A Short Chronology of the Jihad Era

This relatively short chronology lays out all of the events that defined the Word of Blake

Jihad from just before its start in 3067 until its final tragic act in 3081 following the liberation of

Terra from the Blakists and the establishment of the Republic of the Sphere. The fifteen blood-

soaked years of the Blakist Jihad was to have a transformative effect upon the Inner Sphere, and

indeed all of human space, as the remaining homeworld Clans also were riven by the Wars of

Reaving at this same time. In the decades to come, humanity would know a few short decades of

peace before the inevitable return of warfare during the Dark Age.

Part I: Dawn of the Jihad, 3066-3068

February 18:The Word of Blake declares the formation of the Word of Blake Protectorate in the

anarchic region of space surrounding Terra, including many Chaos March worlds. Word of Blake

Militia forces begin to occupy and administer these planets as de factoBlakist territories.

March 7:The mercenary companies Wolfs Dragoons, the Northwind Highlanders and the Dismal

Disinherited form the unified Allied Mercenary Command (AMC) to pool their resources and stem

the rising Word of Blake influence in the Chaos March following the establishment of the Word of

Blake Protectorate. The rise of the Protectorate is viewed as a threat to all of the different mercenary

companies.

April 20:The five-year-long Federated Commonwealth Civil War finally ends with the deposition

of Archon Katherine Steiner-Davion of the Lyran Alliance by the forces of Archon-Prince Victor

Steiner-Davion, her brother. After securing the Federated Commonwealth capital world of New

Avalon, Victor abdicates the throne of the Federated Commonwealth and dissolves that realm back

into its component stellar nations, the Federated Suns and the Lyran Alliance. Victor installs his

sister Yvonne Steiner-Davion as the Princess Regent of the Federated Suns and his Mechwarrior

brother Peter Steiner-Davion as the new Archon of the Lyran Alliance. Victor Steiner-Davion

retains only the position of Precentor Martial of ComStar. Katherine Steiner-Davion is placed into

Victors custody after being banished from both the Federated Suns and the Lyran Alliance, and is

placed in a specially prepared prison on the Lyran world of Arc-Royal, the homeworld of the Kell

Hounds mercenaries and Clan Wolf-in-Exile. However, Khan Vlad Ward of Clan Wolf arrives on

Arc-Royal and demands that Katherine be handed over to him or he will launch another invasion of

the Inner Sphere now that the Truce of Tukayyid has expired. Puzzled, Victor hands his sister over

to the man who is her lover.

September 8:With the recent deaths of four Clan leaders, the Northwind Highlanders exercise

escape clauses in all current contracts and begin to return home for elections.

October 10: Despite the efforts of the Allied Mercenary Command (AMC), the planet Hall joins

the Free Worlds League. Blakist machinations are suspected in Halls defection.

October 15-19: Commanded by Wayne Waco, rogue mercenaries in Harlech City on the

mercenary world of Outreach launch a surprise attack against Wolfs Dragoons and the Hiring Hall.

Roughly half of the on-planet Dragoons forces are destroyed by October 19th. The Dragoons

famed Supreme Commander Jaime Wolf is killed in battle. The Dragoons subsequent Condition

Feral assures no survivors among the primary attacking mercenary forces, including the 51st Dark

Panzer Brigade, Smithsons Chinese Bandits and Wacos Rangers. Evidence of Blakist influence in

organizing and lauching the assault as revenge for the actions of the AMC in the Chaos March is

uncovered.

November:The mercenary Dismal Disinheriteds 2nd Regiment arrives on Outreach from the

world of Tall Trees. Wolfs Dragoons General Maeve Wolf, en route to Outreach with theDragoons Alpha Regimentrecently released from its contract to deal with the emergency situation

on Outreach and the devastation of the Dragoonsorders the Dragoons Gamma Regiment to

exercise its contract escape clause from Tikonov.

November 28:The Fourth Whitting Conference of the Second Star League begins on Tharkad,

with all of the five Great Houses in attendance save House Liao, and representatives from ComStar,

the Word of Blake, the Rasalhague Republic and the Taurian Concordat also in attendance. After a

scathing message delivered by courier from Chancellor Sun-Tzu Liao of the Capellan Confederation,

Princess Regent Yvonne Steiner-Davion of the Federated Suns and Archon Peter Steiner-Davion of

the Lyran Alliance announce plans to withdraw their states from the Star League, citing internal

matters and the heavy financial burdens placed upon their realms by the recent FedCom Civil War.

Despite a desperate bid to shore up the Star League by inducting the Word of Blake and the Taurian

Concordat as members to provide support in the League Council against a looming no confidence

vote, the Second Star League formally dissolves itself. The members of the Word of Blake are

incensed, having believed that their organizations induction into the League was part of a divine

prophecy that would initiate a sequence of events ending in their rule over mankind. The Blakistsdecide that they will make the prophecy come true by force if necessary.

December 5:After a final threat from Word of Blake representatives to reform the Star League,

Blakist fleets attack Tharkad and New Avalon, the planetary capitals of the Lyran Alliance and the

Federated Suns, respectively. The assault on Tharkad is spearheaded by the long-lost WarShip LCS

Invincible, in Star League colors and crewed by Word of Blake, which the organization had intended

to provide as a gift to the Lyrans following the Words induction into the Star League. The opening

volleys strike just outside Tharkad City and set off a catastrophic meltdown of the citys nuclear

fusion reactor. Initial reports, however, claim the Blakists loosed a thermonuclear device on the

Lyran capital. At New Avalon, Armed Forces of the Federated Suns (AFFS) WarShips attempt to

interdict the inbound Blakist fleet and successfully cripple the attacking flagship. Heavy fighting in

space precedes a subsequent bombardment aimed directly at Avalon City. Both the Lyran Tharkad

and Federated Suns New Avalon fleets subsequently drop ground troops on their respective capital

worlds, estimated at nearly a full division each.

December 7: In retaliation for the Blakist-backed assault on their capital city of Harlech on

Outreach and the death of Commander Jaime Wolf, Wolfs Dragoons lead a punitive AMC assault

against the Blakist controlled world of Mars in the Sol System, consisting of Beta Regiment and Zeta

Battalion, the Dismal Disinheriteds 2ndRegiment and Lindons Battalion, augmented by Home

Guard forces and the Dragoons WarShips BeowulfandAthena. The mercenaries assault fails

catastrophically due to the fact that the Word of Blake maintains a massive fleet far larger than what

it had publicly claimed, with all Dragoons forces reported lost over Mars one solar day later. The

secretive Word of Blake Sixth of June faction had managed to divert 15% of the Gross Domestic

Product of the entire Free Worlds League to the construction of a massive Blakist military force in

service to the secretive leader of the faction knoqn only as the Master.

December 15:Word of Blake forces blockade the world of Northwind, reportedly destroying or

capturing all Northwind Highlander transport assets.

December 19:The ComStar First Circuit Hyperpulse Generator (HPG) on the Draconis Combine

capital world of Luthien falls ominously silent.

December 20:Word of Blake naval forces arrive in the Outreach System, destroy the Wolfs

Dragoons defending WarShipsNelsonand Dariusalong with the planets orbital defense stations, and

hold off a last-ditch defense by the Dragoons flagshipAlexander.

December 21: Clan Nova Cat forces on Tukayyid and elsewhere in Draconis Combine space,

including their attached WarShips, abruptly withdraw to the Combines Irece Prefecture. Elements

of the reactionary Kuritan Black Dragon Society launch a coup against the Luthien planetary

government. Blakist ground forces land on Outreach in coordination with the Black Dragon assault,

initiating a massive battle on both primary continents of Luthien.

December 24: General Helen Thrall, leader of the Sirian Concordance, is assassinated, reportedly

by agents from the separatist Lyran world of Skye.

December 26: Blakist forces unleash a devastating series of orbital bombardments and strategic

thermonuclear attacks against Wolfs Dragoons and their allies on the mercenary world of Outreach,reportedly annihilating all Dragoons on the Remus continent and devastating the famed mercenary

units remaining forces on the continent of Romulus.

December 28:The Wolfs Dragoons flagshipAlexandercovers a general retreat from Outreach by

surviving Dragoons and their allied mercenary forces. TheAlexanderherself is destroyed. The Blakist

blockade of Outreach begins.

December 30: Black Dragon Society forces gain full military control over Luthien. Blakist forces

complete their conquests of the worlds of Epsilon Indi, Fletcher and Tall Trees, establishing brutal

theocratic occupation regimes.

January 1:Word of Blake naval and ground forces attack the Luthien System. Reports of Blakist

support for the loyalists are unconfirmed due to a planetary blackout. Loyalist and Black Dragon

forces engage the Word of Blake, sparking a three-way battle for planetary control.

January 21:The Word of Blake WarShips Deliveranceand Blakes Swordlast reported at

Tharkadappear at the world of Tukayyid to attack the Com Guard forces headquartered there.

The Com Guard WarShips Hammerstrikeand Blakes Vengeanceare destroyed.

January 28: Coordinator of the Draconis Combine Theodore Kurita suffers a stroke and falls into

a coma while planning a campaign to reclaim the Kurita homeworld of Luthien. Hohiro Kurita, on

Orestes at the time, does not immediately claim the throne of the Combine. Blakist WarShips use

coordinated orbital bombardment to cripple or destroy all Com Guard troops stationed on

Tukayyid, as well as any remaining Star League Defense Force (SLDF) units that rise to their

defense.

February 4:An allegedly renegade Free Worlds LeagueEagle-class WarShip, the Percival, raids the

Lyran world of Skye, and units sporting Sirian Lancers colors land on the planet to engage in a two-

day battle with Skye forces. Duke Robert Kelswa-Steiner of the Lyran Alliances Isle of Skye regiondecries the assault, declares war on the Star League and calls all Skye-loyal troops to come to the

Isles defense. Word of Blake forces assault the world of Dieron in the Draconis Combine, seeking

to add it to the Word of Blake Protectorate. Com Guard forces around the Sol System begin

gathering for Operation CASE WHITE, a massive ComStar invasion aimed at Terra. The bulk of

the Com Guard fleet and roughly eleven unengaged Com Guard divisions are called up by Precentor

Martial Victor Steiner-Davion to participate in the offensive.

February 10:The first batches of Blakist reinforcements reach Tharkad and New Avalon,

extending the ground wars on both worlds against the remnants of the Lyran and Federated Suns

defenders, respectively. A long period of vicious urban guerilla warfare ensues.

February 20: Contact with ComStar Precentor Martial Victor Steiner-Davion, personally assigned

to lead Operation CASE WHITE, is lost while he and his ComStar flagship, the Invisible Truth, are en

route to the staging area.

February 27: Caesar Steiner, Margrave of the Cavanaugh II Theater in the Lyran Alliance, isassassinated at his command post, allegedly by agents of the Free Worlds League.

March 1:The Lyran Alliances Bolan Province follows the Isle of Skyes lead in declaring war on

the Free Worlds League and begins coordinating assault strategies with Duke Robert Kelswa-Steiner

of Skye. The lack of central control from Tharkad and the unknown status of Archon Peter Steiner-

Davion who remains trapped behind Blakist lines on that benighted world allows the Skye and

Bolan forces to operate independently of the rest of the Lyran state.

March 9: ComStars Operation CASE WHITE invasion of the Sol System is launched.

March 10: Combined Bolan Province/Isle of Skye forces attack the Free Worlds League planets of

Cascade, Megrez and Togwotee in the first wave of their invasion, codenamed Operation

BERSCHATTEN.

March 13: Due to widespread sabotage and an unexpectedly strong Blakist presence in the Sol

System, ComStars Operation CASE WHITE fails. Reports of ComStar ground landings and nuclear

attacks by the Blakists against the ComStar invaders in Europe and North America remain

unconfirmed. The Invisible Truth, delayed from arriving in the Sol System until the 17thof March by

an ambush, arrives too late to take part in the battle, and withdraws to report the total defeat of the

CASE WHITE fleet, including all eleven Com Guard divisions and more than twenty Com Guard

WarShips. An estimated six Blakist vessels and a division of Word of Blake Militia ground troops are

thought to have been destroyed as well.

March 14-17: Blakist raiders, supported by WarShips (or DropShips mounting capital weapons),

attack the key Lyran industrial worlds of Donegal, Coventry and Hesperus II.

March 20: Clan Wolf in-Exile sends a task force to the besieged mercenary world of Outreach to

evacuate any remaining Wolfs Dragoons survivors, successfully extracting more than two

companies of Dragoon troops and scores of civilians despite heavy Blakist resistance. Lyran Alliance

Armed Forces (LAAF) troops redeploy in an effort to shore up the Lyran-Free Worlds border,

despite General of the Armies Adam Steiners admonishment of Dukes Robert Kelswa-Steiner ofSkye and Alder Umayr of Bolan for launching their joint and unauthorized invasion.

March 30:The second wave of the Bolan Province/Isle of Skye offensive takes the Free Worlds

League planets of Colfax, Sheridan, Thermopolis and Pingree.

April:Numerous raidsmany now believed to be the work of Blakist forces or their mercenary

allieshit the worlds of Addicks, Edasich, Talcott and New Valencia.

April 16:Hohiro Kurita leads a Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery (DCMS) task force to the

occupied Kuritan world of Dieron to confront Blakist forces there.

April 25:The planetary government of Demeter submits to Word of Blake control and is absorbed

into the growing Blakist Protectorate.

May 20:The Skye/Bolan combined forces take the Free Worlds League planets of Preston,

Rexburg and McAffee.

June 16:Unidentified invaderslater determined to be Word of Blake troopsinvade the

infamous game world of Solaris VII, quickly overpowering any initial organized defense in the

absence of the Com Guard forces relocated from the planet by the doomed CASE WHITE attack.

In the confusion of the Free Worlds League-Lyran Alliance war, no one is certain at first who is

behind the assault, but with so many stables and free agents on the world, an underground

movement quickly forms to wage an ongoing guerilla war against the Blakist occupation.

June 18:Hohiro Kurita is captured by Word of Blake forces on Dieron. His commanders report

him as missing, presumed dead.

June 19-21:The Word of Blake invades and conquers the worlds of Altair, Asta, Fomalhaut and

Yorii, using a combination of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction to

eliminate all resistance and create fear in their next round of conquests.

June 25:Duke Kai Allard-Liao vanishes while on a military inspection tour of his homeworld of St.

Ives, the capital world of the Capellan Confederatons recently reconquered St. Ives Commonality.

Capellan officials blame agents of House Davion.

June 28:Citing the Capellan Confederations perceived involvement with the Word of Blake,

reports of massive Capellan troop build-ups near the border, and an alleged arms trade with the

Blakists, all of which pose a clear and present danger to the Federated Suns, and further claiming

Duke Kai Allard-Liao of St. Ives unexpected (and unexplained) defection to his homeworld of New

Syrtis, Duke George Hasek, Lord of the Federated Suns Capellan March, launches Operation

SOVEREIGN JUSTICE, an unsanctioned Davion invasion of the Capellan Confederation. The

campaigns stated goal is the isolation and liberation of the former St. Ives Compact from Capellan

rule, and consists of three assault prongs aimed at encircling the region with a buffer zone of Armed

Forces of the Federated Suns (AFFS) troops. At the same time, the Skye/Bolan rogue forces claim

the worlds of Shasta, Idyld and Gallatin even as the Free Worlds League Military (FWLM) launches

a successful counterattack on the occupied world of Preston.

July 2:Led now by Marshall Jeremy Brett, the FWLM takes back the worlds of Colfax and

McAffee. Duke Haseks Operation SOVERIGN JUSTICE continues with the conquest of the

Capellan worlds of Minnacora, New Sagan and Capricorn III along one front, Relevow and Overton

along the second, and Harloc, Decus, Purvo and Carmen on the thirdall undefended worlds that

link the attacking fronts together. Capellan Confederation counterattacks begin.

July 9:The combined Skye/Bolan forces take the Free Worlds planets of Niihan, Autumn Wind

and Gannett.

July 10-14:Clan Snow Ravens Swift Wing Galaxy Naval Star raids the undefended Draconis

Combine worlds of Enif, Galedon and Tabayama in an apparent wave of reprisal strikes for the loss

of the WarShip White Cloud.

July 24:The FWLM reclaims the worlds of Cascade, Gallatin and Idyld from the Bolan/Skye

forces.

August 1:By this date, the Word of Blake non-violently secures full control over the planetary

governments of Acamar, Arboris, Car Coroli, Caph, Capolla, Epsilon Indi, New Home, Terra Firma

and Shiloh and adds them to the rapidly growing Blakist Protectorate. These capitulations come

from worlds terrified of facing an indiscriminate assault by Blakist weapons of mass destruction and

the terrible loss of life that will ensue. The ComStar WarShip Bordeauxexecutes a daring raid on

Tukayyid to extract Primus Sharilar Mori and several key Com Guard officers stranded there by the

Blakist WarShip blockade.

August 5:Citing the loss of stability on Luthien, Hohiro Kuritas disappearance and Coordinator

Theodore Kuritas ill heath, Pesht Military District Warlord Tai-shu Kiyomori Minamoto formally

assumes command of the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery (DCMS).

August 7-14:Federated Suns commandos and smaller BattleMech units attached to the Federated

Suns Draconis March stage a series of deep objective raids on the undefended Draconis Combineworlds of Altais, Chichibu, Junction, Barlows Folly, Misery and Beta Mensae V, allegedly looking

for and liberating some Federated Commonwealth Civil War-era prisoners of war.

Confederation is reported missing, feared dead among the ruins. Rather than shattering Capellan

resolve, the attack galvanizes the Confederation, as even elements of Free Capella and pro-St. Ives

elements decry the apparent Federated Suns attack. Sang-jiang-jun Talon Zahn declares himself

Military Regent of the Capellan Confederation. The Word of Blake captures the worlds of Muphrid,

Thorin and New Earth. The use of tactical nuclear weapons by the Blakists is alleged on all three

worlds. Clan Jade Falcon seizes the world of Graus from the otherwise occupied Lyran Alliance.

October 16:Contact with Canopus IV and its neighboring star systems in the Peripherys

Magistracy of Canopus is lost.

October 17:FWLM forces continue to press forward into Lyran space, striking at the worlds of

Syrma and Zebebelgenubi.

October 24:The Knights of the Inner Sphere arrive on the Free Worlds League capital planet of

Atreus.

October 25:During a hastily-arranged parade in honor of the returning Knights of the Inner

Sphere, the Word of Blake attacks Atreus. Chemical weapons reportedly kill the bulk of the

members of the Free Worlds League Parliament and the Knights themselves, and a massive naval

engagement between pro-Word and pro-League WarShips allegedly erupts in the capital star system.

Blakist propaganda broadcast just as the attack commences declares Captain-General Thomas Marik

of the Free Worlds League to be a fraud and a body double for the real Thomas Marik; former

ComStar Precentor Martial Anastasius Focht and ComStar Primus Sharilar Mori are also denounced

as frauds shortly before widespread disruption of the communications network begins. Across the

Inner Sphere, a flood of Blakist propaganda and other interference chokes the hyperpulse generator

(HPG) network with white noise.

October 26:After assassinating Primus Sharilar Mori of ComStar and attempting to assassinate

Anastasius Focht, disillusioned members of ComStar ROM, the ComStar intelligence service

including the Precentor ROM, Victoria Parrdeauflee ComStars command center on the world of

Orestes. Gavin Dow becomes the de facto Primus of ComStar.

November 1-7:Blakist raidersinvolving at least one WarShip, one division of troops and

unidentified mercenariesattack Orestes. ComStars 104th Division and the Rasalhague Republics

1st Tyr Regiment are mauled, as is the Bordeaux, one of ComStars last surviving WarShips. The

Blakist forces are finally routed after a savage fight.

November 9:The Word of Blake destroys the 1st Kittery Borderers and conquers the world of

Kittery in the name of the Capellan Confederation. All HPG traffic on the world of Northwind

ceases amid rumors of a massive orbital assault.

November 10:Warlord Minamoto, now proclaiming himself Gunji-no-Kanreiof the DCMS, decrees

that the Draconis Combines administrative and military capital is relocating to the world of New

Samarkand for the duration of the current crisis on Luthien.

November 15-21:Several AFFS troops stationed along the Federated Suns Draconis March

launch unsanctioned attacks against the Draconic Combine worlds of Matsuida and Galedon V.

November 27:Lyran forces reclaim the worlds of Syrma and Zebebelgenubi from the Free Worlds

League.

December 1-7:Renegade Federated Suns Draconis March forces launch a deep attack against

the Combine world of Benjamin and decimate the 6th Ghost there. The Kuritan Internal Security

Force (ISF) Chief Ninyu Kerai is reportedly killed. Meanwhile, Canopian troops led by Naomi

Centrella rally on the Capellan capital world of Sian.

December 8-14:A Word of Blake strike force in the Periphery destroys ComStars Columbus

Outpost and the 151st Regiment of the Eridani Light Horse mercenaries.

December 10:Capellan forces hit the Federated Suns worlds of Valexa and Tallin.

December 20:Remarkably discovered to still be alive following the bombardment of Sian by

unknown forces, Chancellor Sun-Tzu Liao of the Capellan Confederation is freed from the rubble

of the Forbidden City on the Capellan capital world of Sian.

Part II: Raging Inferno, 3069-3070

January 4:Hohiro Kurita is liberated from a Blakist prison camp on the occupied world of Dieron,

reportedly with aid from surviving elements of the Royal Black Watch.

January 5:The entire Clan Snow Raven Naval Star at Ramora is sabotaged and destroyed by

Blakist-backed terrorists using Draconis Combine vessels and tactics.

January 7:Lyran troops successfully reclaim the worlds of Mizar, Summer and Alcor from the

Free Worlds League.

January 8-21:Clan Jade Falcon forces conquer Black Earth, Blackjack, Blue Hole and Roadside

from the Lyran Alliance.

January 26:Capellan counterattacks have by this point reclaimed several worlds seized during

Duke George Haseks SOVEREIGN JUSTICE campaign. With the fall of Kittery, the central prong

of Haseks invasion has also been choked off and the Federated Suns forces begin to fall back

further.

February 1-7:DCMS troops return to the world of Benjamin to engage the entrenched Federated

Suns Draconis March renegades there.

February 14-21:Word of Blake forces launch heavy raids against the Draconic Combine worlds

of Pesht and Benjamin in an effort to further throw the Combine command structures into chaos.

In the Marian Hegemony in the Periphery, a wave of rebellionsboth passive and activeerupts in

the former Lothian and Illyrian regions.

February 18:Capellan WarShips secure the worlds of St. Ives, Necromo and Warlock, while

additional Capellan Confederation Armed Forces (CCAF) troops hit the Federated Suns worlds of

Ashkum, Bromhead, Frazer, Haappajarvi, Hadnall, Mendham, Manapire and Verlo.

February 20:The unexpected Blakist assault on the Draconic Combine world of Benjamin shatters

the Combine and Federated Suns troops already fighting for the planet. Meanwhile, Chancellor Sun-

Tzu Liao of the Capellan Confederation publicly announces his engagement to Magestrix Naomi

Centrella of the Magistracy of Canopus and his adoption of her daughter, Ilsa Centrella, who was

actually his illegitimate daughter with the Magestrix.

February 25:Federated Suns troops retreat from the world of Benjamin due to heavy casualties,

even as Blakist Pocket WarShips continue to assault the planet.

March 4:Believed to be operating under Blakist command, the Order of the Faithful pirate force

destroys the Nimakachi BattleMech factories on the Combine world of Tematagi.

March 1-14:Blakist forces and affiliated mercenaries attack the planets of Al Nair, Imbros III and

Saffel, conquering all three worlds. Clan Wolf takes the Clan Jade Falcon-held worlds of Bessarabia,

Biota and Cusset.

March 18:A Lyran Alliance task force of DropShips and aerospace fighters fails to break through

the Blakist blockade of the Lyran capital world of Tharkad.

March 21-28:Capellan troops hit the Federated Suns worlds of Safe Port, Glentworth, Wrentham,

Robsart, Sirdar, Spica, Aucara, Jonzac, Lee and Cammal. Duke George Hasek recalls his offensive

against the Capellan Confederation to defend against the House Liao counterattacks. Meanwhile, the

Periphery state known as the Taurian Concordat sends reinforcements into the embattled Pleiades

Cluster.

April 1-7:DCMS troops return to Galedon V to expel the invading Federated Suns Draconis

March troops. Meanwhile, Blakist forces and affiliated mercenaries attack the worlds of Ascella,

Atlas, Moore, Royalston and Sabik, while additional Blakist forces out of Kittery hit the Federated

April 17:In the embattled Free Worlds League, the false Thomas Marik appeals to the Leagues

member worlds to select new Parliamentary representatives and vows to remain as Captain-General

until proper government is restored.

May 1-14:Clan Snow Raven WarShips attack and seize the Draconis Combine worlds of

Valentina, Budingen, Weisau and Schirmeck, even as Combine forces arrive to expel Federated Suns

forces on Matsuida and the Federated Suns troops on Galedon V finally retreat in the midst of an

epidemic outbreak. Meanwhile, Capellan Death Commandos raid Kathil and cripple the House

Davion orbital shipyards there.

May 7-21:Word of Blake and allied mercenary forces hit the Draconic Combine worlds of Alya,

Ankaa, Cebalrai, Kessel and Vega. Alya, Cebalrai and Vega fall in conventional attacks. Kessel does

not succumb despite the use of tactical nuclear weapons, in part because of the timely arrival of

Combine WarShips. Blakist neutron weapons reportedly kill over 10,000 civilians on Kessel before

the invaders retreat.

May 14-28:The Capellan CCAF continues its border-wide assault on the Federated Suns as the

last of Duke Haseks Capellan March troops find themselves on the defensive. Capellan troops hit

Kathil, Jaipur, Ridgebrook, Manadree and Bacum, as their rimward drive begins a leapfroggingapproach toward Haseks capital world of New Syrtis.

June 1:Clan Snow Raven forces capture Goubellat and arrive in the Galedon System with a full

Naval Star. After bombarding several military bases from orbit, the Snow Ravens give the civilian

castes of Galedon one solar week to evacuate the planet.

the planets surface, quickly achieving a level of carnage surpassing the Kentares Massacre of 2796

during the First Succession War, formerly the greatest war crime in human history. Draconis

Combine troops had wiped out large portions of the population of Kentares IV in that year as an act

of revenge for the death of Coordinator Minoru Kurita.Planetary infrastructure on Galedon

collapses in the wake of the bombardment. Combined with the loss of planetary administration,

most transportation and government controls, the deadly plague released during the earlier

Federated Suns/Draconis Combine fighting begins to spread among the survivors. Only about

30,000 Galedonians escape from the planet, to become Snow Raven isorla.

June 28:Marshall Jeremy Brett issues a League-wide appeal for unity in the name of the Free

Worlds, officially expressing his support for Captain-General Thomas Marik in this time of crisis.

September 27:ComStar forces mustering on the world of Summer are on hand along with local

planet. In the ensuing battle, a powerful thermonuclear device launched by a Pocket WarShip

levels the planetary capital city of Curitiba and decimates the on-planet defenders. Curiously, the

Blakist forces then move on, leaving no occupation troops behind as was their custom.

October 1-7:Clan Wolf seizes La Grave, Domain, Orkney, Jabuka and Rasalgethi, shadowing the

Clan Jade Falcon advances while the Inner Sphere powers are distracted with the Jihad and each

other.

October 4:The Word of Blake task force from Summer assaults the Lyran world of Skye, only to

be routed by the recently arrived LAS Fylgiaand a complement of Skye DropShips and aerospace

Houses launch a surprise assault against the Forbidden City on Sian. At the peak of the fighting,

however, one of Kalis Warrior Houses turns on the other, effectively eliminating both from the

battle, turning the tide in favor of the defending CCAF forces and forcing the Word of Blake forces

into a rout.

January 18:A Free Worlds Regulan force led by Prince Titus Cameron-Jones raids Irian, inflictingheavy damage and receiving heated condemnation from the Free Worlds capital planet of Atreus.

to extensive plague outbreaks that began nearly a year earlier.

February 10:Taurian forces invade and capture Mendham. At the same time, AFFS and Federated

Suns militia forces, backed up by the Hansens Roughriders, strike at Lothair, Warren, and Hyalite.

Though the Taurians hold Lothair, Warren becomes a stalemate. On Hyalite, the Roughriders use

of fuel-air explosives quickly shatters the defending Gordons Armored Cavalry, and allows theFederated Suns to reclaim that world.

February 11:Magestrix Naomi Centrella-Liao departs Sian, bound for the Magistracy of Canopus.

February 14:DCMS troops finally begin to arrive on the war-ravaged worlds of Luthien and

Pesht, finding no sign of Blakist troop presence in the wake of the Ghost Bear withdrawal. Also on

this date, the Word of Blakes 22ndDivision raids the world of Wrentham.

February 17:Lindon Ashleys Democracy Now movement stages uprisings while its Democratic

Peoples Army raids the neighboring worlds of Akfata and Vermezzo. On Akfata, anarchy reigns

after the ruling family flees the DPA assault. On Vermezzo, most of the three highest-ranking noble

families (and their supporting government staff) are either killed or taken hostage by Democracy

Now agitators.

February 21:A Federated Suns entourage journeys to the Outworlds Alliance to negotiate a

settlement with the Snow Ravens, including the release of captured elements of the 3rd

CrucisLancers and Snow Raven aid in Devlin Stones coalition. The Snow Ravens assure the Federated

Suns that they will not strike again without provocation, but claim the captured Lancers as isorlaof

the Raven Alliance and refuse to join Stones coalition.

February 23:As a sign of goodwill, Princess Regent Yvonne Steiner-Davion of the Federated Suns

gifts the captured Word of Blake vessel Dark Light(now re-christened the FSSExcalibur) to Devlin

Stone.

March 4:Pro-Democracy Now agitators bomb the Capital Arcology Complex on Ferihegy, killing

over five thousand Ferihegy residents and producing a massive public backlash against the

Democracy Now leader and his followers throughout the Kaumberg Archonette in the Lyran

Alliance.

March 17:Cybernetically-augmented forces from the Circinus Federation assault and conquer

Khon Kaen and Poulsbo. Additional Federation troops attack the Marian Hegemony worlds ofBlantleff and Maximilian.
