Rush and Important Dates

With the return to school coming up next week we have started to prepare for the craze of September and Rush. Throughout Rush we encourage our Graduate Brothers to come out to events to get to know some of our rushes and catch up with the active chapter. The dates for 2015 rush are as follows:

§ Stan Cup – September 20th (6-11) § Second Rush – September 22nd (6-10) § Formal Rush – September 27th (7-11)

Second Rush and Stan Cup will be held at the FIJI house at 2880 Wesbrook Mall. The location for Formal Rush is at the Gerald McGavin Rugby Pavilion at 2765 Wesbrook Mall (Directly Across from the House). We are looking for several graduates to make speeches at formal rush. Brothers At Pemberton Music Festival This past July a number of Brothers and Graduate Brothers attended the annual Pemberton Music Festival. While Graduate Brother Dan Mangan performed on stage, Brothers were there representing FIJI.

The Ultimate Ultimate Tournament On march 15th we held our first annual ultimate Frisbee tournament. The event was more successful than we ever initially imagined thanks to the efforts of Brother Tim Burke and his team. Sixteen teams took part in this day event helping to raise over $4,500 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.

THANK YOU Graduates! Founders Day Barbecue

On may 1st we held our first founders’ day barbecue. We were ecstatic about the level of graduate attendance and are already looking forward to next year. It is always a great time for the undergraduate chapter to meet our extensive graduate chapter. We always love to hear stories from the past.

Pig Dinner This November Pig Dinner will be on Thursday, November 12th. We look forward to this opportunity to introduce our newest pledge class to the graduate chapter. The Return of Poker Night

This past November we held a Graduate Poker Night at the FIJI House and it was a good time to say the least. Friday October 16TH from 8-12 at the FIJI house, we plan to host poker night again and hope to make it even bigger than last year. We thank all that attended last year and hope to see even more graduates this October. Please stay tuned for an email and a Facebook event with more details.

1929 Club This year, several Graduate Brothers visited the Undergraduate Chapter to announce that they were restarting the 1929 Club. The 1929 Club has been a long- standing tradition of the Pi Gamma Chapter and Consisted of giving $19.29 to the Pi Gamma Chapter on an Annual Basis in recognition of the year of our chapter’s chartering. If you would like to join the 1929 club or would like more information about the program, please fill out this form. We are in the process of currently using funds raised from the 1929 Club to revamp our study room. Stay tuned to see the results in the next newsletter.
