws hand for measws to wait. Iasws waited until heasws was free from the whispering (Al-Munajaat), then I came to himasws’. Heasws said: ‘O myasws sonasws, this is the night in which Iasws will be passing away, and this is the night in which the Messenger of Allahsaww passed away’. And heasws narrated to measws that heasws gave hisasws fatherasws Aliasws Bin Al-Husayn a drink on the night in which heasws passed away, and heasws said: ‘O myasws sonasws, this is the night in which Iasws have been Promised that Iasws shall pass away’. Heasws passed away during it’.

ى الزيتوني عن ابراهيم بن مهزيار وسهل بن هرمزان عن محمد بن ابى الزعفران عن ام ابى حدثنا الحسن بن عل) 8(محمد قالت قال لى أبو محمد يوما من االيام تصيبني في سنة ستين حرارة اخاف ان انكب فيها نكبة فان سلمت منها فالى

فلما ان آان ايام صفر اخذها فال تجزعيسنة سبعين قالت فاظهرت الجزع وبكيت فقال لى البد لى من وقوع امر اهللا .المقيم المقعد وجعلت تقوم وتقعد وتخرج في االجانبين إلى الجبل تجسس االحباب حتى ورد عليها الخبر

8 – It has been narrated to us by Al-Hassan Bin Ali Al-Zatoony, from Ibrahim Bin Mahziyar, and Sahl Bin Harmazaan, from Muhammad Bin Abu Al-Zafraan, who said: ‘The motheras of Abu Muhammadasws who said, ‘Abu Muhammadasws said to me in one of the days: ‘On Myasws sixtieth year, Iasws will be struck by a fever which would be calamitous. If Iasws were to pass safely from it, Iasws will get to the seventieth year’. Sheas said, ‘Ias displayed anxiety and cried’. Heasws said to meas: ‘It has been Ordained to transpire for measws from the Command of Allahazwj. Do not grieve’. When it was the days of Safar, sheas was grabbed by back problems, and she used to stand and sit in distress, and sheas went out to the side of the mountain. Sheas used to keep herself informed of heras loved ones, until the news reached to heras’.

هذه القناة فيها حسنقال لمسافر يا مسافر حدثنا احمد بن محمد عن الحسن بن على الوشا عن الرضا عليه السالم ) 9( . قال نعم جعلت فداك قال اما انى رايت رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله البارحة وهو يقول يا على عندنا خير لك

9 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al-Hassan Bin Ali Al-Washa, who said: ‘Al-Rezaasws said to Musafar: ‘O Musafar, our matters (obscured from others) are beautiful’. He said, ‘Yes, may I be sacrificed for youasws’. Heasws said: ‘Iasws saw the Messenger of Allahsaww last night, and hesaww was saying: ‘O Aliasws to be with usasws is better for youasws’.

حدثنا محمد بن عيسى عن السائى قال دخلت عليه وهو شديد العلة فرفع رأسه من المخدة ثم يضرب بها رأسه ) 10( عندما رأوك من شدة عليك اغتالوكويزيده قال فقال لى صاحبكم أبو فالن قال فقلت جعلت فداك نخاف ان يكون هؤالء

. قال فقال ليس على بأس فبرأ الحمد اهللا رب العالمين10 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Isa, from Al-Sa’ai who said: ‘I came to himasws, and heasws was extremely ill. Heasws raised hisasws head from the head rest, then placed it back, and hisasws illness increased. Heasws said to me: ‘Your companion, Abu so and so, spoke to measws’. I said, ‘May I be sacrificed for youasws, we are afraid that they would imprison youasws if they were to see youasws in the extremity which youasws are in’. Heasws said: ‘This is not going to happen to measws. Iasws am away (from that) and Imam became well, Praise be to Allahazwj, Lordazwj of the worlds’.

حدثنا محمد بن احمد عن محمد بن اسماعيل عن سعدان بن مسلم عن ابى عمران عن رجل عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه ) 11(نى ابغى وضوء قال فقمت فجئت بوضوء قال ال السالم قال لما آان الليلة التى وعدها على بن الحسين قال لمحمد يا ب

ينبغى هذه فان فيه شيئا ميتا قال فخرجت فجئت بالمصباح فإذا فيه فارة ميتة فجئت بوضوء غيره قال فقال يا بنى هذه فيه فلم نلبث ان خرجت حتى اتت القبر فضربت ان يحضر لها عصام ويقام لها علف فجعلتالليلة وعدتها فأوصى بناقته

11 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Ahmad Bin Ismail, from Sa’daan Bin Muslim, from Abu Umraan, from a man, who said: ‘Abdullahasws having said: ‘When it was the night which has been Promised to Aliasws Bin Al-Husaynasws, heasws said to Muhammadasws: ‘O myasws sonasws, Iasws want (to perform) ablution’. Heasws said: ‘Iasws stood up and came with the water for ablution’. Heasws said to measws: ‘This is no befitting for measws for something has died in it’. Heasws said: ‘Iasws went out and came back with a lamp, and there was a dead mouse in it. Iasws came with other water for ablution’. Heasws said to measws: ‘O myasws sonasws, This is the promised night’. Heasws bequeathed about hisasws camel, that she should be protected and her feed to be replaced. It was not long before that she came to the grave. She struck herself to its side and started rolling on the ground. Her eyes filled up (with tears). Heasws came up to her and said: ‘Enough now, stand up, and may Allahazwj Bless you’. She went back to her place. It was not long before she went out and came up to the grave. She struck herself to its side and rolled on the ground, and her eyes filled up (with tears). They (people) came up to Muhammad Bin Aliasws and said to himasws that, ‘The camel has gone out. What shall we do?’ Heasws said: ‘Let her be, for she is saying her farewell’. She did not survive except for three days until she died. And that, whenever heasws used to ride her to Mecca, heasws would hang the whip away. Heasws would not draw it out until heasws entered Al-Medina’.

12 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibrahim Bin Abu Mahmoud who said: ‘I said, ‘Does the Imamasws know when heasws is going to pass away?’ Heasws said: ‘Yes’. I said, ‘What Yahya Bin Khalid sent to himasws of the poisonous dates and the basil, heasws has the knowledge of it?’ Heasws said: ‘Yes’. I said, ‘Heasws ate it and heasws was aware of it? ’ Heasws said: ‘Heasws helped himselfasws (by submitting to the Will of Allahazwj)’. Heasws said: ‘Yes, heasws did know before that, but heasws proceeded with what was required from himasws. When the time came to meet Allahazwj, Heazwj Made hisasws heart to disregard it, in order for the Judgement to be Implemented’.

. اهللا على خلقه13 – It has been narrated to us by Salmat Bin Al-Khataab, from Suleyman Bin Sama’at and Abdullah Bin Muhammad Bin Al-Qasim Bin Hars Al-Mubtal, from Abu Baseer who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said that: ‘An Imam, who does not know what will happen to him and to what events he is proceeding to, that (person) is not a Proof of Allahazwj on Hisazwj creatures’.

حدثنا يعقوب بن يزيد عن الحسن بن على الوشا قال حدثنى مسافر قال آنت مع ابى الحسن بمنى فر يحيى بن خالد ) 14(فغطى انفه من الغبار فقال مساآين ال يدرون ما يحل لهم في هذه السنة ثم قال وما اعجب من هذا وانا وهو وتر آهاتين

‘I was with Abu Al-Hassanasws at Mina. Yahya Bin Khalid fled, hiding his face from the dust. The poor people said, ‘He does not know what will transpire with him in this year’. Then heasws said: ‘And what is strange from this is that Iasws and him will be like these two’ – and heasws joined hisasws two fingers together. Musafir said, ‘I did not understand the meaning of hisasws Hadeeth until he was buried with himasws’. He died within a short time from himasws.

CHAPTER 10 – THE EARTH CANNOT BE EMPTY FROM THE PROOFasws, AND THEYasws ARE THE IMAMSasws

حدثنا احمد بن محمد عن على بن الحكم عن ربيع بن محمد المسلمى عن عبد اهللا بن سليمان العامري عن ابى عبد ) 1(

م قال ما زالت االرض اال وهللا الحجة يعرف الحالل والحرام ويدعو إلى سبيل اهللا وال ينقطع الحجة من اهللا عليه السالاالرض اال اربعين يوما قبل يوم القيمة فإذا رفعت الحجة اغلق باب التوبة وال ينفع نفسا ايمانها لم تكن امنت من قبل ترفع

. م تقوم القيمةان الحجة اولئك شرار من خلق اهللا وهم الذين عليه1 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Al-Hakam, from Rabi’e Bin Muhammad Al-Muslimy, from Abdullah Bin Suleyman Al-Aamiry, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘By Allah, the earth will not cease to be without the Proofasws, who recognises the Permissible and the Prohibited, and calls to the way of Allahazwj, and the earth will not be cut off from the Proofasws except for forty days before the Day of Judgement. When the Proofasws is raised up, the door of repentance will be closed, and no soul shall benefit from its faith who had not secured themselves before the raising up of the Proofasws. These are the most evil from the creatures of Allahazwj, and they are the ones against whom the standing will be Established’.

حدثنا محمد بن عيسى عن صفوان عن ذريح المحاربي عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه السالم قال االرض ال تكون اال وفيها ) 2( .ال تصلح الناس اال ذاكعالم

2 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Isa, from Safwaan, from Zareeh Al-Maharaby, who has narrated: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘The earth will not be except it will have in it a knowledgeable oneasws. It is not good for the people apart from that’.

حدثنا محمد بن عيسى عن ابن ابى عمير عن على بن ابى حمزة عن ابى بصير عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه السالم قال ان ) 3( . واعظم من ان يترك االرض بغير اماماهللا جل وعز اجل

3 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Isa, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Ali Bin Abu Hamza, from Abu Baseer, who has narrated: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said that: ‘Allahazwj is more Majestic, and more Mighty, and more Great, than Leaving the earth without an Imamasws (being in it)’.

حدثنا محمد بن عيسى عن محمد بن الفضيل عن ابى حمزة عن ابى جعفر عليه السالم قال واهللا ما ترك االرض منذ ) 4( . مام حجة اهللا على عبادهقبض اهللا ادم اال وفيها امام يهتدى به إلى اهللا وهو حجة اهللا على عباده وال تبقى االرض بغير ا

4 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Isa, from Muhammad Bin Al-Fazeyl, from Abu Hamza, who has narrated: ‘Abu Ja’farasws having said: ‘By Allahazwj, the earth has not been left, since the Capture (passing away) of Adamas, except that in it is an Imamasws guiding to Allahazwj, and heasws is the Proofasws of Allahazwj on Hisazwj servants, and the earth does not remain without an Imamasws, Proofasws of Allahazwj on Hisazwj servants’.

الحسين بن ابى العالء قال قلت البي عبد اهللا تبقى االرض يوما بغير حدثنا محمد بن عيسى عن ابن ابى عمير عن) 5( . امام قال ال

5 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Isa, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Al-Husayn Bin Abu Al-A’ala who said: ‘I said to Abu Abdullahasws, ‘Can the earth remain without an Imamasws for even one day?’ Heasws said: ‘No’.

حدثنا احمد بن محمد عن النضر بن سويد عن يحيى الحلبي عن ايوب بن حر عن سليمان بن خالد عن ابى جعفر ) 6( . عليه السالم قال ما آانت االرض اال وهللا فيها عالم

6 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al-Nazar Bin Suweyd, from YYahya Al-Halby, from Ayub Bin Hur, from Suleyman Bin Kahlid, who has narrated: ‘Abu Ja’farasws said: ‘The earth was never in a state, but in it was a knowledgeable oneasws’.

بن زياد العطار قال قلت البي عبد اهللا عليه السالم ما حدثنا بعض اصحابنا عن الوشا عن ابان االحمر عن الحسن) 7( . يكون االرض اال وفيها عالم قال بلى

7 – It has been narrated to us by one of our companions, from Al-Washaa, from Abaan Al-Ahmar, from Al-Hassan Bin Ziyad Al-Ataar who said: ‘I asked from Abu Abdullahasws, ‘The earth will never be except in it is a knowledgeable oneasws?’ Heasws said: ‘Yes’.

وعنه عن الحسن بن على الوشا عن ابان االحمر عن الحرث بن المغيرة قال سمعت ابا عبد اهللا عليه السالم يقول ان ) 8( . ناس ويعلم الحالل والحراماالرض ال تترك اال بعالم يحتاج الناس إليه وال يحتاج إلى ال

8 – And from him, from Al-Hassan Bin Ali Al-Washaa, from Abaan Al-Ahmar, from Al-Hars Bin Al-Mugheira who said: ‘I heard Abu Abdullahasws say that: ‘The earth will not be left except with a knowledgeable oneasws, the people being needy to himasws, and heasws not being needy to the people, and heasws would know the Permissible and the Prohibited’.

حدثنا احمد بن يعقوب عن يزيد عن ابن ابى عمير عن سعد بن ابى خلف عن الحسن بن زياد العطار قال سمعت ابا ) 9( . انه ال يصلح الناس اال ذاك وال تصلح االرض اال ذاك رض ال تكون اال وفيها حجةعبد اهللا عليه السالم يقول ان اال

9 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Yaqoub, from Yazeed, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Sa’d Bin Abu Khalaf, from Al-Hassan Bin Ziyad Al-Ataar who said: ‘I heard Abu Abdullahasws say that: ‘The earth does not (exist) except that in it is a Proofasws. It is neither good for the people and nor for the earth to be without himasws’.

حدثنا محمد بن عيسى عن ابن ابى عمير عن منصور بن يونس عن اسحق بن عمار عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه السالم ) 10( . ال سمعته يقول ان االرض ال تخلوا اال وفيها حجة آيما ازداد المؤمنون شيئا ردهم وان نقصوا شيئا اتمه لهمق

10 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Isa, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Mansour Bin Yunus, from Is’haq Bin Amaar, who has narrated: ‘I heard Abu Abdullahasws say that: ‘The earth is not abandoned, except in it is a Proofasws in order to rectify the believers, if they are in excess of something, heasws reduces it from them, and if they are deficient in something, heasws completes it for them’.

ثنا على بن اسماعيل عن احمد بن النضر عن الحسين بن ابى العال قال قلت البي عبد اهللا عليه السالم تترك حد) 11( . االرض بغير امام قال ال فقلنا له تكون االرض وفيها امامان قال ال اال امام صامت ال يتكلم ويتكلم الذى قبله

11 – It has been narrated to us by Ali Bin Ismail, from Ahmad Bin Al-Nazar, from Al-Husayn Bin Abu Al-A’ala who said: ‘I said to Abu Abdullahasws, ‘Is the earth left without an Imamasws?’ Heasws said: ‘No’. We said to himasws, ‘Will there be (a time) for the earth and in it are two Imamsasws?’ Heasws said: ‘No, except that an Imamasws will be silent, and the oneasws preceding himasws will speak’.

حدثنا احمد بن محمد عن الحسن بن على بن فضال عن ثعلبة عن اسحق بن عمار عن مولى البي عبد اهللا عليه ) 12(السالم قال سمعته يقول ال تكون االرض اال وفيها من يعرف الزيادة والنقصان فإذا جاء المسلمون بزيادة رمى بالزيادة

12 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al-Hassan Bin Ali Bin Fazaal, from Tha’albat, from Is’haq Bin Amaar, from a slave of Abu Abdullahasws who said: ‘I heard himasws say: ‘There will never be (a time) for the earth except in it will be oneasws who recognises the excesses and the deficiencies. If the Muslims come with excess, heasws will dispose of the excess, and if they come with the deficiency, heasws will complete it for them, and had it not been for that, the matters would be confusing for the Muslims’.

حدثنا عباد بن سليمان عن سعد بن سعد عن محمد بن عمارة عن ابى الحسن الرضا عليه السالم قال ان الحجة ال ) 13( . تقوم هللا على خلقه اال بامام حتى يعرف

13 – It has been narrated to us by Abaad Bin Suleyman, from Sa’ad Bin Sa’ad, from Muhammad Bin Amaarat, who has narrated: ‘Abu Al-Hassan Al-Rezaasws said that: ‘Allahazwj does not Establish the Proofasws except by an Imamasws, until heasws is recognised (as being the Proofasws)’.

عليه السالم حدثنا محمد بن عيسى عن الحسن بن محبوب والحجال عن العال عن محمد بن مسلم عن ابى جعفر ) 14( . قال ال تبقى االرض بغير امام ظاهر

14 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Isa, from Al-Hassan Bin Mahboub and Al-Hajaal, from Al-A’ala, from Muhammad Bin Muslim, who has narrated: ‘Abu Ja’farasws said: ‘The earth does not remain without an apparent Imamasws’.

حدثنا محمد بن عيسى عن الحسن بن محبوب عن هشام بن سالم عن ابى اسحق الهمداني قال حدثنى الثقة من ) 15(اللهم ال تخلى االرض من حجة لك على خلقك ظاهر أو خافى مغمور اصحابنا انه سمع امير المؤمنين عليه السالم يقول

. لئال تبطل حجتك وبنيانك15 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Isa, from Al-Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Hashaam Bin Saalim, from Abu Is’haq Al-Hamadany, from a reliable one from his companions, who has narrated: ‘I heard Amir-ul-Momineenasws say: ‘Ourasws Allahazwj, Does not Keep the earth empty from a Proofasws for Youazwj on Yourazwj creatures, apparent or hidden, so as not to invalidate Yourazwj Argument and the argument of Yourazwj Prophetsas’.

حدثنا محمد بن عيسى واحمد بن محمد عن الحسن بن محبوب عن يعقوب السراج قال قلت البي عبد اهللا عليه ) 16(السالم تخلوا االرض من عالم منكم حى ظاهر تفزع إليه الناس في حاللهم وحرامهم فقال يا ابا يوسف ال ان ذلك لبين في

وصابروا عدوآم ممن يخالفكم ورابطوا امامكم واتقوا اهللا فيما يأمرآم آتاب اهللا تعالى فقال يا ايها الذين آمنوا اصبروا . وفرض عليكم

16 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Isa, and Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al-Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Yaqoub Al-Siraaj who said: ‘I said to Abu Abdullahasws, ‘Is the earth ever be empty from a knowledgeable oneasws from among youasws that the people can resort to regarding their Permissible and their Prohibitions?’ Heasws said: ‘O Abu Yusuf, No. That has been Explained in the Book of Allahazwj. Heazwj Said: “[3:200] O you who believe! be patient and excel in patience”, from your enemies that are against you, “and remain steadfast” with your Imamasws “and fear Allahazwj”, for what Heazwj has Ordered you and Obligated upon you’.

حدثنا احمد بن الحسين بن على عن على بن فضال عن عمرو بن سعيد المدايني عن صدق بن صدقه قال سمعت ) 17(ابا عبد اهللا عليه السالم يقول لن تخلو االرض من حجة عالم يحيى فيها ما يميتون من الحق ثم تال هذه االية يريدون ان

.الكافرونيطفئوا نور اهللا بافواههم واهللا متم نوره ولو آره 17 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Al-Husayn Bin Ali, from Ali Bin Fazaal, from Amro Bin Saeed Al-Madainy, from Sadaq Bin Sadaqa who said:

Then heasws recited this Verse “[9:32] They desire to put out the light of Allah with their mouths, and Allah will not consent save to perfect His light, though the unbelievers are averse”.

ثم النهدي عن البرقى عن خلف بن حماد عن ابان بن تغلب قال قال أبو عبد اهللا عليه السالم الحجة قبل حدثنا الهي) 1(

. الخلق ومع الخلق وبعد الخلق1 – It has been narrated to us by Al-Hasam Al-Nahdy, from Al-Barqy, from Khalaf Bin Hamaad, from Abaan Bin Taghlub who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws: ‘The Proofasws was before the creation, and is with the creation, and will be after the creation’.

حدثنا الهيثم النهدي عن ابيه عن يونس بن يعقوب قال سمعت ابا عبد اهللا عليه السالم يقول لو لم يكن في الدنيا اال ) 2( . اثنان لكان االمام احدهما

2 – It has been narrated to us by Al-Haysam Al-Nahdy, from his father, from Yunus Bin Yaqoub who said: ‘I heard Abu Abdullahasws say: ‘If there will ever be no one in the world except for two persons, oneasws of them would be the Imamasws’.

مد عن على بن اسماعيل عن ابن سنان عن حمزة بن الطيار قال سمعت ابا عبد اهللا عليه السالم حدثنا احمد بن مح) 3( . يقول لو لم يبق في االرض اال اثنان لكان احدهما الحجة على صاحبه

3 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Ismail, from Ibn Sinan, from Hamza Bin Al-Tayaar who said: ‘I heard Abu Abdullahasws say: ‘If no one remains in the earth except for two persons, oneasws of them will be the Proofasws on hisasws companion’.

في االرض اال حدثنا احمد بن محمد عن محمد بن الحسن عن ابن سنان عن ابن عمارة بن الطيار قال لو لم يبق) 4( اثنان لكان احدهما الحجة ولو ذهب احدهما بقى الحجة

4 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Al-Hassan, from Ibn Sinan, from Ibn Amaarat Bin Al-Tayaar who said: ‘If no one remains in the earth except for two persons, oneasws of them will be the Proofasws, and if one of them asws goes, the remaining one will be the Proofasws’.

حدثنا محمد بن عيسى عن ابى عمارة بن الطيار قال سمعت ابا عبد اهللا عليه السالم يقول لو لم يبق في االرض اال ) 5( .اثنان لكان احدهما الحجة

5 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Isa, from Abu Amaarat Bin Al-Tayaar who said: ‘I heard Abu Abdullahasws say: ‘If no one remains in the earth except for two persons, one of themasws will be the Proofasws’.

CHAPTER 12 – THE EARTH DOES NOT REMAIN WITHOUT AN IMAMasws, IF IT DOES SO, IT WILL SINK (IMPLODE)

حدثنا محمد بن الحسين عن ابى داود المسترق عن احمد بن عمر قال قلت البي الحسن عليه السالم هل يبقى االرض ) 1(م قال ال يبقى االرض اال ان يسخط اهللا على العباد قال ال تبقى إذا بغير امام فانا نروى عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه السال

. لساخت1 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Al-Hassan, from Abu Dawood Al-Mustaraq, from Ahmad Bin Umar who said: ‘I said to Abu Al-Hassanasws, ‘Does the earth remain without an Imamasws, for we are reporting from Abu Abdullahasws having said that the earth does not remain (without an Imamasws) except that Allahazwj would Make it implode on the servants’. Heasws said: ‘It cannot remain so or it will implode’.

عن محمد بن الفضيل عن ابى حمزة الثمالى قال قلت البي عبد اهللا عليه السالم تبقى االرض حدثنا محمد بن عيسى ) 2( . بغير امام قال لو بقيت االرض بغير امام لساخت

2 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Isa, from Muhammd Bin Al-Fazeyl, from Abu Hamza Al-Thumaly who said: ‘I said to Abu Abdullahasws, ‘Does the earth remain without an Imamasws?’ Heasws said: ‘If the earth were to be without an Imamasws, it would implode’.

حدثنا محمد بن عيسى قال حدثنى المؤمن حدثنى أبو هراسة عن ابى جعفر عليه السالم قال لو ان االمام رفع من ) 3( . لساخت باهله آما يموج البحر باهلهاالرض ساعة

3 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Isa, from Al-Mo’min, from Abu Haraasa, who has narrated: ‘Abu Ja’farasws said: ‘If the Imamasws were to be raised from the earth for a moment, it would implode (swallowing up) its inhabitants just as the waves of the sea would (swallow) its inhabitants’.

حدثنا محمد بن على بن اسماعيل عن العباس بن معروف عن على بن مهزيار عن محمد بن الهيثم عن محمد بن ) 4( . قال ال إذا ساخت باهلهاالفضيل عن ابى الحسن الرضا عليه السالم قال قلت له يكون االرض بال امام فيها

4 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Ali Bin Ismail, from Al-Abbas Bin Ma’rouf, from Ali Bin Mahziyar from Muhammad Bin Al-Haysam, from Muhammad Bin Al-Fazeyl, who has narrated: ‘I said to Abu Al-Hassan Al-Rezaasws, ‘Will the earth ever be without an Imamasws in it?’ Heasws said: ‘No, it would sink with its inhabitants’.

. تبقى إذا لساخت5 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Suleyman, from Sa’d Bin Sa’d, from Ahmad Bin Umar, who has narrated: ‘Abu Al-Hassan Al-Rezaasws said, ‘I said to himasws, ‘Does the earth remain without an Imamasws?’ Heasws said: ‘No’. I said, ‘We are reporting from Abu Abdullahasws that heasws said that the earth will not remain except that Allahazwj would Make it implode on the servants’. Heasws said: ‘It does not remain if it (does then it will) implode’.

‘I asked Al-Rezaasws, ‘Does the earth remain without an Imamasws?’ Heasws said: ‘No’. I said, ‘We are reporting that it does not remain and that Allahazwj would Make it to implode on the servants’. Heasws said: ‘It does not remain if it implodes’.

.باهلها7 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Muhammad, from Abu Tahir Muhammad Bin Suleyman, from Ahmad Bin Hilal, from Saeed, from Suleyman Al-Ja’fary who said: ‘I asked Abu Al-Hassan Al-Rezaasws, I said, ‘Will the earth be empty from Proofasws of Allahazwj?’ Heasws said: ‘If the earth were to be empty from the Proofasws of Allahazwj for the blink of an eye, it would implode on its inhabitants’.

CHAPTER 13 – REGARDING THE IMAMSasws, WHEN AN IMAMasws FROM THEMasws PASSES AWAY, THE ONEasws AFTER HIMasws REALISES THAT

د قال قلت البي جعفر حدثنا الحسين بن محمد عن ابى جعفر محمد الربيع عن رجل من اصحابنا عن ابى الجارو) 1(عليه السالم جعلت فداك إذا مضى عالمكم اهل البيت باى شئ يعرف الذى يجئ من بعده قال بالهدائة واالطراق واقرار

. آل محمد صلى اهللا عليه وآله بالفضل وال يسأل عن شئ مما بين دفتين اال اجاب عنه1 – It has been narrated to us by Al-Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Abu Ja’far Muhammad Al-Rab’ie, from a man from our companions, from Abu Al-Jaroud who said: ‘I said to Abu Ja’farasws, ‘May I be sacrificed for you, when a knowledgeable oneasws from among youasws the Peopleasws of the Household passes away, by what thing can heasws be recognised as being the one after himasws?’ Heasws said: ‘By the calmness, and the silence, and the acceptance of the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww, with the preference, and heasws will not be asked about anything which is in between the two covers (Holy Quran), except that heasws will answer from it’.

وعنه عن معلى بن محمد عن محمد بن جمهور عن موسى عن الحنان عن الحرث بن المغيرة قال قلت البي عبد اهللا ) 2( . عليه السالم بم يعرف صاحب هذا االمر قال بالسكينة والوقار والعلم والوصية

2 – And from him, from Moala Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Jamhour, from Musa, from Al-Hanaan, from Al-Hars Al-Mugheira who said: ‘I said to Abu Abdullahasws, ‘With what does heasws know that heasws is the Masterasws of this Command (Imamate)?’ Heasws said: ‘With the tranquillity, and the dignity, and the knowledge, and the bequest’.

CHAPTER 14 – REGARDING THE IMAMSasws THAT THE CREATURES WHICH ARE BEHIND THE EAST AND THE WEST RECOGNISE THEMasws, AND THEY COME TO THEMasws, AND KEEP AWAY FROM THEIRasws ENEMIES

حدثنا محمد بن الحسين عن صفوان بن يحيى عن بعض رجاله عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه السالم عن ابيه عن على بن ) 1(

الحسين عن امير المؤمنين عليه السالم قال ان هللا بلدة خلف المغرب يقال لها جابلقا وفى جابلقا سبعون الف امة ليس منها وا اهللا طرفة عين فما يعملون عمال وال يقولون قوال اال الدعاء على االولين والبرائة منهما امة اال مثل هذه االمة فما عص

. والوالية الهل بيت رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله1 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Al-Husayn, from Safwaan Bin Yahya, from one of his men, who has narrated: ‘Abu Abdullahasws, from hisasws fatherasws, from Ali Bin Al-Husaynasws, from Amir-ul-Momineenasws having said that: ‘Allahazwj has a city behind the West, which is called Jaabalqa, and in Jaabalqa there are seventy thousand communities. There is no community from it like this community. They do not disobey Allahazwj even for the blink of an eye. They do not perform any deed, nor do they speak any words except that they supplicate against the first two and keep away from them both (Tabarra), and they are on the Wilayah of the Peopleasws of the Household of the Messenger of Allahsaww’.

حدثنا يعقوب بن اسحق بن ابراهيم الجريرى عن ابى عمران االرمني عن الحسن بن الجارود عمن حدثه عن ابى ) 2( يعبدون اهللا ال يشرآون به شيئا عبد اهللا عليه السالم قال ان من وراء ارضكم هذه ارضا بيضاء ضؤها منها فيها خلق

. يتبرؤن من فالن وفالن2 – It has been narrated to us by Yaqoub Bin Is’haq Bin Ibrahim Al-Jareery, from Abu Umraan Al-Armany, from Al-Hassan Bin Al-Jaroud, who has narrated: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘There is at the back of this earth of yours, a white earth with light illuminating from it. In it are creatures that worship Allahazwj. They do not associate anything with Himazwj. They keep away (Tabarra) from that one and that one’.

ب عن على بن حسان عن عبد الرحمن بن آثير عن ابى عبد اهللا حدثنا احمد بن موسى عن الحسين بن موسى الخشا) 3(عليه السالم قال ان من وراء عين شمسكم هذه اربعين عين شمس فيها خلق آثير وان من وراء قمرآم اربعين قمرا فيها

. خلق آثير ال يدرون ان اهللا خلق آدم ام لم يخلقه الهموا الهاما لعنة فالن وفالن3 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Musa, from Al-Husayn Bin Musa Al-Khashaab, from Ali Bin Hasaan, from Abdul Rahmaan Bin Kaseer, who has narrated: Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘Behind this sun of yours there are forty suns in which are numerous creatures, and that behind this moon of yours there are forty moons in which are numerous creatures. They do not know whether Allahazwj Created Adamas or not. Heazwj has Inspired them with an Inspiration, so they send curses upon that one and that one’.

حدثنا احمد بن محمد بن الحسين قال حدثنى احمد بن ابراهيم عن عمار عن ابراهيم بن الحسين عن بسطام عن عبد ) 4(اهللا بن بكير قال حدثنى عمر بن يزيد عن هشام الجواليقى عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه السالم قال ان هللا مدينة خلف البحر سعتها

قط وال يعرفون ابليس وال يعلمون خلق ابليس نلقاهم في آل حين فيسألونا عما مسيرة اربعين يوما فيها قوم لم يعصوا اهللا يحتاجون إليه ويسألونا الدعاء فنعلمهم ويسئلونا عن قائمنا حتى يظهر

Abu Abdullahasws having said that: ‘Allahazwj has a city behind the ocean. Its capacity (area) is the travel distance of forty days. In it are a people who do not disobey Allahazwj at all, and do not recognise Ibleesla, nor do they know of the creation of Ibleesla. Wesws meet them all the time. They ask usasws of whatever their requirements may be, and they ask usasws to pray for them. Weasws teach them, and they ask usasws about ourasws Qaimasws until heasws makes hisasws appearance.

وفيهم عبادة واجتهاد شديد ولمدينتهم ابواب مابين المصراع إلى المصراع مأة فرسخ لهم تقديس واجتهاد شديدا لو ووجوههم الورقع راسه من سجوده طعامهم التسبيح ولباسهم رأيتموهم الحتقرتم عملكم يصلى الرجل منهم شهرا ال يرف

مشرقة بالنور إذا رأوا منا واحد لحسوه واجتمعوا إليه واخذوا من اثره إلى االرض يتبرآون بهAnd among them, they perform worship with great diligence, and for their city there are doors, the distance between one of its shutter to the other shutter is of forty Farsakhs. They perform (acts of worship) with great reverence and diligence. If you were to see them, you would despise your own deeds. The man among them Prays for a month without raising his head from prostration. Their food is the Praise, and their clothing is the paper, and their faces are shining by the light. If one of you were to see one of them, you would gather around him, and take from him the effects of it to the earth in order to be blessed by it. لهم دوى إذا صلوا اشد من دوى الريح العاصف فيهم جماعة لم يضعوا السالح منذ آانوا ينتظرون قائمنا يدعون ان يريهم اياه وعمر احدهم الف سنة إذا رأيتهم رأيت الخشوع واالستكانه وطلب ما يقربهم إليه إذا حبسنا ظنوا ان ذلك من سخط

يتعاهدون ساعة التى نائتيهم فيهاTheir sounds, which they make whilst Praying, is more severe than the sound made by the wind. The violent ones among them have not put down their weapons since the time they have been waiting for ourasws Qaimasws claiming that lest they should see himasws even if the age of one of them is of a thousand years. If you were to see them, you will see reverence and submissiveness, and they seek that which will bring them closer to himasws. If weasws are imprisoned, they think that this is from the difficulties of the time in which weasws will be coming to them.

ال يسئمون ال يفترون يتلون آتاب اهللا آما علمناهم وان فيما نعلمهم مالو تلى على الناس لكفروا به والنكروه يسئلوننا عن وا اهللا طول البقاء الشئ إذا ورد عليهم من القرآن وال يعرفونه فإذا اخبرناهم به انشرحت صدورهم لما يسمعون منا ويسئل

وان ال يفقدونا ويعلمون ان المنة من اهللا عليهم فيما نعلمهم عظيمةThey do not get bored, nor do they fabricate. They recite the Book of Allahazwj just as weasws have taught them, and that what weasws have taught them is what they recite to the people. They do not disbelieve in it, nor do they deny any of it. They ask usasws about something which they come across from the Quran, and they do not understand it, and if they are informed about it, their chests are pleased by it when they hear it from usasws. They ask Allahazwj to lengthen ourasws stay and that they should not lose usasws, and they know that this is a Favour from Allahazwj to them, for what weasws have taught them is great.

منهم ويدعون اهللا ان يجعلهم ممن ينتصر به لدينهم فيهم ولهم خرجة مع االمام إذا قاموا يسبقون فيها اصحاب السالح آهول وشبان وإذا رأى شاب منهم الكهل جلس بين يديه جلسة العبد ال يقوم حتى يأمره لهم طريق اعلم به من الخلق إلى

حيث يريد االمامThey will come out with the Imamasws if heasws makes a stand. Among them is an armed group and they supplicate to Allahazwj that Heazwj should Make them to be the ones by whom the Religion will triumph, including the elderly and the young ones of them. And if you were to see the young ones from them sees a middle-aged person, he would sit in front of him like the sitting of a slave, not getting up until he orders

them. For them is a way which they know of from the people, as to what is required by the Imamasws.

وا على مابين المشرق والمغرب من فإذا امرهم االمام بامر قاموا ابدا حتى يكون هو الذى يأمرهم بغيره لو انهم وردالخلق الفنوهم في ساعة واحدة ال يختل الحديد فيهم ولهم سيوف من حديد غير هذا الحديد لو ضرب احدهم بسيفه جبال لقده حتى يفصله يغزو بهم االمام الهند والديلم والكرك والترك والروم وبربر وما بين جابرسا إلى جابلقا وهما مدينتان

مشرق واخرى بالمغرب ال يأتون على اهل دين اال دعوهم إلى اهللا والى االسالم والى االقرار بمحمد صلى اهللا واحدة بال . عليه وآله ومن لم يسلم قتلوه حتى ال يبقى بين المشرق والمغرب وما دون الجبل احد اال اقر

If the Imamasws were to order them with a command, they will keep to it forever until heasws issues an order other than that. If they respond to what is in between the East and the West from the creatures, they would do it in an hour. The iron does not break them as their swords are made of a metal other than this iron. If one of them were to strike at the mountain with his sword, it would disintegrate. The Imamasws will rise supported by them, Al-Hind (India), and Al-Daylam (Persia) and Al-Kark, and Al-Tark, and Al-Roum (Rome), and Berber (North Africa), and what is in between Jabarsa upto Jabalqa, and these two are cities. One of them is in the East and the other one is in the West. They will not come to a people of a religion except that they will invite them to Allahazwj, and to Islam, and to the acceptance of Muhammadsaww, and the one who does not submit, they will kill him, until there will not remain anyone in between the East and the West, and what is inside the mountain, except that he will accept’.

بد اهللا ابن القاسم عن سماعة يرفعه إلى حدثنا سلمة بن الخطاب عن سليمان بن سماعة وعبد اهللا بن محمد عن ع) 5(الحسن وابى الجارود وذآراه عن ابن سعيد الهمداني قال قال الحسن بن على عليه السالم ان هللا مدينة في المشرق ومدينة في المغرب على آل واحد سور من حديد في آل سور سبعون الف مصراع يدخل من آل مصراع سبعون الف لغة ادمى

اال مخالف االخرى وما فيها لغة اال وقد علمناها وما فيهما وما بينها ابن نبى غيرى وغير اخى وانا الحجة ليس منها لغة . عليهم

5 – It has been narrated to us by Salmat Bin Al-Khattab, from Suleyman Bin Sama’at and Abdullah Bin Muhammad, from Abdullah Al-Qasim, from Sama’at with an unbroker chain going up to Al-Husayn and Abu Al-Jaroud, from Abu Saeed Al-Hamdany who said: ‘Al-Hassan Bin Aliasws said that: ‘Allahazwj has a city in the East and a city in the West. Each one of them has a wall of iron, and on each wall are seventy thousand shutters. From each of the shutters are people who speak seventy thousand languages, with each language being different than the other, and there is no language therein but weasws know of it, and what is in them and what is in between them, and there is no sonasws of a Prophetas other than myselfasws, and other than myasws brotherasws, and Iasws am the Proofasws over them’.

حدثنا سلمة عن احمد بن عبد الرحمن بن عبد ربه الصيرفى عن محمد بن سليمان عن يقطين الجواليقى عن قلقلة ) 6(م قال ان اهللا خلق جبال محيطا بالدنيا من زبرجد خضر وانما خضرة السماء من خضرة ذلك عن ابى جعفر عليه السال

الجبل وخلق خلقا ولم يفرض عليهم شيئا مما افترض على خلقه من صلوة وزآوة وآلهم يلعن رجلين من هذه االمة . وسماهما

6 – It has been narrated to us by Salmat, from Ahmad Bin Abdul Rahmaan Bin Abd Rabih Al-Sayrafi, from Muhammad Bin Suleyman, from Yaqteen Al-Jawalayqi, from Qalqalat, who has narrated: ‘Abu Ja’farasws having said that: ‘Allahazwj Created a mountain of green aquamarine which encompasses the world, and that mountain is more greener than the vegetation under the sky. And Heazwj Created creatures, and did not Obligate them anything from what Heazwj has Obligated upon the creatures from the Prayers and the Zakaat, and all of them are invoking curses upon two men from this community’. Heasws named them both’.

حدثنا احمد بن الحسين عن على بن زيات عن عبيد اهللا بن عبد اهللا الدهقان عن ابى الحسن عليه السالم قال سمعته ) 7(يقول ان اهللا خلق هذا النطاق زبرجدة خضراء فمن خضرتها اخضرت السماء قال قلت وما النطاق قال الحجاب وهللا وراء

. الف عالم اآثر من عدد االنس والجن وآلهم يلعن فالنا وفالناذلك سبعون 7 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Al-Husayn, from Ali Bin Ziyaat, from Ubeydullah Bin Abdullah Al-Dahqaan, who has narrated: ‘I heard Abu Al-Hassanasws say that: ‘Allahazwj has Created this Domain of green aquamarine. It is from its greenery that the sky appears as such’. I said, ‘And what is the Domain?’ Heasws said: ‘The veil. By Allahazwj, behind that (veil) are seventy thousand worlds, more numerous that the number of the human beings, and the Jinn, and all of them curse that one and that one’.

حدثنا محمد بن هارون عن ابى يحيى الواسطي عن سهل بن زياد عن عجالن ابى صالح قال سئلت ابا عبد اهللا عليه ) 8(وثلثين مغربا ارضا السالم عن قبة آدم فقلت له هذه قبة آدم فقال نعم وهللا قباب آثيرة اما ان خلف مغربكم هذا تسعة

بيضاء ومملوة خلقا يستضيئون بنورنا لم يعصوا اهللا طرفة عين ال يدرون اخلق اهللا آدم ام لم يخلقه يبرؤن من فالن وفالن قيل له آيف هذا يتبرؤن من فالن وفالن وهم ال يدرون اخلق اهللا آدم ام لم يخلقه فقال للسائل اتعرف ابليس قال ال اال

. باللعنة والبرائة منه قال نعم قال فكذلك امر هؤالءبالخبر قال فأمرت8 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Haroun, from Abu yahya Al-Waasity, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Ajlaan Abu Saleh who said: ‘I asked Abu Abdullahasws about Adamas’s dome. I said to himasws, ‘This is Adamas’s dome’. Heasws said: ‘Yes, by Allahazwj, there are many domes, and that behind this west of yours, are thirty nine white earths, and are full of creatures, who get illuminated by ourasws light. They do not disobey Allahazwj even for the blink of an eye. They do not know that Allahazwj Created Adamas or whether Heazwj did not Create himas. They keep away (Tabarra) from that one and that one’. I said to himasws, ‘How do they keep away from that one and that one, and they do not know whether Allahazwj has Created Adamas or did not Create himas?’ Heasws said to the questioner: ‘Do you know Ibleesla?’ He said, ‘No, except by the news’. Heasws said: ‘You have been ordered for the curses and the keeping away from himla?’ He said, ‘Yes’. Heasws said: ‘And such is the matter for those ones’.

حدثنا محمد بن عيسى عن يونس عن عبد الصمد عن ابى جعفر عليه السالم قال سمعته يقول ان من وراء هذه ) 9(اربعين عين شمس ما بين شمس إلى شمس اربعون عاما فيها خلق آثير ما يعلمون ان اهللا خلق آدم اولم يخلقه وان من

ا اربعين قمرا مابين قمر إلى قمر مسيرة اربعين يوما فيها خلق آثير ما يعلمون ان اهللا خلق آدم اولم يخلقه وراء قمرآم هذ . قد الهموا آما الهمت النحل لعنة االول والثانى في آل وقت من االوقات وقد وآل بهم مالئكة متى ما لم يلعنوها عذبوا

9 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Isa, from Yunus, from Abdul Samad, who has narrated: ‘I heard Abu Ja’farasws say that: ‘Behind this here, are forty suns, and between the sun to the (other) sun are forty years. In them are numerous creatures who do not know that whether Allahazwj Created Adamas or whether Heazwj did not Create himas. And behind this moon of yours, are forty moons, and the distance between a moon to the (other) moon is a travel distance of forty years. In them are numerous creatures who do not know whether Allahazwj Created Adamas or whether Heazwj did not Create himas. Heazwj Inspired them just as Heazwj Inspired the bee. They curse the first and the second all the time from the times. Each one of them has an Angel with him. When he does not invoke curses, the Angel punishes him’.

حدثنا احمد بن محمد عن ابى يحيى الواسطي عن درست عن عجالن ابى صالح قال دخل رجل على ابى عبد اهللا ) 10(عليه السالم فقال له جعلت فداك هذه قبة آدم قال نعم وفيه قباب آثيرة ان خلف مغربكم هذا تسعة وثلثين مغربا ارضا

صوا اهللا طرفة عين ما يدرون ان اهللا خلق آدم ام لم يخلق يتبرؤن من فالن بيضاة مملوة خلقا يستضيئون بنورها لم يع . وفالن لعنهما اهللا

10 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Abu Yahya Al-Waasity, from Darsat, from Ajlaan Abu Saleh who said: ‘A man came to Abu Abdullahasws. 11 – It has been reported by aqoub Bin Yazeed, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from his man, who has narrated: ‘Abu Abdullahasws has narrated with an unbroken chain from Al-Hassan Bin Aliasws having said that: ‘Allahazwj has two cities, one of them in the East, and the other in the West. In both of them are walls of iron, and on each of the two cities are seventy thousand, thousand shutters of gold, and in them seventy thousand, thousand languages are spoken, each language being different to the other language, and Iasws understand all the languages, and what is in them, and what is between them, and there is no Proofasws over them other than myselfasws and myasws brother Al-Husaynasws’.

يه السالم على ابى جعفر اقام حدثنا احمد بن محمد عن الحسين بن على عن على بن ميسر قال لما قدم أبو عبد اهللا عل) 1(أبو جعفر مولى له على راسه وقال له إذا دخل على فاضرب عنقه فلما دخل أبو عبد اهللا عليه السالم نظر إلى ابى جعفر واسر شيئا بينه وبين نفسه ال يدرى ما هو ثم اظهر يامن يكفى خلقه آلهم وال يكفيه احد اآفني شر عبد اهللا بن على فصار

ال يبصر مواله وال يبصره قال فقال أبو جعفر يا جعفر بن محمد لقد اتعبتك في هذا الحر فانصرف فخرج أبو أبو جعفر عبد اهللا من عنده فقال أبو جعفر لمواله ما منعك ان تفعل ما امرتك به فقال ال واهللا ما ابصرته ولقد جاء شئ حال بينى

. قتلنكوبينه قال أبو جعفر واهللا لئن حدثت بهذا الحديث ال1 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al-Husayn Bin Ali, from Ali Bin Maysar who said: ‘When Abu Abdullahasws went to Abu Ja’far (Al-Mansour the Abbasid Caliph), Abu Ja’far positioned his slave near to his head and said to him, ‘When heasws enters, strike hisasws neck (With a sword)’. When Abu Abdullahasws entered, heasws looked at Abu Ja’far (Al-Mansour) and there was something between him and himselfasws, I don’t know what it was. Then heasws supplicated: ‘O One Whoazwj Suffices for all Hisazwj creatures, and no one suffices for Himazwj, save measws from the evil of Abdullah Bin Ali’. Abu Ja’far (Al-Mansour) did not see his slave nor did his slave see him. Abu Ja’far (Al-Mansour) said, ‘O Ja’far Bin Muhammadasws, I have troubled youasws in this heat, so youasws can leave’. Abu Abdullahasws went out from his presence. Abu Ja’far (Al-mansour) said to his slave, ‘What prevented you to do what I had ordered you with?’ He said, ‘No, by Allahazwj, I did not see himasws, and something came between me and himasws’. Abu Ja’far (Al-Mansour) said, ‘By Allahazwj, if you narrate this incident (to anyone), I will kill you’.

عنه عن الهيثم النهدي عن الحسن بن محبوب عن معاوية بن وهب قال آنت مع ابى عبد اهللا بالمدينة وهو راآب ) 2( صرنا إلى السوق أو قريبا من السوق قال فنزل وسجد واطل السجود وانا انتظره ثم رفع راسه قال حماره فنزل وقد آنا

قلت جعلت فداك رأيتك نزلت فسجدت قال انى ذآرت نعمة اهللا على قال قلت قرب السوق والناس يجيئون ويذهبون قال . انه لم يرنى احد

2 – From him, from Al-Haysam, from Al-Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Muawiya Bin Wahab who said: ‘I was with Abu Abdullahasws in Al-Madina, and heasws was riding on hisasws donkey. Heasws descended, and we were at the market, or very close to the market. Heasws descended and prostrated, and prolonged hisasws prostration, and I was looking at himasws. Then heasws raised hisasws head. I said, ‘May I be sacrificed for youasws. I saw that youasws descended and youasws prostrated’. Heasws said: ‘Iasws remembered the Bounty of Allahazwj to measws’. I said, ‘Near the market, and the people are coming and going?’ Heasws said, ‘Not one of them has seen measws’.

Abu Abdullahasws entered into the court. The gatekeepers were asked, ‘Who entered by this door?’ They said, ‘No, by Allahazwj, we did not see anyone’.

. النار ومن يدخل الجنة آما تعرفون في قبائلكم الرجل منكم يعرف من فيها من صالح أو طالح1 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Al-Husayn, from Abdul Rahman Bin Abu Hashaam, from Saalim Bin Abu Salmah, from Al-Halqam, who has narrated: ‘Abu Ja’farasws regarding the Statement of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic “[7:46] And on the Heights are men who know them all by their marks”. Heasws said: ‘Weasws are those menasws. The Imamsasws from usasws recognise the ones who will enter the Fire, and the ones who will enter the Paradise, just as you recognise in your tribes, the men from among you, recognising the ones from it from the good or evil’.

3 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al-Hassan Bin Ali Al-Washaa, from Ahmad Bin Ayaaz, from Abu Zayd, fro Al-Halqam, who has narrated: ‘I asked Abu Ja’farasws about the Statement of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic “[7:46] And on the Heights are men who know them all by their marks”, what is the meaning of Hisazwj Words “[7:46] And on the Heights are men”?’ Heasws said: ‘Do you not have recognition among you in your tribes to recognise whom from it is good or evil?’ I said, ‘Yes’. Heasws said: ‘And so weasws are those menasws who will be recognising them all by their virtues’.

Heasws said: ‘O Sa’ad, the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww will not let anyone enter the Paradise except the one who recognises themasws and theyasws recognise him, nor will they let anyone enter the Fire except the one who has denied themasws, and theyasws denied him, and the

‘Heights…’ means Allahazwj cannot be Recognised, except by the way of recognising themasws’.

حدثنا احمد بن محمد عن الحسن بن محبوب عن ابى ايوب عن بريد العجلى قال سئلت ابا جعفر عليه السالم عن ) 5(نزلت في هذه االمة والرجال هم االئمة من آل محمد قلت قول اهللا وعلى االعراف رجال يعرفون آال بسيماهم قال ا

. فاالعراف قال صراط بين الجنة والنار فمن شفع له االئمة منا في المؤمنين المذنبين نجا ومن لم يشفعوا له هوى5 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al-Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Abu Ayyub, from Bureyd Al-Ajaly who said: ‘I asked Abu Ja’farasws about the Statement of Allahazwj “[7:46] And on the Heights are men who know them all by their marks”. Heasws said: ‘Descended in this community, and the men, theyasws are the Imamsasws from the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww’. I said, ‘And the Heights?’ Heasws said: ‘The Path between the Paradise and the Fire. The ones for whom the Imamsasws from usasws shall intercede, among the believers, the sinners, will be rescued, and the ones for whom theyasws shall not intercede, for them is the Fire’.

حدثنا احمد بن محمد عن الحسين بن سعيد عن طريف عن االصبغ بن نباته قال آنت عند امير المؤمنين عليه السالم ) 6(جالسا فجائه رجل فقال له يا امير المؤمنين عليه السالم االعراف رجال يعرفون آال بسيماهم فقال له على نحن االعراف

ن نعرف انصارنا بسيماهم ونحن االعراف الذيى ال يعرف اهللا اال بسبيل معرفتنا ونحن االعراف نوقف يوم القيمة بين نحوذلك بان اهللا تبارك وتعالى لو الجنة والنار فال يدخل الجنة اال من عرفنا وعرفناه وال يدخل النار اال من انكرنا وانكرناه

. ويأتوه من بابه ولكن جعلنا ابوابه وصراطه وسبيله وبابه الذى يؤتى منهشاء لعرف الناس حتى يعرفوه ويوحدوه6 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al-Husayn Bin Saeed, from Tareyf, from Al-Asbagh Bin Nabata who said: ‘I was seated in the presence of Amir-ul-Momineenasws, when a man came over and said to himasws, ‘O Amir-ul-Momineen asws “[7:46] And on the Heights are men who know them all by their marks”. Aliasws said to him: ‘Weasws are the “A’raaf” (Recognisers). Weasws will recognise ourasws helpers by their marks, and weasws are the “A’raaf” who, Allahazwj cannot be recognised except by the way of ourasws recognition, and weasws are the “A’raaf”, weasws will stand between the Paradise and the Fire. None shall enter the Paradise except the one who recognises usasws and weasws recognise him, and none shall enter the Fire except for the one who denies usasws and weasws deny him, and that Allahazwj Blessed and High, had Heazwj so Wished Heazwj would have Granted the people the understanding so that they would have recognised Himazwj, and Hisazwj Oneness, and would have come to Himazwj Hisazwj Doors, but Heazwj has Made usasws to be Hisazwj Doors, and Hisazwj Path and Hisazwj Way, and Hisazwj Doors to get to Himazwj’.

. نار اال من انكرآم وانكرتموهال7 – It has been narrated to us by Al-Hassan Bin Ali Bin Fazaal, from Ali Bin Asbaat, from Ahmad Bin Hanaan, from one of his companions with an unbroken chain going up to Al-Asbagh Bin Nabata, from Salmaan Al-Farsyar who said: ‘Iar say by Allahazwj, Iasws heard the Messenger of Allahsaww and hesaww said to Aliasws: ‘O Aliasws, youasws and the successorsasws from after mesaww’, or hesaww said: ‘from after youasws’, ‘are the “A’raaf” (Recognisers). Allahazwj cannot be recognised except by the way of yourasws recognition, and the “A’raaf” (Recognisers) will not let enter the Paradise anyone except for the one who recognises themasws, and theyasws will recognise him, and will not let anyone enter the Fire except for the one who denies themasws and they will deny him’.

ال يعرف اهللا عزوجل اال على الصراط فال يدخل الجنة اال من عرفنا ونحن عرفناه وال يدخل النار اال من انكرنا وانكرناه فمن عدل عن واليتنا أو وابه وصراطه وسبيله والوجه الذى يؤتى منهان اهللا لو شاء لعرف العباد نفسه ولكن جعلنا اب

فضل علينا غيرنا فانهم عن الصراط لناآبون وال سواء من اعتصم الناس به وال سواء من ذهب حيث ذهب الناس ذهب . انقطاعالناس إلى عيون آدرة يفرغ بعضها في بعض وذهب من ذهب الينا إلى عين صافية تجرى بامورالنفاد لها وال

8 – It has been narrated to us by Al-Husayn Bin Muhammad Bin Aamir, from Moala Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Jamhour, from Abdullah Bin Abdul Rahmaan, from Al-Hasam Bin Waaqid, from Muqaran who said: ‘I heard Abu Abdullahasws say: ‘Ibn Kawaa came up to Amir-ul-Momineenasws and said, ‘O Amir-ul-Momineenasws, “[7:46] And on the Heights are men who know them all by their marks”. Heasws said: ‘Weasws are the “A’raaf” (Recognisers). Weasws recognise ourasws helpers, and weasws are the “A’raaf” (Recognisers) who, Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic cannot be recognised except on theirasws Path. Weasws will not let anyone enter the Paradise except for the one, who recognises usasws, and we will recognise him, and weasws will not let anyone enter the Fire except for the one who denies usasws and weasws will deny him. If Allahazwj so Desires to, Heazwj can Recognise the servants Himselfazwj, but Heazwj has Made us to be Hisazwj Doors, and Hisazwj Path, and Hisazwj Way, and Hisazwj Perspective to get to Himazwj. The one who turned away from ourasws Wilayah, or preferred others over usasws, so he is the one who will fall headlong from the Bridge (Al-Siraat), and the one who stayed with it (Al-Wilayah) is not equal to the one who went where the people went. The people went to the turbid springs and some of it emptied into the others, whilst the one who came to usasws came to the clear spring flowing constantly without depletion or being cut off’.

عن ابى مريم االنصاري عن منهال بن حدثنا الحسين بن محمد عن معلى بن محمد قال حدثنى أبو الفضل المدايني) 9(

عمرو عن رزين بن حبيش قال سمعت عليا عليه السالم يقول ان العبد إذا دخل حفرته اتاه ملكان اسمهما منكر ونكير فاول من يسئالنه عن ربه ثم عن نبيه ثم عن وليه فان اجاب نجا وان عجز عذباه

9 – It has been narrated to us by Al-Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Moala Bin Muhammad, from Abu Al-FazAl-Al-Madainy, from Abu Maram Al-Ansar, from MinhaAl-Bin Amro, from Razeyn Bin Habeysh who said: ‘I heard Aliasws say that: ‘When the servant enters his grave, two Angels come up to him, called Munkar and Nakeer. Firstly, they will question him about his Lordazwj, then about his Prophetsaww, then about his Waliasws (Guardian). If he answers (correctly) he achieves salvation, and if he is unable to do so, he gets Punished’.

م يعرف وليه فقال مذبذب ال إلى هؤالء وال إلى هؤالء ومن يضلل اهللا فلن تجد له فقال له رجل لمن عرف ربه ونبيه ولسبيال ذلك السبيل له وقد قيل للنبى صلى اهللا عليه وآله من الولى يا نبى اهللا قال وليكم في هذا الزمان على عليه السالم

قبلهم حين فارقتهم انبيائهم ربنا لوال ارسلت لئال يكون آما قال الضالل ومن بعده وصيه ولكل زمان عالم يحتج اهللا به تمام ضاللتهم جهالتهم بااليات وهم االوصياء ونخزىالينا رسوال نتبع آياتك من قبل ان نذل

A man said to himasws, ‘For the one who recognises his Lordazwj, and his Prophetsaww, and does not recognise his Waliasws?’ Heasws said: ‘Not to those, and not to those, and one whom Allahazwj Let’s astray, that way will not be found for him, there will be no way for him. And it was said to the Prophetsaww, ‘Who is the Waliasws O Prophetsaww?’ Hesaww said: ‘Your Wali in this era is Aliasws, and the oneasws after himasws, hisasws successorasws, and for every era there is a knowledgeable oneasws that Allahazwj Argues by, lest that they would say similar to what the former ones said when they were separated from their Prophetsas, ‘Our Lordazwj, Send to us a

Messenger so that we may follow Yourazwj Signs before we become disgraced and discredited’. They were completely misguided and ignorant from the Signs, as were (established) for the successorsas (of their Prophetsas)

Allahazwj Answered them. Heazwj Said “[20:135] Await: So you will come to know who is the follower of the even path and who goes right.” So, their waiting was that they said, ‘We are at the moment waiting to recognise the successoras until we end up recognising the Imamasws. So, due to that Allahazwj enabled them to recognise that. The successorsasws are the Masters of the Bridge (Al-Siraat). They will be made to pause to themasws. None will enter the Paradise except the one who recognises themasws and theyasws recognise him, and none will enter the Fire except the one who denies themasws and theyasws deny him, because theyasws are the recognisers (Urafaa) of Allahazwj whom Allahazwj Made themasws to be recognised when the Covenant was taken with them, and has Described them in Hisazwj Book. The Mighty and Majestic Said “[7:46] And on the Heights are men who know them all by their marks”.

هم والنبى الشهيد عليهم اخذ لهم مواثيق العباد بالطاعة واخذ النبي صلى اهللا عليه وآله عليهم هم الشهداء على اوليائالمواثيق بالطاعة فجرت نبوته عليهم وذلك قول اهللا فكيف إذا جئنا من آل امة بشهيد وجئنا بك على هؤالء شهيدا يومئذ

. اهللا حديثايود الذين آفروا وعصوا الرسول لو تسوى بهم االرض وال يكتمون Theyasws are witnesses over theirasws friends, and the prophetsaww is the witness over themasws, having taken a Covenant for themasws over the servants of their obedience to themasws, and the Prophetsaww took a Covenant to themasws for theirasws obedience to himsaww. Hissaww Prophet-hood flows through themasws, and that is the Statement of Allahazwj “[4:41] How will it be, then, when We bring from every people a witness and bring you as a witness against these? [4:42] On that day will those who disbelieve and disobey the Messenger desire that the earth were levelled with them, and they shall not hide any word from Allah”

Youasws and the successorsasws from after youasws and theirasws recognisers. Allahazwj cannot be recognised except by way of yourasws recognition, and the recognisers will not let anyone enter the Paradise except the one who recognises themasws and theyasws will recognise him, and the recognisers will not let anyone enter the Fire except the one who denies themasws and theyasws will deny him’.

11 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Al-Husayn, from Muha Bin Sa’dan, from Abdullah Bin Al-Qasim, from one of his companions, from Sa’d Al-Askaaf who said: ‘I said to Abu Ja’farasws, the Statement of the Mighty and Majestic “[7:46] And on the Heights are men who know them all by their marks”. Heasws said: ‘Theyasws are the “A’raaf” (Recognisers) who will not let anyone enter the Paradise except the one who recognises themasws and theyasws will recognise him, and will not let anyone enter the Fire except the one who denies themasws and theyasws will deny him. Allahazwj cannot be recognised except by the way of theirasws recognition. They are not equal to the one who stages a sitting and those that sit in it. And the one who went on the religion of the people, the people went to a turbid spring emptying one on to the other, and the one who came to the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww, came to a clean spring flowing with the knowledge of Allahazwj, for which there is no depletion nor interruption (in the flow), and that Allahazwj, had Heazwj so Desired, would not have Nurtured the person until he came to Hisazwj door, because Allahazwj has Made Muhammadsaww and the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww as Doors which are from Himazwj, and that is Hisazwj Statement “[2:189] and it is not righteousness that you should enter the houses at their backs, but righteousness is this that one should guard; and go into the houses by their doors”.

The one whom weasws recognise as being from usasws, and the one from usasws will be in the Paradise, and the one whom weasws deny will be in the Fire’.

16 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Al-Husayn, from Ibn Asnaan, from Amaar Bin Marwaan, from Al-Mankhal, who said: ‘I asked Abu Ja’farasws about the “A’raaf”. Heasws said: ‘Theyasws are the creatures most Prestigious to Allahazwj’.

حدثنا على بن اسماعيل عن صفوان بن يحيى عن اسحق بن عمار عن ابى عبد اهللا في قول اهللا عزوجل وعلى ) 17( . عليه وآلهاالعراف رجال يعرفون آال بسيماهم قال هم االئمة من اهل بيت محمد صلى اهللا

17 – It has been narrated to us by Ali Bin Ismail, from Safwaan Bin Yahya, from Is’haq Bin Amaar, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws regarding the Statement of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic “[7:46] And on the Heights are men who know them all by their marks”, said: ‘Theyasws are the Imamsasws from the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww’.

حدثنا عباد بن سليمان عن سعد بن سعد قال سألت ابا جعفر عليه السالم من هذه االية وعلى االعراف رجال ) 18( . يعرفون آال بسيماهم فقال هم يا سعد االئمة من آل محمد صلى اهللا عليه وآله

18 – It has been narrated to us by Abaad Bin Suleyman, from Sa’d Bin Sa’d who said: ‘I asked Abu Ja’farasws whoasws are these (men) in this Verse “[7:46] And on the Heights are men who know them all by their marks”?’ Heasws said: ‘O Sa’d, theyasws are the Imamsasws from the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww’.

حدثنا بعض اصحابنا عن محمد بن الحسين عن صفوان بن يحيى عن ابن مسكان عن ابى بصير عن ابى جعفر ) 19(عليه السالم في قول اهللا عزوجل وعلى االعراف رجال يعرفون آال بسيماهم قال االئمة منا اهل البيت في باب من ياقوت احمر على سور الجنة يعرف آل امام منا ما يليه قال رجل ما معنى ما يليه قال من القرن الذى هو فيه إلى القرن الذى

. آان19 – It has been narrated to us by one of our companions, from Muhammad Bin Al-Husayn, from Safwaan Bin Yahya, from Ibn Muskaan, from Abu Baseer, who said the following: ‘Abu Ja’far asws regarding the Statement of Allah azwj Mighty and Majestic “[7:46] And on the Heights are men who know them all by their marks”, said: ‘The Imamsasws from usasws, the Peopleasws of the Household, in the door of red rubies on the walls or the Paradise. Each Imamasws from usasws recognises what will be next’. A man said, ‘What is the meaning of “What will be next”?’ Heasws said: ‘From the century in which heasws is in to the century in which heasws was’.

CHAPTER 17 – REGARDING THE IMAMSasws, TO THEMasws SPOKE OTHER THAN THE ANIMALS

حدثنا ابراهيم بن هاشم عن الحسن بن على اليعقوبي عن بعض اصحابه عن عبد االعلى مولى آل سام عن ابى عبد ) 1(له سجت رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله فقال يا محمد جئتك ان اسألك عن ربك فان اهللا عليه السالم قال اتى يهودى يقال

اجبتني عما اسألك عنه واال رجعت قال سل عما شئت قال اين ربك قال هو في آل مكان وليس في شئ من المكان محدود ى قال فما بقى حوله حجر قال فكيف هو قال اصف ربى بالكيف والكيف مخلوق اهللا وال يوصف بخلقه فمن يعلم انك نب

وال غير ذلك اال تكلم بلسان عربي مبين ياسجت انه رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله فقال سجت باهللا ما رايت آاليوم ابين . ثم قال اشهد ان ال اله اال اهللا وان محمدا رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله

1 – It has been narrated to us by Ibrahim Bin Hasham, from Al-Hassan Bin Ali Al-Yaqouby, from one of his companions, from Abdul A’ala, the slave of the Clan of Saam, from Abu Abdullahasws having said: ‘A Jew by the name of Sajat came to the Messenger of Allahsaww. He said, ‘O Muhammadsaww, I have come to yousaww so that I may question yousaww about yoursaww Lordazwj. If yousaww answer me about what I ask from yousaww, I shall return (to yoursaww faith)’. Hesaww said: ‘Ask whatever you like’. He said, ‘Where is yoursaww Lordazwj?’ Hesaww said: ‘Heazwj is in every place, and there is nothing which is in a place, but it is limited by it’. He said, ‘How is Heazwj?’ Hesaww said: ‘You are describing mysaww Lordazwj by qualities, and the quality is a creation of Allahazwj, and cannot be described by Hisazwj creatures. The ‘one’ who teaches you, is a Prophetsaww’. There did not remain any stone, or anything else except that it spoke in the clear Arabic language, ‘O Sajat, hesaww is the Messenger of Allahsaww’. Sajat said, ‘By Allahazwj, I have not seen a day as clear like this’. Then he said, ‘I testify that there is no god but Allahazwj and that Muhammadsaww is the Messenger of Allahazwj’.

حدثنا احمد بن موسى عن احمد بن محمد المعروف بغزال عن محمد بن عمر الجرجاني يرفعه إلى عبد الرحمن بن ) 2(ؤمنين على بن ابى طالب عليه السالم قال دعاني رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله فوجهني إلى احمد السلمانى عن امير الم

اليمن ال صلح بينهم فقلت له يارسول اهللا عليه السالم انهم قوم آثير وانا شاب حدث فقال لى يا على عليه السالم إذا ول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله يقرأآم السالم صرت باعلى عقبة فيق فناد باعلى صوتك يا شجر يا مدر يا ثرى محمد رس

2 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Musa, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Al-Marouf Bagzaal, from Muhammad Bin Umar Al-Jarjany with an unbroken chain going up to Abdul Rahmad Bin Ahmad Al-Salman, who said: ‘Amir-ul-Momineen Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws said: ‘The Messenger of Allahsaww called measws. Hesaww directed measws to go to Yemen to effect a reconciliation between them. Iasws said to himsaww: ‘O Messenger of Allahsaww, they are a numerous people, and Iasws have recently become a young man’. Hesaww said to measws: ‘O Aliasws, whenever youasws come to a big obstacle, call out in a loud voice: ‘O tree, O mound of mud, O soil, Muhammadsaww, the Messengersaww of Allahazwj sends hissaww greetings to you’.

فلما صرت باعلى عقبة فيق اشرفت على اليمن فإذا هم باسرهم مقبلون نحوى مشرعون اسنتهم متنكبون قال فذهبت قسيهم شاهرون سالحهم فناديت با على صوتي يا شجر يامدر ياثرى محمد صلى اهللا عليه وآله يقرئكم السالم قال فلم يبق

فاضطربت صلى اهللا عليه وآله و عليك السالمشجرة وال مدرة وال ثرى اال ارتجت بصوت واحد وعلى محمد رسول اهللا .قوايم القوم وارتعدت رآبهم ووقع السالح من ايديهم و اقبلوا مسرعين فاصلحت بينهم وانصرفت

Heasws said: ‘Iasws went. When Iasws came to the high point of Uqba, therein were the honourable ones of Yemen who were all equipped with their weapons in readiness for battle. So Iasws called out in a loud voice: ‘O tree, O mound of mud, O soil, Muhammadsaww sends hissaww greetings to you’. Heasws said: ‘There did not remain a

tree, nor a mound of mud, nor soil except that they all responded in unison, ‘And upon Muhammadsaww the Messenger of Allahazwj, and upon youasws be greetings’. The people became restless and their knees trembled and the placed their weapons down from their hands and welcomed me in a rush. So Iasws effected a reconciliation between them and left’.

حدثنا احمد بن محمد ومحمد بن الحسين عن الحسن بن محبوب عن على بن رياب عن ابى عبد اهللا عليه السالم ) 3(وزرارة عن ابى جعفر عليه السالم قال لما قتل الحسين ارسل محمد بن الحنفية إلى على بن الحسين عليه السالم فخال به

ال له يابن اخى قد علمت ان رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله آان قد جعل الوصية واالمامة من بعده إلى على بن ابى ثم قطالب عليه السالم ثم إلى الحسن عليه السالم ثم إلى الحسين عليه السالم وقد قتل ابوك ولم يوص و انا عمك وصنو ابيك

منك في حداثتك فال تنازعني الوصية واالمامة وال تجانبنىووالدتي من على وانا في سنى وقديمي احق بها 3 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad and Muhammad Bin Al-Hassan, from Al-Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Ali Bin Rayaab, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws, as well as Zarara from Abu Ja’farasws having said: ‘When Al-Husaynasws was killed, Muhammad Bin Al-Hanafiyya sent a message to Aliasws Bin Al-Husaynasws. When he was alone with himasws, he said, ‘O son of my brotherasws, it is known that the Messenger of Allahsaww had made the bequest and the Imamate from after himsaww to Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws, then to Al-Hassanasws, then to Al-Husaynasws, and yourasws fatherasws has been killed and heasws did not bequeath, and I am yourasws uncle, and a twin of yourasws father, and have been born from Aliasws, and I, in age am older and more deserving of it than youasws are regarding recent events. Do not dispute with me regarding the bequest and the Imamate, and do not put me on the side’.

ان تكون من الجاهلين يا عم ان ابى صلوات فقال له على بن الحسين يا عم اتق اهللا وال تدع ما ليس لك بحق انى اعظك اهللا عليه اوصى إلى قبل ان يتوجه إلى العراق وعهد إلى في ذلك قبل ان يستشهد بساعة وهذا سالح رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله عندي فال تتعرض لهذا فانى اخاف عليك نقص العمر وتشتت الحال تعال حتى نتحاآم إلى الحجر االسود

ذلكونسئله عن Aliasws Bin Al-Husaynasws said to him: ‘O uncle, fear Allahazwj and do not make a claim to what is not for you by right. Iasws am admonishing you, lest you become one of the ignorant. O uncle, myasws fatherasws bequeathed to measws before heasws directed himselfasws to Iraq, and took an oath to measws with regards to that an hour before heasws was martyred, and these are the weapons of the Messenger of Allahsaww in myasws possession. Do not expose yourself to this matter, for Iasws fear for you a reduction in your life and you should disperse immediately. Come, let us go for judgement to the Black Stone (Al-Hajr Al-Aswad), and we ask it about that’.

هل إلى اهللا وسله قال أبو جعفر عليه السالم وآان الكالم بينهما بمكة فانطلقا حتى إذا اتيا الحجر فقال على لمحمد ابداء وابتان ينطق لك فسأله محمد وابتهل في الدعاء وسأل اهللا ثم دعا الحجر فلم يجبه فقال له على بن الحسين عليه السالم اما انك يا عم لو آنت وصيا وامام ال جابك فقال له محمد فادع انت يابن اخى وسله فدعا اهللا على بن الحسين بما اراد ثم قال

ك ميثاق االنبياء واالوصياء و ميثاق الناس اجمعين لما اخبرتنا من الوصي واالمام بعد الحسين بن اسئلك بالذى جعل في على عليه السالم

Abu Ja’farasws said: ‘There was a discussion between them at Mecca, and they went until they came up to the Stone. Aliasws said to Muhammad: ‘Demonstrate it by supplicating to Allahazwj and ask it to speak to you’. Muhammad asked it, and supplicated in the supplication, and asked Allahazwj. Then he called out to the Stone. It did not answer him. Aliasws Bin Al-Husaynasws said to him: ‘But, O uncle, if you were the successorasws and the Imamasws, it would have answered you’. Muhammad said to himasws, ‘You supplicate, O sonasws of my brotherasws, and ask it’. Aliasws Bin Al-

Husaynasws supplicated to Allahazwj of what heasws wanted, then heasws said: ‘Iasws ask you, by the One Whoazwj Made to be in you the Covenant of the Prophetssaww and the successorsas and the Covenant of the people altogether, inform us of the successorasws and the Imamasws after Al-Husayn Bin Aliasws’.

موضعه ثم انطقه اهللا بلسان عربي مبين فقال اللهم ان الوصية واالمامة بعد الحسين فتحرك الحجر حتى آاد ان يزول عن بن على عليه السالم إلى على بن الحسين بن على عليه السالم ابن فاطمة عليها السالم بنت رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله

. على بن الحسين يتولىصلوات اهللا عليهم فانصرف محمد بن الحنفية وهوThe Stone moved until it was about to be displaced from its original place, then Allahazwj Made it speak in clear Arabic language. It said: ‘Our Allahazwj, The successorship and the Imamate after Al-Husayn Bin Aliasws is to (be with) Aliasws Bin Al-Husaynasws Bin Aliasws, the sonasws of Fatimaasws, the daughterasws of the Messenger of Allahsaww’. Muhammad Bin Al-Hanafiyya left, and he befriended Ali Bin Al-Husaynasws’.

عليه السالم حدثنا محمد بن الجارود عن جعفر بن محمد بن يونس الكوفى عن رجل من اصحابنا عن ابى عبد اهللا) 4(قال لما انتهى رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله إلى رآن الغربي قال فجازه فقال له الرآن يا رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله

قال فدنا منه النبي صلى اهللا عليه وآله فقال اسكن عليك السالم لست بعيدا من بيت ربك فما بالى ال لستسلم؟؟ . غير مهجور

4 – It has been narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Al-Jaroud, from Ja’far Bin Muhammad Bin Yunus Al-Kufy, from a man from our companions, who said: ‘Abu Abdullahasws having said: ‘When the Messenger of Allahsaww ended up at the Western Corner (Rukn Al-Gharby), it said to himsaww: ‘O Messenger of Allahsaww, I am not distant from the House of yoursaww Lordazwj, so how come yousaww did not greet me?’ The Prophetsaww approached it. Hesaww said: ‘Be at rest, upon you be peace, Isaww have not abandoned you’.

. التى اآلت بخيبر وما من نبى وال وصى واال شهيدالنبي صلى اهللا عليه وآله عند موته اليوم قطعت مطاياى االآلة 5 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al-Husayn Bin Saeed, from Al-Qasim Bin Muhammad, from Ali, from Abu Baseer, who has narrated the following: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘The Messenger of Allahsaww was poisoned on the day of Khayber. The meat spoke: ‘O Messenger of Allahsaww, I am poisonous’. The Prophetsaww said near to hissaww passing away: ‘Today mysaww insides have been rent asunder by the meal which Isaww ate at Khyber, and there is none from a Prophetas or a successoras, but is a martyr’.

. عليه وآله انى مسموم فترآه وما ذاك ينتقض به سمه حتى مات صلى اهللا عليه وآله6 – It has been narrated to us by Ibrahim Bin Hashim, from Ja’far Bin Muhammad, from Abdullah Bin Maymoun Al-Qadaah, who has narrated the following: ‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘The arm (of a cooked sheep) spoke to the Prophetsaww and the Jews heard it. And the Messenger of Allahsaww loved the arm, and the shoulder, but disliked the hip due to its proximity to the Excretion. When hesaww was given the grill (meat), hesaww ate from the arm, and hesaww used to like it. Hesaww ate whatever Allahazwj so Desired, then the arm spoke, ‘O Messenger of Allahsaww, I am poisonous. Hesaww left it, and that did not invalidate its poison, until hesaww passed away’.

لمؤمنين عليه السالم قال دعاني رسول اصحاب بشير المريسى عن ابى يوسف عن ابى حنيفة عن عبد الرحمن عن امير ااهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله و وجهنى إلى اهل اليمن ال صلح بينهم فقلت يا رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله انهم قوم آثير وانا شاب حدث فقال يا على إذا صرت باعلى عقبة فيق به ناد باعلى صوتك يا حجر يا شجر يا مدرى يا ثرى محمد رسول

لى اهللا عليه وآله يقرئكم السالم اهللا ص7 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Musa, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad the slave of Hareyz Bin Ziyaaat, from Muhammad Bin Umeyr Al-Jarjany, from a man from the companions of Basheer Al-Muraysi, from Abu Yusuf, from Abu Hanifa, from Abdul Rahman, who has said: ‘Amir-ul-Momineenasws said: ‘The Messenger of Allahsaww called measws. Hesaww directed measws to go to Yemen to effect a reconciliation between them. Iasws said to himsaww: ‘O Messenger of Allahsaww, they are numerous people, and Iasws have recently become a young man’. Hesaww said to measws: ‘O Aliasws, whenever youasws come to a big obstacle, call out in a loud voice: ‘O tree, O mound of mud, O soil, Muhammadsaww, the Messengersaww of Allahazwj sends hissaww greetings to you’. قال فمضيت فلما صرت باعلى عقبة فيق اشرفت على اهل اليمن فإذا هم باسرهم مقبلون نحوى مشرعون اسنتهم متنكبون قسيهم شاهرون سالحهم فناديت باعلى صوتي يا حجر يامدر يا ثرى ان محمدا رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله يقرئكم

ة وال ثرى اال ارتجت بصوت واحد وعلى محمد رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله السالم فلم تبق حجرة وال شجرة وال مدروعليك السالم فاضطربت فرائص القوم وارتعدت رآبتهم ووقع السالح من اديهم واقبلوا نحوى مسرعين فاصلحت بينهم

. وانصرفتHeasws said: ‘Iasws went. When Iasws came to the high point of Uqba, therein were the honourable ones of Yemen who were all equipped with their weapons in readiness for battle. So Iasws called out in a loud voice: ‘O tree, O mound of mud, O soil, Muhammadsaww sends hissaww greetings to you’. Heasws said: ‘There did not remain a tree, nor a mound of mud, nor soil except that they all responded in unison, ‘And upon Muhammadsaww the Messenger of Allahazwj, and upon youasws be greetings’. The people became restless and their knees trembled and the placed their weapons down from their hands and welcomed me in a rush. So Iasws effected a reconciliation between them and left’.

حدثنا احمد بن الحسين عن محمد بن ابراهيم عن عبد اهللا بن احمد بن آليب قال حدثنى محمد بن مسمع قال حدثنى ) 8(ان رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله دخل هو وسهل بن صالح بن حسان عن ابراهيم بن عبد االآرم االنصاري ثم النجارى

حنيف وخالد ابن ايوب االنصاري حايطا من حيطان بنى نجار فلما دخل ناداه حجر على رأس بئر لهم عليه السوانى يه يصيح عليك السالم يا محمد اشفع إلى ربك ان ال يجعلني من حجارة جهنم التى يعذب بها الكفرة فقال النبي صلى اهللا عل

وآله ورفع يديه اللهم ال تجعل هذا الحجر من احجار جهنم ثم ناداه الرمل السالم عليك يا محمد ورحمة اهللا وبرآاته ادع اهللا ربك ان ال يجعلني من آبريت جهنم فرفع النبي صلى اهللا عليه وآله يديه وقال اللهم ال تعجل هذا الرمل من آبريت

عليه وآله إلى النخل تدلت العراجين فاخذ منها رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله فاآل و جهنم فلما دنا رسول اهللا صلى اهللا اطعم ثم دنى من العجوة فلما احسته سجدت فبارك عليها رسول اهللا صلى اهللا عليه وآله قال اللهم بارك عليها وانفع بها

. الجنةفمن ثم روت العامة ان الكماة من المن وثمارها شفاء للعين والعجوة من 8 – It has been narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Al-Husayn, from Muhammad Bin Ibrahim, from Abdullah Bin Ahmad Bin Kaleb, from Muhammad Bin Masma’a, from Saaleh Bin Hasaan, from Ibrahim Bin Abdul Akram Al-Ansary, then Al-Najary that: ‘The Messenger of Allahsaww entered along with Sahl Bin Haneyf, and Khalid Ibn Ayub Al-Ansary, in a wall from the walls of Bu Najaar. When hesaww entered, the stone at the top of their well called out shouting, ‘And peace be upon yousaww, O Muhammadsaww, intercede to yoursaww Lordazwj that Heazwj should not Make me to be one of the stones of Hell, with which to Punish the infidels’. The Prophetsaww lifted hissaww hands and said: ‘Oursaww Lordazwj, do not Make this stone to be one of the stones of Hell’. Then the sand called out to himsaww, ‘Peace be upon yousaww, O

Muhammadsaww, and Mercy of Allahazwj and Hisazwj Blessings. Supplicate to Allahazwj, yoursaww Lordazwj that Heazwj should not Make me to be of the igniters of Hell’. The Prophetsaww raised hissaww hands and said: ‘Oursaww Allahazwj, do not Make this sand to be of the igniters of Hell’. When the Messenger of Allahsaww approached the palm tree, the dates were dangling from it. The Messenger of Allahsaww took from it. Hesaww ate and fed, then the (Al-Ajwa) dates lowered themselves. When hesaww felt it prostrating, the Messenger of Allahsaww blessed it. Hesaww said: ‘Oursaww Allahazwj, Bless it, and Isaww have benefitted from it’. Hence the general public has narrated that Al-Kamaat (truffles) are from Al-Mann (Manna), and its fruit is a healing for the eye, and Al-Ajwa (dates) is from the Paradise’.
