Principal’s Report
Dear Parents/Caregivers What a great term it has been. The students and staff have worked hard in all areas both in the classroom and on many extra-curricular activities. The playground and hallways have been full with happy students and staff. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for their dedication to teaching and to the students and parents for making our school a great place to be. NAIDOC Week This week our school celebrated NAIDOC week. The week started with a special assembly where the children learnt more about the purpose of NAIDOC week. Each stage then participated in the Great Wiradjuri Race learning Wiradjuri language, dug for witchetty grubs, Aboriginal animal dancing just to name a few. Our Aboriginal Dance Group went to Mackillop to perform for the community. Many of our students enjoyed their meal deal today. Thank you to our Aboriginal Education team for a great week. Parent Interviews Parent interviews will be held in Week 2 next term. Most of the classes will hold their interviews on the Tuesday afternoon from 3:30-7pm, so keep the date free. If you are unable to make this time you can contact the school for an alternative time. A note will be sent home about the interviews next term.
Attendance Morning Tea There are over 120 students attending morning tea with the Principal tomorrow morning to celebrate great attendance. Staff Development Day Students will return to school on the 17th July. The staff returns on the Monday for a Staff Development Day. Staff will be working on our Scope and Sequence for PDHPE curriculum, learning the practical Restorative Justice and Attendance Procedures. Class of the Week Congratulations to 5/6G. Mrs Guihot’s class will be performing at this week’s assembly and they will sit on the steps in the hall. Mr Snow Away Mr Snow will be away sick until the end of term. I will relieve in his position Regards, Jodeen Jackson Relieving Principal
