l. INTRODUCTIpN
Golden Rim Resources holds a block of 127 claims in Bateman Township, Kenora Mining Division.
Noramco Exploration Inc. entered into an agreement with Golden Rim Resources to explore the potential for gold mineralization on the claim group. From the end of September to the beginning of November 1986, Noramco Exploration Inc. carried 1500 metres of diamond drilling which was completed by the beginning of March, 1987.
The Following report outlines the work done and the results obtained in the winter 1987 drill program.
2 ' SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION
Seven holes for a total of 1500 metres of BQ core was drilled on the Hoyles Bay property between January 15 and March 3, 1987 by M&B Drilling. While drilling improved the results obtained from surface sampling, no economic gold mineralization was intersected. Structural influences are considered to be the main contributing factor for the localization of gold. Sixty percent of the gold values greater than 100 ppb were located directly at lithological contacts in areas of magnetically interpreted faulting. Geochemical l y anomalous gold mineralization (95-455 ppb Au) was encountered in virtually every rock type. As there is no correlation of anomalous zones between drill holes, no evidence for a lithologic control exists. Follow up drilling using these guidelines and available geologic and geophysical data, is recommended in the following areas;
1) Between L22E and L26E, 2 + 50S to 4 + 50S, a section of an otherwise continuous E.M. anomaly has been dislocated to the north. A corresponding break in the magnetic response indicates faulting.
Eight I.P. anomalies were registered in this small zone. The high chargeability, low resistivity readings indicate a high concentration of sulphides in chert.
2) Two parallel continuous I.P. anomalies are found in the sediments south of the above area. These are;
a) L22E to L25E, 7+75S to 8+50S.High to very high resistivities and chargeabilities wereregistered.Spectral I.P. data indicates fine-grained sulphides arepresent.One of the station anomalies was rated a priority by thegeophysicist in charge of the survey.
-
l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l
b) L22E to L25E, 6+OOS to 7+OOS.Moderate to high resistivities along with low to high chargeabilities were encountered. Spectral I.P. data indicated the presence of fine-grained sulphides. Two of the four station anomalies were rated a priority to be drilled.
3) An E.M. conductor with significant continuity shows a break in its magnetic signature in an area where previous drilling intersected 680 ppb and 1020 ppb gold. The area in question is between L36E, 7+25S to 7 + 25S and L37+50E, 8+OOS to 8+75S. Two I.P. anomalies, one of which has a priority rating are co incident with the E.M. anomaly. The high to very high chargeability response is due to coarse-grained sulphides as determined by spectral data.
4) Immediately south and roughly parallel to the area above is a zone defined by four I. P. anomalies, three of which have a priority rating. The area is between L36E, 8+25 to 8+75S, and L37+50E, 9+50 to 10+25S. The source of the moderate chargeability is fine-grained disseminated sulphides as determined by spectral data.
5) South of the above I.P. anomaly is an E.M. conductor in mafic volcanics. The conductor has 3 corresponding I.P. anomalies of moderate to high chargeability and low resistivity. As there is no magnetic correlation, this conductor may represent a dilational shear zone with sulphides.
6) The area between L15E and L17E, 2 +75S to 4 + 50S defines a break in an E.M. conductor and it's corresponding magnetic signature. Also located within this zone are two I.P. anomalies of high to very high chargeability and low resistivity. The response is due to coarse-grained sulphides. The low resistivity may be the result of alteration in this zone of potential faulting.
7) In the north central portion a fold structure has been interpreted to exist based on ground magnetics. From L26E, 4+25N ti 6+50N, to L28E, 3+75N to 6+25N to L30E, 4+50N to 6+50N, there exists a broad formational feature with a large volume of chargeable material. I.P. spectral data from two priority rated anomalies located within this zone indicated fine-grained sulphides at depth. Therefore, fine-grained sulphide mineralization localized in a fold structure presents a target. A detailed ground magnetometer survey, with lines at 50 metre intervals, over this fold structure would prove very useful in delineating its true shape, and thereby further defining the target.

4. WORK DONE
The drilling was done under contract by M&B Drilling of Powell Rover B.C. between January 15 and March 3, 1987. Over this time period, a total of 1500 metres of BQ core in 7 holes was drilled as listed below. All core was logged and a total of 900 samples, representing approximately half the core, was split and sent for assaying.
The core is presently stored in racks at the Old Buffalo Mine site, just outside the southern boundary of the town of Red Lake.
Drill logs, sections and a plan showing the drill hole locations are included in this report {see figures 1-8).

5. RESULTS
A summary of all significant assay results is presented in Table 2 in the Appendix.
NHB-87-01: The hole was collared to test an E.M. conductor, an interpreted fault zone, and a mineralized lineament. A 5 metre section of massive sulphides was intersected between 151.4 and 156.3m and is considered to represent the E.M. anomaly. Consistently low gold assays ranging from 10-52 ppb were obtained from this zone. A fault breccia intersected between 124.1 and 124.7m corresponds well with the location of the magnetically interpreted fault. The lineament which to the southwest contains gold mineralization was not intersected. Approximately 7C^ of this hole consisted of felsic volcanics, a unit which had not been identified during the fall mapping program. This unit was subsequently intersected in the next five drill holes. No significant gold values were obtained from this hole.
NHB-87-02: The objective was to intersect an E.M. anomaly and two magnetic highs.The massive sulphides intersected between 71.59-91.97m and 174.1- 211.0m were responsible for the E.M. anomaly and the two magnetic highs. While these sections were barren, anomalous gold values were intersected. A sulphide bearing chert unit at the tip of the hole returned a value of 680ppb Au over 0.6m (10.1-10.7). A check assay however failed to verify the original assay. The contact zone between a mafic tuff and chert unit yielded 278 ppb Au over 2.4m (172.6-175.0). Mineralization included thin fuchsite and blue quartz veins along with pyrite and pyrrhotite. A 30 metre wide ultramafic intrusion was intersected near the beginning of the hole. This rock type was not recognized during the mapping program. Ultramafic intrusion were also intersected in holes #5,6 and 7.
NHB-87-03: This hole was designed to test a "massivesulphide" I. P. response in the vicinity of a potential faultstructure.Massive sulphides (pyrrhotite, magnetite and pyrite) wereintersected between 72.6 and 82.9m.
NHB-87-04: This hole was drilled to test for an interpreted structural break between two iron formations.Virtually the entire hole was comprised of an intermediate to felsic volcaniclastic unit. A 0.9m section (59.5-60.4m) containing three thin quartz veins and trace fuchsite ran 268 ppb Au (averaged). No other significant gold assays were returned.
NHB-87-05: The objective was to test an I.P. anomaly flankingand apparent fold structure as outlined by a ground magnetometersurvey.The source of the high resistivity anomaly is considered to be afelsic volcanic unit which comprises over 85% of this hole.
-
l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l
Certain sections of this volcanic unit displays intense potassic alteration. A value of 250 ppb Au over 0.9ra (177.1-178.Oro) was obtained from an mafic dike which contained irregular quartz veins and 1 ^ disseminated pyrite. No other anomalous gold values were obtained.
NHB-87-06: The purpose was to test a short isolated E.M. anomaly with a correponding magnetic high.A chert unit intersected between 54.8 and 60.0m containing 10% pyrrhotite is considered to be the source of the E.M. anomaly. Ultramafic intrusions containing disseminated magnetite comprise 60% of this hole. The cumulative effect of these intrusions are considered to be responsible for the "bull"s-eye" magnetic high. No significant gold values were obtained.
NHB-87-07: This hole was designed to test a short isolated E.M. conductor with a corresponding magnetic high. A chert unit with 15% pyrite and pyrrhotite, intersected between 34.57 and 41.46m is considered to be responsible for the E.M. anomaly. Weak to moderately magnetic ultramafic intrusions comprise approximately 15% of this hole. This, along with the pyrrhotite that is weakly disseminated throughout most of th hole would account for the magnetic high. Two horizons intersected anomalous gold values. A wacke unit with l* pyrite produced an assay of 150 ppb Au over 0.58m (144.9-145,48m) and 303 ppb Au over 1.8m (135.0-136. 8m) . The best section from this last interval was 455 ppb Au over 0.9m (135.0-135.9ra) . Downhole of the wacke unit a section of chert containing 5% pyrrhotite and 2% pyrite produced an assay of 360 ppb Au over 0.75m (148.95- 145.7m). Interesting alteration included S-10% sericite in the intermediate tufaceous into and trace molybdenum on fracture surfaces in the upper two wacke horizons,
6. CONCLUSIONS
Four of the seven drill holes in this program intersected zones of gold mineralization greater than 200 ppb. These are;
NHB-87-02: 10.1-10.7m ppb fold in a section of chert containing 5% pyrrhotite and 1.^ pyrite.
172.6-175.Oro, 278 ppb gold averaged over the contact between a mafic tuff (blue quartz veins with pyrite and pyrrhotite) and a chert unit (5% pyrite and pyrrhotite).
NHB-87-04: 59.5-60.4m, 268 ppb gold obtained from a felsic volcanic unit with quartz veining and trace fuchsite.
NHB-87-05: 177.1-178, Om, 250 pb gold in a mafic dike with quartz viewing and disseminated pyrite.
-
l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l
NHB-87-07: 135.0-136.8m, 303 ppb gold in a wacke unit with 13; pyrite. The interval 144.9-145.48, also from this same wacke unit, returned an assay of 120 ppb gold.
148 . 95-149 . 7m, 360 ppb gold from a section of chert containing 5% pyrrhotite and 2% pyrite.
Gold mineralization, as revealed by drilling, is found in all of the respective rock units on this property. The auriferous zones were accompanied by quartz veining and/or sulphide mineralization. Gold bearing horizons did not correlate between drill holes. It is thus considered that the localization fo gold mineralization is structurally controlled. Further evidence to support this view lies in the face that six out of the ten gold values greater than 100 ppb were located directly at a lithologic break. Rock contacts represent zones of weakness which may act as conduits for mineralizing fluids during a hydrothermal flooding event. Unfortunately, the drilling does not discern any specific formational boundary as being of particular interest. What perhaps is of more importance to the mineralization model is the presence of crosscutting structures, the intersection of which may prove favorable for the localization of gold mineralization. Structural breaks impinging on forrnational interfaces may then represent viable targets for future exploration.

PurposeTo intersect an E.H.anomaly and tvo aagnetic highs.
Conclusions
Recommendations
The Bassive sulphides intersected between 71.59-91.97 and 174.1-211.0 vere responsible for the E.H.anonaly and the tvo aagnetic highs.
Structural breaks in the Bassive sulphide stratigraphy ae outlined by the ground sag.survey should be drill tested
