BC CONNECT® Enhancements
BC CONNECT® has enabled new functionality allowing Projects to be
created without assigning Builders and\or Dealers. BC FRAMER® 8.1.3 will
support these changes.
Important: BC CONNECT® Web clients must contact EWP Support to have
the new functionality enabled to synchronize with BC FRAMER® 8.1.3. This
setting is a Location switch and will affect all users.
Open from BC CONNECT® dialog performance greatly improved
Open from BC CONNECT® supports Builder, Dealer, Project filters
Open from BC CONNECT® supports search by mmdl file name

Ortho Mode > Ortho Overrides Osnap
Yes = Ortho will control line direction
No = Osnap will control line direction
Press CTRL key to override control
method. When Ortho is controlling, holding the CTRL
key will enable Osnap

Crop PDFs after import
8.1.1 8.1.2
BC FRAMER® introduced the ability to
crop PDFs during the import process.
Version 8.1.3 expands this feature to
allow cropping of the PDF after the file
has been imported.
Select the PDF – right click
PDF/Image Trace > Crop
Drag grips to define cropped area.

Beam – Line Selection method
When creating Beam a new input
method is available – Line Selection
Input Method = Line Selection
Optionally set Extend Length value
Example – set to 3” for beams created
at wall openings to automatically provide
bearing length
Select Line, then Start and End locations of
beams.
Shift + Left Click can be used to offset
the new beam from a line- say a beam that
is 4’ to the right of a wall.
Move cursor to set beam reference as Left,
Center or Right – Left Click when reference
is as desired.

Builder and/or a Dealer. If you are a BC CONNECT® Web user, please contact EWP
Support when you are ready to upgrade to BC FRAMER® 8.1.3
At a later time these fields may be modified to add or change the selection.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
BC CONNECT® setting is per Location. All Designers should update to version
8.1.3 at the same time. Please contact EWP Support to have the new
functionality enabled.

IT group provides install files for you

Installing the software
Upgrading an existing version
Double click on the install file, the upgrade
will run without further action
Database settings will be retained while
new features or products are added
New Install
Process is identical to previous versions
Upgrade Support Version
7.6.5 & later
Installing the new BC FRAMER® version
Install Update 1
Double click on the update.exe file
8.1.3.Update1.BCF.exe
BC FRAMER installs eligible for the update
will be displayed.
Check mark the version to update.
Click the Proceed button.
Back up the 8.1.2 database - Optional
Backing up your current database
is recommended. BUT do not
import this back up into your new
install.
If you wish to back up your
database prior to upgrading
Use DataMover to export a file
Request full instructions on using Datamover
• Send Email to [email protected]
requesting info on backing up your current db
NOTE: The backup file should NOT be imported into your 8.1.3 database. It is
to be used only in the unlikely event of data corruption.
