Battle of Legnica

13 february 1241 year there was the first battle between polish and Turks under a Big Tursk. That is mayor krakowian Wlodzimierz, who went to help people of Sandomierz.

Unfortunately Poles had a big loss after ambush. The main part of the war started in the 10th of march simultaneously with the Batuchan’s attack against Hungary.

The military army conducted by Pajdar quickly passed the Vistula river and in the 18th of march gained victory near Chmielnik over knights of south Poland. Wlodzimierz and Klemens died.

Now two armies set of on Kujawy and near Raciborz.The only one victory of the polish people over the Tatars was just near Raciborz.

The prince Opole – Mieszko the Dick managed to surprise foreign army during crossing the Odra river, but the battle was not important.
