You Can’t Fool Mother Nature Last year, the 2014 AHR Expo in New York Citywas originally estimated to be record breakingin attendance. Located in the greatest city in theworld (yes, I am a bit biased) and the gatewayto the world (yes, biased, again) and with theeconomy coming out of years of flat to nogrowth, the Convention was going to be great!Unfortunately, Mother Nature had a big laugh onus all. We were overcome with a huge blizzardthe first day of the show. Flights could not makeit in and public transportation came to a halt. What was going to be the best, turned out to beone of the worst.
This year we were faced with the AHR Expo inthe “Windy” and usually cold and snowy city,Chicago. We arrived to 45 degree temperaturesand no sign of snow! Chicago is an excellentcity for the AHR Expo since it is centrally locatedin the United States and, also, an internationalgateway. Coincidently, New York, and the entireNortheast, got blasted with another superstormduring the 2015 AHR Expo. Many of ourNortheast customers, to avoid the storm, eitherflew home early Monday, or did not make travelto Chicago at all. You all were missed!
Duro Dyne showcased several new products. We featured a newly designed FG Mach IIIPinspotter; a new CDMF Pinspotter for jobsiteinsulating; a new PBFS which allows for twooperators welding pins at once; and the LSUliner cutter which easily cuts all types of liner, including foam. It was very exciting and invig-orating to introduce these new state of the artitems at the show. Everyone who had theopportunity to see and hear about them wasvery enthusiastic.
It was especially exciting to watch our newVice President of Sales and New ProductDevelopment, David Krupnick, demonstrate allof these items on video. If you would like toview the video, it can be found on our socialmedia sites, as well as the Duro Dyne website. Ithink you will agree that these items will helpour customers tremendously.
I am very excited to see the fruits of DuroDyne’s investment in the 2015 AHR Expo. Iknow we can’t fool Mother Nature - all we cando is try our best to deal with what she dishesout! My sincere thanks to the whole Duro Dyneteam who made this show a success, from thosebehind the scenes to those who were present togreet our customers, and discuss our products.Hopefully next year the weather will cooperatea little more. I look forward to seeing everyone at the 2016AHR Expo, January 25 to January 27, in Orlando, Florida.
