Erika Graves would like to find information on Evan Breese who was a Railway Signalman at Talgarth in 1901. She asks if anyone has any names for the men in the photo (Photo 12) and when was it taken? C.J.Price of Rhydyfro, Pontardawe would like more information about photo 13: C J Price:"I am trying to contact any relation of a Talgarth butcher, Thomas Price who is shown outside his shop in your old photos of Talgarth, photo number 13.Any information relating to this photograph will be greatly appreciated." Debbie Morgan from Coggeshall sent us this message in January 2008: Debbie:"Frederick and Kate Morgan pictured in Talgarth's first car are the brother and sister of my Grandfather - David Hippisley Morgan." : Alison Hodge from Cheltenham wants to know if anyone recognises a relative of hers in the photo above: Alison:" I have just been looking at the old photos of Talgarth. Snow in Talgarth

In 1947 a very heavy snow fall covered Talgarth.

Erika Graves would like to find information on Evan Breesewho was a Railway Signalman at Talgarth in 1901. She asksif anyone has any names for the men in the photo (Photo 12)and when was it taken?

Fat Stock at a Chrismas market in the field known as theBell's Orchard. Livestock sales where moved from the

Square to this field behind the Bell Hotel in Edwardian timesuntil a new market was built in 1925.

Local milkman

In the 1920s Jim Prosser was the milkman. A veryindustrious man, he later owned a sweet shop and taught

himself how to be a barber.

The Town Hall was built in 1877 as an assembly room with aproduce market underneath for the sale of dairy products,poutry, rabbit etc. The Clock Tower was added in 1887 for

Bronllys Tower

Bronllys Tower before restoration. Built in 1100s in the wakeof the Norman conquest of breconshire the 70 ft. tall was bythe 16th century considered "beyond repair". CADW did not

agree and restored it in the 60s.
