› Offensive goals: carry and throw ball, not much kicking
› Defensive goals: keep other team from scoring…tackle them

Anyone can play as long as they have a ball and a field to play in
Official play can be organized around› Children’s teams› Powder-puff teams (generally for girls)› High School or Middle School Teams› College Teams› Professional Teams
You can play whenever you want College teams
› Regular Season: Late August to late November
› Bowl Games: December and January Professional teams
› Regular Season: Fall› Post Season: January
You can play in a field for fun Official play happens in a stadium
Kickoff› To start the game› Kicker kicks ball to opposing team› Decides where you start your Offensive Drive
Offensive: Score, Score, Score!› Run, Pass, or Kick the Ball to the End Zone to Score› 4 downs (turns) to go 10 yards
Defensive: Get the ball back!› Prevent offensive from going 10 yards in 4 downs
Intercept the ball Tackle another player (especially the Quarter Back)
› Create a turnover
Get the ball to the End Zone› Touchdown for 6 points
Extra points Kick between goal posts for 1 point Run into End Zone again for 2 points
› Field goal (Kick between goal posts) 3 points
