Bay Area Guard Unit flyover to honor frontline COVID-19 workers

MOFFETT AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Calif. – The 129th Rescue Wing, California Air National Guard out of Mountain

View, Calif. will perform two flyovers between 11:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday, May 25, Memorial Day. The flyovers

demonstrate the United States Air Force’s continued readiness and expresses gratitude to health care providers, first responders,

and other essential personnel on the frontlines in the fight against COVID-19.

An aerial formation including one HC-130J Combat King II aircraft and two HH-60G Pave Hawk rescue helicopters are set to

begin the flyover from Moffett Air National Guard Base, Mountain View and will pass over the north and south Bay Area medical

facilities. In addition, a single HC-130J Combat King II aircraft, also set to begin from Moffett, will perform a flyover and pass

over the Central and Salinas Valley area.

“The Wing airmen and I offer our sincerest gratitude to all the healthcare workers, first responders, service members, other

essential personnel and all their families who have put our communities first by serving on the front lines during this pandemic,”

said Col. Taft O. Aujero, commander, 129th Rescue Wing. “These flyovers are for you, as we salute you for your service and

sacrifice.”

Residents in these areas will be able to see the flyover from the safety of their home and should maintain all social distancing

guidelines during this event.
