Space heating and cooling: Installing external solar shading systems

Increasing the use of free cooling

Improving the internal ambient conditions in the main hall

Operating the air conditioning system in a smoother way allowing greater internal temperature fluctuations, to enable a larger use of free cooling and to minimise the use of the peak heat pump

To adapt air conditioning electric load to the present and foreseen production of the PV plant

Lighting: Installing movement, natural lights and presence sensors to control lighting

1. Analyzing, measuring and forecasting occupancy (which varies from 20 to 700 people per day)- use of electrical equipment accordingly Input: Schedules Output: A weekly schedule based on upcoming scheduled rehearsals, past occupancy data,

approximate durations, employees’ habits

2. Employees’ and artists’ encouragement for changing back-stage rooms Input: Weather forecasting data Output: A weekly schedule of working places based on temperature, humidity and lighting

conditions

1. Management of the artificial lighting system, according to natural lighting conditions2. Input: Weather forecasting data3. Output: A detailed weekly schedule of lighting hours per room

– Integration of the user’s experience data and employees’ satisfaction input, deriving from social networks to the DSS

Input: Social data (tweets referring to the “Theatre Auditori hashtag”) Output: Classified and analyzed data, providing feedback on actions and affecting future energy

management related decisions.
