STN Stimulation in Parkinson‘s disease
• Deep brain stimulation-activate?
• This should further enhance the indirect pathway
• Stimulation at high frequencies actually reduces STN activity
• Reduces indirect pathway
• Mechanism still not completely understood – Basic Research needed
