Expansion.
Debottlenecking (to boost production by remedying/removing the problems/constraints withpiece of equipment/process that create more efficient or make it workable).
Modification of the existing plan:-
Thermal duty of heat exchangers.
Compressor for new gas composition = by equipment supplier.
Distillation column trays for new gas/liquid traffic = by equipment supplier.
Verification of:
Suitability of equipment + piping for new tem + pressure conditions.
Hydraulic calculations of pipework given the new flow conditions.
Control valves + pressure relief valves to be checked to have adequate capacity to cover the n
operating requirements.
Change of operating conditions for process equipment -> The duty must be checked for new condi
e.g.
New unit is added to the existing facility = will use some existing facility utilities (fuel gas, electrical
power, cooling medium, instrument air ) = need to verify.
